لكن، الطلب يلمح إلى أن “Wonders of O” قد يتبع نفس النهج الذي انتهجته Lies of P، عبر إعادة تقديم قصة كلاسيكية بأسلوب مظلم، فبينما أعادت Lies of P تصور شخصية بينوكيو، يبدو أن العنوان “Wonders of O” يوجه الأنظار إلى “ساحر أوز” بشكل قوي.

  • Star Wars Zero Company Celebrates Success Amid Developer Furloughs

Star Wars Zero Company Celebrates Success Amid Developer Furloughs

Nearly a week has passed since Star Wars Zero Company received mostly positive reviews, but most of its developers may not see a paycheck despite the game’s success. A recent report from Game File reveals that the majority of Bit Reactor’s developers working on Star Wars Zero Company were placed on furlough just before the game’s launch.

According to the detailed article, a representative from Bit Reactor contacted the publication and disclosed that nearly 80% of the team behind Zero Company are now off the company’s payroll and had been furloughed ahead of the release.

Only a small core team remains to handle any post-launch issues that might come up. Even though Zero Company debuted with a solid 79% positive rating on Steam, most of the development team isn’t celebrating.

Images show clones, troopers, and mercenaries from the game, highlighting its Star Wars-themed gameplay.

The source mentioned that Bit Reactor ran out of funds shortly before the game’s launch. The exact reasons for the financial difficulties are unclear, especially when compared to recent leaks related to GTA 6 that caused Take-Two’s stock to drop by over $2 billion.

Some furloughed employees, like Zachariah Scott, took to LinkedIn to share that Bit Reactor was “hiding the fact that the team was furloughed weeks ago.” Meanwhile, senior team members, particularly executives, were publicly praising the hard work of the developers behind Zero Company’s success.

What’s confirmed is that a legal document from 2024 references a 2021 funding agreement with Electronic Arts valued at $50 million for the game. However, the actual or final budget for Zero Company hasn’t been confirmed, and it appears the project may have fallen short of that financial goal.

An image of Zachariah Scott on LinkedIn underscores this point.

Legal issues are also brewing behind the scenes. The company’s co-founders, Alison Kelly and Greg Foertsch, are embroiled in a lawsuit. Kelly claims she was a co-owner and that Foertsch gradually pushed her out, leading her to seek more than $20 million in damages. Additionally, a separate lawsuit in the Netherlands against Sony remains ongoing.

This legal battle was originally scheduled for trial in June 2026, prior to the game’s launch, but it has now been postponed until 2027. The delay might give Bit Reactor a chance to recover some losses from the game’s sales, but the outcome remains uncertain.

The studio’s goal is to rehire furloughed employees with their pay restored, but doubts remain. Given the upcoming trial and the niche market of Star Wars Zero Company, sales could be limited—even though EA moved to privatize earlier this year.

  • Konami Announces Exciting Silent Hill Townfall Showcase This Week

Konami Announces Exciting Silent Hill Townfall Showcase This Week

Konami has officially announced a special event called “Press Start,” set for September 3, 2026, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time / 11 a.m. Eastern Time. The highlight will be a focus on Silent Hill Townfall, with other new updates and reveals expected throughout the event. Fans can anticipate the latest news from Konami Games during this showcase.

As shared earlier today on Konami’s official X account, the event will showcase brand-new gameplay footage of Silent Hill Townfall. Developers will also deliver video messages updating fans on the game’s development progress. There’s a possibility of in-depth videos providing a closer look at what fans can expect from the next installment in the franchise.

In addition to Silent Hill Townfall, the broadcast will feature upcoming titles such as Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, launching October 15, 2026. This is a 2D action-adventure game centered on Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, marking the 26th main entry in the Castlevania series.

Fans are also likely to get an exclusive first look at another upcoming game or perhaps some footage from Rev. NOiR, an action RPG teased earlier this year. The story revolves around two individuals who meet under extreme circumstances and team up to save the world.

A promotional image for the event shows a striking visual announcing the Press Start showcase, emphasizing the excitement surrounding the event.

Exclusive footage will be shown during the stream, though it’s not yet clear which game will be featured. Despite rumors of a Silent Hill remake, Konami has confirmed there will be no announcements related to it at this time.

For now, it’s best to hold off on speculation. However, fans can be reassured that Konami aims to release a new Silent Hill title every year, so more updates on the franchise are expected later this year.

