Similar to It Takes Two and A Way Out, Split Fiction is designed as a cooperative game that necessitates partnering up with another player. However, what’s new this time is that the game supports full cross-platform play, allowing you to embark on this journey with a friend regardless of the platform they’re using. As an added bonus, Split Fiction features a Friend’s Pass that permits two players to experience the game on their own devices with just one of them needing to buy it. If you want to learn how to utilize this fantastic feature, here’s a guide on how the Friend’s Pass operates.

How to Use the Friend’s Pass

Since Split Fiction can only be enjoyed with a partner, the ability for two individuals to play with only one purchase—even across different systems—makes perfect sense. However, the process is a bit more intricate than merely launching a split-screen game. Here’s how to set up the Friend’s Pass.

Step 1: One player must purchase a copy of Split Fiction on any available platform.

Step 2: The player who does not own the game needs to download the Friend’s Pass from the game’s store page on their platform.

Step 3: After the Friend’s Pass is installed, both players should start the game on their respective devices.

Step 4: The player with the purchased copy of Split Fiction can send an invitation to their friend using the Friend’s Pass, enabling the two of them to play the entire game together.

It’s important to note that the player using only the Friend’s Pass will be unable to play Split Fiction unless they receive an invite from someone who owns the game. There is also a free trial version available, but this is limited to the initial levels of gameplay.
