  • Confirmed: Games Leaving PlayStation Plus in September 2026

Confirmed: Games Leaving PlayStation Plus in September 2026

The PS Store has announced the first wave of games set to exit PS Plus Extra and Premium in September 2026, with the August lineup now rolling out in regions where it’s Tuesday, August 18. As anticipated, Persona 5 Tactica is among the titles leaving next month.

This update is based on listings from the Japanese and Asian PlayStation Stores. Other regions are expected to see the same titles when their local stores refresh around noon on Tuesday. Minor regional differences might occur, and we’ll update this article if any variations are identified.

    The departing games include:

    – Persona 5 Tactica
    – Shadowrun Returns
    – Shadowrun Hong Kong: Extended Edition
    – Shadowrun Dragonfall: Director’s Cut
    – EA Sports Madden NFL 26
    – Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (PS Plus Premium)
    – Toy Story 3 (PS Plus Premium)

Interestingly, September is one of the rare months when two Premium titles are removed from the service. Typically, classic games tend to stay longer, so it’s noteworthy that Toy Story titles are leaving—especially since Disney has announced a definitive collection of Toy Story classics scheduled for release in October 2026.

All these titles will be unavailable starting Tuesday, September 15, coinciding with the rollout of next month’s PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs.

  • PS Plus Members Urged to Hold Off on New RPG Download

PS Plus Members Urged to Hold Off on New RPG Download

PS Plus Extra and Premium members should double-check their PS5 and PS4 libraries before downloading any game from August 2026. The game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human (Reloaded Edition), is part of the PS Plus Essential free games lineup for the month. Downloading it from the Essential section and then adding it to your library through the Extra catalog today could cause you to permanently lose your Essential license for that game.

Remember, if you claim a game through the Essential tier and later download it from the Extra catalog, your access to that game may be permanently revoked. Essential games are yours to keep forever, but games obtained through Extra or Premium are not. Re-downloading a game from the Extra catalog after claiming it via Essential will overwrite your license, and once the game is no longer available in the Extra library, you won’t be able to access it unless you buy it outright.

While contacting Sony support might provide a solution, there’s no guarantee it will fix the issue.

Dying Light 2 was made available as a free Essential game on August 4. It is currently available in the Extra catalog in all regions except the US, UK, and Japan, where it will be accessible starting August 25. This warning, however, applies to all subscribers regardless of their location.

The game blends Wuxia mythology and symbolism with modern graphics, set in the “Phantom world,” also known as Wulin—a semi-open world environment filled with action.

Originally unveiled at the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, this game is S-Game’s latest in what was previously known as the Rainblood franchise. The series launched with Rainblood: Town of Death in 2010, and later entries were released on Android and iOS in China under the Phantom Blade name. Hayden Panettiere’s Death Sparks New Details, PS4’s Until Dawn Exclusive

Until Dawn star Hayden Panettiere passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Her agent confirmed her sudden death through an official statement.

The actress was declared dead at age 36 after emergency services responded to an unresponsive woman that day. Recent reports from the Greenville Police Department have shed more light on her unexpected and tragic passing.

According to Greenville Police, there were no indications of foul play or suspicious activity in her death. A police spokesperson stated, “When responders arrived, medical aid was provided; however, Hayden Panettiere was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The department is conducting an investigation in partnership with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.

ABC News reports that Panettiere was staying temporarily at the residence where her body was found. It was also noted that a friend or acquaintance of hers made the 911 call.

A photograph of Hayden Panettiere is included in the reports, showing the actress during her career.

The cause of her death has not been officially confirmed yet. However, sources from People magazine mention that emergency dispatch audio suggests officials discussed an overdose and cardiac arrest at the scene. The precise cause will be revealed after further medical investigations.

Panettiere launched her Hollywood career early, with notable roles such as Sarah Roberts in “One Life to Live” and Sheryl in “Remember the Titans.” In 2015, she starred as Samantha “Sam” Giddings in the PlayStation 4 horror game “Until Dawn.”

  • Sony Blocks Fun 2023 Game on PS5 for Unusual Reason

Sony Blocks Fun 2023 Game on PS5 for Unusual Reason

The PS5 version of a popular 2023 game initially slated for release in 2027 has been blocked by Sony, according to the developer. Currently, Stonks-9800 is available on PC, where it has received an “overwhelmingly positive” rating. Meanwhile, the game’s ports for Xbox and Nintendo Switch are proceeding as planned.