  • KCD Creative Director Blasts “AI Slop” Label for DLSS 5

KCD Creative Director Blasts “AI Slop” Label for DLSS 5

Players have been highly vocal about Nvidia DLSS 5 since its initial announcement in March, which Jensen Huang describes as “the GPT moment for graphics.” However, a notable figure in the gaming industry has stepped into the debate, siding with DLSS 5’s capabilities. The creative director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance has defended DLSS 5, emphasizing its impact on gaming visuals.

He shared a comparison on social media that showcased a character model rendered with the game’s original lighting versus one with DLSS 5 enabled. He explained that the game’s limited lighting system couldn’t accurately portray lighting, textures, and shadows as originally intended, but DLSS 5 significantly enhances all three elements.

He stated, “On the right is the same model without any geometry changes, looking just like a render from ZBrush—where a 3D artist modeled it—only with better lighting, shadows, skin textures, hair, and more details, thanks to neural network rendering in DLSS 5.”

A screenshot accompanied the post, illustrating the improvements brought by DLSS 5. The developer also didn’t shy away from addressing critics who dismiss DLSS 5 as “AI slop,” retorting, “Some random internet guy says: THIS IS AI SLOP! I want the original artistic vision!”

He claimed that DLSS 5 restores the original artistic intent of Warhorse Studios for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, comparing it to static ZBrush renders of the models created during development. He emphasized that artifacts like helmet shadows on faces or flawed normal map rendering were never part of the studio’s vision, calling out the exaggerated criticism as “crazy.”

In another post, he expressed frustration over the lack of shadows from hats, hoods, and helmets in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, noting how disappointing it was that small details like buckles and laces couldn’t cast shadows, which he considered a setback.

Despite praising DLSS 5 for its impressive visual improvements, he acknowledged some frame-rate issues but remained optimistic about its future potential. He concluded by saying, “This technology has enormous promise, and it’s fantastic that even older games’ lighting can be enhanced this way.”

During Nvidia’s DLSS 5 showcase at SIGGRAPH 2026, there was considerable backlash from players, with many feeling that the technology resembles an “AI filter.” These recent social media insights shed light on why the creative director believes people are overreacting to DLSS 5.

Though he left Warhorse Studios earlier this year, the upcoming Kingdom Come installment and a Lord of the Rings RPG could continue to leverage AI technology to reduce development costs. Reports indicate that the studio replaced a Czech-English translator with AI earlier this year, suggesting Warhorse is open to integrating generative AI tools.

  • Silent Hill Coming Annually? Konami Producer Reveals Plans

Silent Hill Coming Annually? Konami Producer Reveals Plans

Silent Hill is making a strong comeback, with Konami set on reinventing the horror franchise. Motoi Okamoto, the producer behind Silent Hill, revealed during an interview at Gamescom 2026 that Konami aims to release a new Silent Hill game each year.

In the interview, Okamoto stated, “Our goal is to, hopefully, have a new Silent Hill title releasing annually.” He also mentioned that the company plans to shift away from the original setting of the eerie Maine resort town for future entries.

He explained, “Staying locked into the same American setting would limit our storytelling options and might lead to player fatigue.” This approach is already evident in recent releases, such as Silent Hill f, which transports players to Japan, and Silent Hill Townfall, set in the Scottish seaside town of St. Amelia. Notably, Silent Hill Townfall introduces first-person horror to the franchise for the very first time.

Konami is working with external development studios to breathe new life into the series, and Okamoto is open to these teams shaping their own versions of Silent Hill. He emphasized that allowing each team to develop the franchise in their unique way enables creative freedom, stating that this “lets the franchise explore different environments and storytelling styles that suit each developer best.”

Looking ahead, Okamoto hinted at more silent hill projects in development, many of which have yet to be publicly announced. The franchise is already experimenting with innovative features, like the CRTV system in Silent Hill: Townfall, which offers a fresh twist on the iconic pocket radio from Silent Hill 2.

Finally, Okamoto expressed optimism about what’s to come, saying, “We have more experiences in the pipeline, including various types of games that we believe will surprise and delight players.” The future of Silent Hill, a series that defined an entire era of gaming on the PlayStation 2, certainly looks bright and full of exciting possibilities.

  • Metro 2039’s Gamescom Demo Showcases Intense Survival Action Similar to Prey

Metro 2039’s Gamescom Demo Showcases Intense Survival Action Similar to Prey

4A Games’ upcoming installment in the Metro series plunges players into a tense “hunter versus hunted” scenario, as Metro 2039 explores a post-apocalyptic Moscow filled with numerous threats to evade or eliminate. A four-hour demo showcased at Gamescom 2026 provides a clearer picture of the survival mechanics ahead of its February 2027 launch.

