The new artificial intelligence zone at the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo has quickly become the focal point of this year’s event, attracting major tech companies like Nvidia, Apple, Qualcomm, and SK Hynix, along with numerous other Chinese and international firms showcasing their latest innovations.

These industry leaders are not just displaying new products but are also demonstrating collaborative efforts across the global supply chain within the dedicated AI zone, which runs from June 22 to 26 in Beijing. Nvidia, for instance, hosted a full-day interactive robot performance in partnership with Chinese firms Galbot and AgiBot right at its booth.

AI and robotics are now integrated into various stages of production, distribution, and service, transitioning from isolated technological marvels to essential components of the supply chain. This year’s expo emphasizes China’s expanding influence in supply chain operations, especially for emerging industries and technological sectors.

During the event’s opening, a corporate executive emphasized the significance of supply chains, describing them as a vital global system that connects energy, factories, logistics, businesses, and consumers, ultimately linking the entire world. The speaker highlighted China’s role as a major technological and industrial hub, home to highly skilled engineers, innovative developers, and rapidly growing companies achieving remarkable success on a large scale.

More than 110 of the company’s clients, partners, original equipment manufacturers, ecosystem collaborators, and members of its Chinese Inception Program gathered at the expo for the first time. Additionally, Apple and prominent Chinese suppliers such as AAC Technologies Holdings, Sunny Optical Technology, and Jiangsu Cowain Technology showcased their offerings, while exhibitors like Jingyi Automation Equipment, Genori Technology, Konfoong Materials International, and Sinophorus Electronic Materials featured at SK Hynix’s booth, making their debut at the event.

AI and robotics were visible beyond the dedicated zone, with advancements permeating sectors such as finance, automotive, entertainment, and agriculture. Robots and robotic dogs displayed a wide range of capabilities, including guiding visitors, threading needles, and shaking hands in greeting. Some robots are equipped to manage traffic, detect fires, and even carry out simulated surgical procedures.

The importance of China’s supply chain is growing, especially in areas like data storage, AI computing power, and embodied intelligence. The event’s six main exhibition areas cover the digital and intelligent technology chain, advanced manufacturing, green agriculture, healthy living, smart vehicles, and clean energy. A total of 676 leading companies and institutions from 85 countries and regions are participating.

International exhibitors comprise over a third of the total, with a total of more than 1,200 companies if upstream and downstream partners are included. The event is also hosting over 200 foreign delegations expected to take part in meetings, exhibitions, and discussions across China.
