SEGA has confirmed that Crazy Taxi World Tour will arrive in 2027, with a sneak peek at its multiplayer gameplay revealed at Gamescom ONL 2026. The new multiplayer trailer showcases multiple taxis speeding through urban streets as SEGA prepares for a closed network test scheduled for next month.
The latest multiplayer trailer introduces a brand-new Pickup Race mode. In this mode, up to six players compete against the clock across an open-world map, trying to drop off as many passengers as possible. The player with the most cash earned at the end takes the win.

Earlier, the first teaser for Crazy Taxi World Tour confirmed the return of Alex, along with classic characters like Gena, Joe, B.D., and Gus. The trailer played a track by Bad Religion, “Ten in 2010,” hinting that some of the original Crazy Taxi songs might make an appearance in the upcoming game.
Players can sign up now for the closed network test of Crazy Taxi World Tour until August 31. The test begins on September 11, 2026, and a select small group of gamers will be chosen to participate. This means only a limited number of players will get the chance to experience the game before its official launch.
During the test, participants will be able to try out two multiplayer modes: Pickup Race and Cops n Cabbies. The demo includes two maps, four characters, six vehicles, and various customization options for your crazy taxis. Notably, the test will not feature the single-player story campaign.
The full version of Crazy Taxi World Tour will offer much more than just multiplayer. It will include a story mode starring Axel, who travels around the world managing his taxi business in the game’s narrative.
This was SEGA’s sole showcase at Gamescom ONL 2026, and there was no new info about Stranger Than Heaven during the event. Still, fans can look forward to experiencing the chaotic fun of Crazy Taxi World Tour and playing multiplayer with friends on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches in 2027.