The Gamescom demo emphasizes nerve-wracking gameplay over the narrative. It begins with the protagonist, known as the Stranger, embarking on a mission to locate a henchman named Kaban at a bandit camp. Kaban is an operative working for the game’s main antagonist, Hunter.

A digital watch plays a crucial role during exploration, allowing players to monitor radiation filter levels in the game’s open-world segments. The watch emits periodic beeps, signaling how much time remains before hazards become deadly—adding to the game’s tense atmosphere.

The gameplay reveal highlights the use of a diegetic user interface and weapon handling without a crosshair, enhancing the feeling of anxiety and immersion. The demo also introduced a crafting system, where players can use metal and chemicals to create bullets and replenish gas mask filters, emphasizing resource management with limited supplies.

Resource gathering remains essential as players traverse Moscow’s devastated landscape. From previews, it’s known that a section of the demo takes place at a bandit camp, featuring an encounter with Nosalis, a recurring enemy type in series entries like Metro Exodus.

Players will have choices—avoid confrontations altogether, stealthily take down enemies, or fight head-on with guns blazing. However, engaging in combat requires careful resource management, as depleting supplies can be costly.

This combination of resource management, constant watch-checking, and lurking threats encapsulates the feeling of being hunted and reinforces that Metro 2039 will be the darkest entry yet. The developers have also indicated that the story’s darker tone was influenced by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, promising an intense and emotionally charged experience for players when it releases next year.

  • Metro 2039 Developers Reveal War’s Impact on Darker Story Direction

Metro 2039 Developers Reveal War’s Impact on Darker Story Direction

The Ukrainian game studio 4A Games, renowned for the highly praised Metro series, is set to release its most intense installment yet, titled Metro 2039, next year. With previews now available, developers have shared insights into how the Russia-Ukraine conflict that began in 2022 influenced the game’s development, steering the narrative into much darker territory.

In an interview with IGN, the creative director of Metro 2039 explained that the war’s impact was felt across every aspect of the project, starting with the team itself, then shaping the storyline, and ultimately affecting gameplay mechanics. He emphasized, “First of all, it’s impacted the team.”

He elaborated, “The world changes the team entirely — their mindset, their perspectives, and their understanding of what’s happening around them. As a result, it naturally introduces new visions and philosophies into the game through the team.”

An executive producer added that the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia forced them to rethink their narrative approach. “When Russia launched its full invasion of Ukraine, war came directly to our doorstep, and we had to adapt the kind of story we wanted to tell. We aimed to depict the consequences of war — what happens when conflict invades your life,” he said.

He noted that the shift toward a darker story marked a significant departure from their previous development plans, with most changes happening overnight due to the war. Audio lead Pavel Ulmer further revealed that the series’ connection to reality grew stronger because of the ongoing conflict, which led them to steer Metro 2039’s story toward a bleaker tone.

Following the more optimistic ending of Metro Exodus, fans might expect the sequel to expand on themes of hope amid a post-apocalyptic landscape. However, Metro 2039 takes a markedly different route.

The game is scheduled for release in February 2027, with 4A Games leading the development and Deep Silver handling publishing duties. Remarkably, Metro 2039 reached over 1 million wishlists quickly—shattering previous records for the series—even before Gamescom 2026, indicating strong anticipation among fans for this first-person shooter.

The trailer played a track by Bad Religion, “Ten in 2010,” hinting that some of the original Crazy Taxi songs might make an appearance in the upcoming game.

Players can sign up now for the closed network test of Crazy Taxi World Tour until August 31. The test begins on September 11, 2026, and a select small group of gamers will be chosen to participate. This means only a limited number of players will get the chance to experience the game before its official launch.

During the test, participants will be able to try out two multiplayer modes: Pickup Race and Cops n Cabbies. The demo includes two maps, four characters, six vehicles, and various customization options for your crazy taxis. Notably, the test will not feature the single-player story campaign.

The full version of Crazy Taxi World Tour will offer much more than just multiplayer. It will include a story mode starring Axel, who travels around the world managing his taxi business in the game’s narrative.

This was SEGA’s sole showcase at Gamescom ONL 2026, and there was no new info about Stranger Than Heaven during the event. Still, fans can look forward to experiencing the chaotic fun of Crazy Taxi World Tour and playing multiplayer with friends on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches in 2027.

  • CD Projekt RED Debuts New Logo Before Witcher 3 DLC Launch

CD Projekt Red is emphasizing the “red” in their name with an updated studio logo ahead of the upcoming launch of The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past DLC next year, as announced at Gamescom 2026. While the change may appear subtle, there’s more to it than meets the eye. The studio describes this as their official “2026 brand refresh” for future projects.

