A nostalgic PS2 action game is making its way to the PS5. Ace Combat Zero, a beloved entry in the legendary series, is included with the new game release.
During Sony’s recent State of Play, Bandai Namco announced Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, the next chapter in the popular franchise. While its release is set for October 2, 2026, fans received an exciting surprise.
Pre-ordering any digital version of Ace Combat 8—whether standard or deluxe—will unlock a copy of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War from 2006. This will be a remastered PS5 port, optimized for a smoother gaming experience on modern consoles.
It’s not yet clear if this ported version of Ace Combat Zero will be available elsewhere after the launch of Ace Combat 8. Therefore, fans eager to add it to their collection should consider pre-ordering before the game’s release. Originally launched in 2006, Ace Combat Zero is a fan-favorite and provides the backstory for the entire Ace Combat universe.
The game is renowned for introducing the Ace Style gauge system, a mechanic that influences mission outcomes based on player choices throughout the game.
In addition to Ace Combat Zero, those who pre-order Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will also receive a special F-14A skin to use in the new game. The digital deluxe edition offers extra perks, including three days of early access, a Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher, customizable cosmetics, and other digital bonuses.