Players might remember reports earlier this year about Sony’s purge of shovelware from the PlayStation Store, which involved removing thousands of low-quality, effort-deficient titles. The company also canceled contracts with known shovelware developers.

However, the issue here is that Ternox Games, the maker of Stonks-9800, is not a shovelware developer. Its titles are well-reviewed indie games, many of which are enjoyed by players. Unfortunately, it appears Sony used a shovelware filter that caught Ternox Games in its net, leading to the suspension of its PlayStation contract. As a result, all of Ternox’s games are being delisted from the PlayStation Store.

Ternox Games’s frustration is evident, with the developer stating, “PlayStation Support refuses to listen or even respond to my emails,” and mentioning that over the past five years, they’ve released ten games, with three more transferred from other publishers, totaling 13 titles since 2021.

The full message thread can be viewed below:

    > “STONKS-9800 will not be coming to PS5. Sony unilaterally terminated my PlayStation developer and publisher agreement without explanation. My existing games are scheduled to be removed from the PlayStation Store after August 23.” — Ternox Games (@Taimumari), August 16, 2026

  • New Release Window Announced for Exciting PlayStation 5 Adventure Game

New Release Window Announced for Exciting PlayStation 5 Adventure Game

One of the most highly anticipated sequels in a legendary adventure franchise recently received an update on its release timeframe. Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the next installment starring Lara Croft, was previously pushed back to 2028. However, it will be released after Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which is slated for launch in 2027.

A new financial report from Embracer Group confirms that Tomb Raider: Catalyst will launch sometime before March 2028. The report indicates that Catalyst is among the titles expected to debut during the fiscal year 2027/28, setting the latest possible release date at March 31, 2028, provided there are no additional delays.

In an interview, Jeff Gattis, head of Amazon Game Studios, revealed that both projects had experienced delays beyond their original release schedules. He also shared plans to heavily invest in Luna, Amazon’s cloud gaming service. The delays were intended to give development teams more time for polishing the games and to further develop Luna’s platform before their launches.

“Our goal is to establish a strong identity for Luna, building a content lineup that resonates with players—so much so that people think, ‘That’s the place to find Tomb Raider, Bond, and other big titles,’” Gattis explained.

Amazon always intended to release both titles in successive years, but the postponement of Legacy of Atlantis might relate to the packed gaming release schedule in 2026. The latter half of that year features significant game launches, including Grand Theft Auto VI in November. Many AAA titles are either shifting out of 2026 or moving into earlier months to avoid clashing with GTA VI.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be available on PlayStation 5 on February 12, 2027. As of now, no official release date has been announced for Tomb Raider: Catalyst.

Upcoming PlayStation 5 RPGs: Release Date Announcements

Two highly anticipated PlayStation 5 RPGs now have a confirmed release window, with both titles expected to arrive sooner rather than later for eager gamers.

According to an interim report from Embracer Group, reported by Gematsu, Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come game are scheduled to launch sometime between April 2027 and March 2028.

Darksiders 4, the latest installment in the hack-and-slash action-adventure series, was announced last year. The upcoming Kingdom Come game was confirmed earlier this year.

The new Kingdom Come game is rumored to be titled Kingdom Come Salvation, based on a trademark filed by Warhorse Studios, as spotted by Phrasemaker. However, fans should wait for official confirmation before getting too excited about the rumored name.

That same trademark also hints that Warhorse is working on a new open-world Middle-Earth RPG, in addition to the third entry in the Kingdom Come series. Both games are anticipated to feature expansive open worlds similar to their predecessors.

Fans of the Kingdom Come franchise will be pleased to know that its most recent release, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, has been met with strong acclaim. It boasts a Metascore of 89 out of 100 and a user rating of 8.7 out of 10 on Metacritic.

Sales figures for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II are equally impressive. As of June this year, it had sold over 6 million copies since launching in February 2025, with potential for more sales to come, much like the original.

The first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, released in 2018, sold around 10 million units last year, according to Warhorse Studios. The developer is certainly hopeful that the third installment will continue this successful streak.

Highly Anticipated PS5 RPG Reveals Release Window
