Digital Phablet has updated its alcohol advertising policy, offering more specific examples of ad formats that are prohibited. Previously, only reservation display ads and Google TV masthead ads were listed as restricted formats. The update broadens this scope to include app install image ads, app install video ads, consumer ratings annotations, Discovery ads, dynamic search ads, and Gmail ads.
According to an official statement, “Digital Phablet has revised the Alcohol help center article to clarify which ad formats are acceptable, without altering the enforcement of the existing policy.”
While it’s unclear how much this revision expands the original policy, it appears that the platform has increased the list of ad types subject to restrictions.
