If you’ve recently upgraded to the HP ZBook Fury 16 G11 Mobile Workstation and found that the fingerprint reader isn’t working, don’t worry—it’s a common issue that can usually be fixed with a few straightforward steps.

First, check to see if the fingerprint driver has been installed correctly. Often, the driver isn’t included or recognized right after setup. To fix this, visit the official HP website and search for your specific model. Look for the latest fingerprint driver compatible with your Windows version and download it.

Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. After installation, restart your laptop to ensure the changes take effect.

If Windows still doesn’t recognize the fingerprint device, go to the Device Manager. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting Device Manager. Look for any entries under “Biometric devices” or a similar category. If you see a device with a yellow warning icon, right-click it and choose “Update driver.” Select “Browse my computer for driver software,” then navigate to the folder where you saved the driver.

Sometimes, even after installing the driver, Windows doesn’t automatically enable the fingerprint reader. To fix this, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Under the “Windows Hello Fingerprint” section, try setting up your fingerprint again.

If all else fails, check for Windows updates. Sometimes, updating your operating system can resolve hardware recognition issues.

Following these steps usually restores the fingerprint reader’s functionality. If you continue to have trouble, reaching out to HP support or visiting their online troubleshooting guides can also help.
