If you’re facing issues with a brand-new HP printer and want to connect it to your Windows 11 PC securely, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get everything set up safely and quickly.

First, it’s important to always use the official HP website to contact support. Avoid third-party sites or scam links that may appear online. To do this, go to support.hp.com/contact directly from your web browser. Once there, sign in with your HP account, enter your printer’s serial number, and the system will verify your warranty. It will then provide you with a secure phone number and case number to contact HP support safely.

While you wait to speak with a live agent, you can attempt to connect your printer now using your PC. Your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 uses the HP Smart app for setup, which will handle the initial wireless connection securely.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Reset your printer’s network settings. Make sure your printer is turned on. Press and hold both the Wireless button and the Cancel (X) button simultaneously for about 3 to 5 seconds. The power button will start flashing, and the Wireless light should blink blue, indicating that the printer is ready for setup.

2. On your Windows 11 PC, open the Microsoft Store app. Search for “HP Smart” and install the app if you haven’t already.

3. Launch the HP Smart app. Tap on “Add Printer” or click the plus (+) sign to start adding your printer.

4. Let the app detect your printer. When it shows up in setup mode, follow the on-screen instructions. The app will securely transfer your Wi-Fi password from your PC to the printer without you having to do anything more.

Hopefully, this quick setup helps you get your printer working today. Remember, always use official channels when dealing with support to keep your information safe, and avoid scams. Once your printer is connected, you can start printing without any further hassle.