According to the company’s official press release, the new logo “builds upon the company’s history without straying from its roots.” So, what exactly has changed? First, the background color has shifted to a more fiery shade of red, replacing the previous, more subdued white background.

Second, the signature bird emblem, Rarog, has been redesigned. While its overall shape remains the same, its expression now looks more aggressive. Additionally, the bird’s beak is open, and its talons have been refined for a sharper appearance.

CD Projekt Red explained that “The modernized and more adaptable look allows us to better communicate our brand on a global scale, featuring a focused color palette that centers red as the core of our visual identity. The Rarog logo has been updated to appear more mature, confident, and energetic.”

This logo update comes on the heels of the Polish game studio’s announcement that The Witcher 4 is slated for release in 2028. Interestingly, CD Projekt Red is not the only company to refresh its branding this year. In July, Bethesda Softworks revealed a new logo to mark its 40th anniversary. However, like the logo change at CD Projekt Red, these updates did not bring any immediate news about The Witcher 4.

Currently, CD Projekt Red is preparing for the debut of Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2, which is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on October 20, 2026. What are your thoughts on the studio’s new logo? Do you prefer it over the previous design? Share your opinions in the comments below.

  • Dungeons & Dragons Warlock Gameplay Trailer Teases 2027 Launch

Dungeons & Dragons Warlock Gameplay Trailer Teases 2027 Launch

The first gameplay trailer for Dungeons and Dragons: Warlock was unveiled at Gamescom ONL 2026. The game is set to launch in 2027, though an exact release date has yet to be announced. The storyline centers on a female warlock named Kotori, who has entered into a pact with Tasha, an ancient deity. The character will be voiced by Maggie Robertson, known for her role in Resident Evil Village.

The gameplay trailer offered a glimpse into both combat mechanics and the narrative. Warlock features real-time action combat that combines spellcasting inspired by traditional D&D rules, similar in style to the latest Fable game. During the footage, several abilities and spells were showcased, demonstrating a diverse range of powers used in battles.

Importantly, the game appears to distinguish itself from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which also incorporated a D&D-inspired system. The trailer revealed several classic D&D monsters, including trolls, ghouls, and even a Beholder. The gameplay demonstrates teleportation, time-stopping, and rooting abilities, with a UI element in the bottom right corner indicating spell slots that deplete as magic is cast. The game also seems to feature an open world, with landscapes hinting at a dark, gritty universe.

The setting includes a dynamic day-night cycle and supports real-time item crafting. An intriguing aspect is that enemies can fight among themselves, adding more life and unpredictability to the environment. Sword combat appeared to be fluid and well-integrated with spellcasting, creating a seamless combat experience.

While character customization is not prominently highlighted—an area where D&D RPGs traditionally excel—the overall presentation looks promising, and anticipation is high. Fans and newcomers alike are eager to see more of what Warlock will bring to the table.

What do you think about the Warlock showcase at Gamescom ONL 2026? Are you excited to play, or not so much? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

  • Dawnwalker Blood Unveils Day One 60 FPS Mode After Fan Feedback

Dawnwalker Blood Unveils Day One 60 FPS Mode After Fan Feedback

The highly anticipated game, The Blood of Dawnwalker, will launch with a 60 FPS Performance Mode. Among the most expected titles of 2026, this game is considered one of the year’s most promising. Rebel Wolves listened to fan feedback and confirmed that a 60 FPS mode will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles on day one, when the game releases on September 3, 2026.

Rebel Wolves announced via a post on their official X account, “The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X on launch day through the update.”

In the accompanying image, the developers clarified, “Performance Mode was already in development, but it was still being tested.” They added that they delayed the announcement to avoid making incomplete promises.

In a follow-up thread linked to the original post, the devs explained that PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X will offer three different graphics modes: Performance mode aiming for 60 FPS, Balanced mode targeting 40 FPS, and Quality mode targeting 30 FPS. The PS5 Pro will also receive visual upgrades. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S is set to run only at 30 FPS.

The controversy arose when gameplay footage was shown on a PS5 Pro, revealing only the quality and balanced options without a 60 FPS mode. Fans pushed back strongly since the game was first announced in January 2025.

Many players pointed out that other games like Marvel’s Wolverine support 60 FPS on the standard PS5, arguing that a 60 FPS mode should be the minimum for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The devs had previously shared that the game could run at 60 FPS on ultra settings on PC, leading fans to question why console versions lag behind in performance.

Following the recent announcement of the performance mode, fans expressed their appreciation for the developers listening to their feedback and acting quickly with transparent communication. The Blood of Dawnwalker will launch on September 3, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
