A new action game in the popular PS5 series has just been released on the PlayStation Store to an encouraging early response. Developed by Behaviour Interactive and published by Devolver Digital, Serious Sam: Shatterverse introduces multiplayer chaos to current-generation consoles.
Serious Sam: Shatterverse is priced at $19.99. PS Plus members can enjoy a 10% launch discount, bringing the price down to $17.99 until September 7.
This game combines co-op gameplay, first-person shooting mechanics, and roguelite elements. Check out the launch trailer below:
According to the description, “As part of the Serious Program, a multidimensional force fighting against Uber Mental, you’ll travel through shifting universes to complete battles other Sams couldn’t. Mental has been hunting our hero across multiple realities, and in many timelines, he’s already victorious. Now, it’s your mission to fight back. To succeed, you’ll need to defeat his five lieutenants, each a powerful boss in search of total destruction.”
On the PlayStation Store, Serious Sam: Shatterverse currently holds a 4.37 out of 5-star rating. While critic reviews are scarce, those available have mostly been positive. Player feedback on Steam appears to be mixed, so ratings may fluctuate as more reviews are submitted.
