Sony Interactive Entertainment has unexpectedly announced an indefinite delay for the upcoming PS5 accessory, the FlexStrike wireless fight stick. Originally scheduled for release in August 2026, its launch has now been pushed back “to a later date.”
The fight stick was intended to launch alongside the highly anticipated Sony-published game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, creating a strategic bundle to boost sales. However, the postponement raises questions about how it might impact marketing plans and consumer interest.
Sony released a statement explaining, “Due to unexpected production delays, the FlexStrike wireless fight stick will launch at a later date. We’re working diligently to ensure it provides the best possible experience for players, so we’re taking additional time to put the finishing touches on the product. We apologize for the delay and look forward to bringing the FlexStrike experience to the community when it launches.”
Fans who preordered the FlexStrike through PS Direct will receive updates via the company’s website, while customers who purchased through select retailers are advised to contact their stores for further information.
The FlexStrike is priced at $199.99 USD, €199.99 Euro, £179.99 GBP, and ¥34,980 JPY.
