A highly anticipated isometric action RPG for PS5 has just experienced a major delay. Moon Studios has decided to push back the launch of its upcoming game, No Rest for the Wicked, to 2027. The Ori developer explained the reasons behind this tough decision through a recent community update.
The game has been accessible in Early Access on PC for nearly two years. It was originally scheduled for a full debut on PS5 with its 1.0 release later this October. However, after the delay, the launch is now expected in March 2027 across all platforms. “The truth is, we’re a small team, and we refuse to cut corners,” Moon Studios shared in their latest community update.
“We’re close, but close isn’t enough for our full 1.0 launch. The additional months will allow us to enhance performance, refine the class system, and polish the entire game to meet the high standards our fans deserve. We’d rather take a few extra months than release something that isn’t quite perfect yet.”
In a video accompanying the announcement, Moon Studios CEO Thomas Maher addressed fans directly, noting that extensive playtesting has revealed there’s still work to do: “We’re not quite there yet.” He also reassured players that more closed and open beta tests are planned in the coming months, with one of the next major tests scheduled for December.
The studio also mentioned rewards for early supporters and pre-orders. Anyone who pre-purchased No Rest for the Wicked on PS5 or PC before January 1st, 2027, will receive special founder’s pack rewards.
Currently, No Rest for the Wicked is available in Early Access on Steam, with development ongoing for PS5, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
