President Donald Trump’s close aide, Natalie Harp, is once again under the spotlight following remarks made by Senator Jon Ossoff during an August 16 rally in Atlanta. Ossoff accused Trump of preferring “ballroom and travel with Natalie,” sparking questions about her increasingly significant presence around the president. When asked about Ossoff’s comments, Trump sidestepped the issue and instead criticized a CNN reporter, with the White House condemning the question as “disgusting and inhumane.” This controversy has reignited discussions about Harp’s professional duties and her close proximity to Trump.
Harp first gained national recognition in 2020 when she introduced herself at the Republican National Convention as a “formerly forgotten American from California.” She expressed admiration for Trump during her speech, likening him to George Bailey, the relatable hero played by James Stewart in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” according to The Guardian. Over time, Harp advanced within Trump’s inner circle, becoming an official executive assistant, earning a $150,000 yearly salary.
Initially, she operated behind the scenes, providing Trump with printed documents, briefings, and other vital information, earning her the nickname “human printer.” The 35-year-old is a Point Loma Nazarene University alumna and earned an MBA from Liberty University. She has publicly supported Trump’s political endeavors, sharing on LinkedIn her experience as a bone cancer survivor with the phrase: “I’m Living Proof — the Party of Healthcare is Trump’s.”
Since returning to office, Harp has been frequently seen accompanying Trump at official events and during travel. Last month, she was among a small group of individuals who boarded a military aircraft with Trump after he switched planes while returning from Turkey. Ossoff’s remarks have cast her further into the public eye, spotlighting her transition from a behind-the-scenes role to a prominent figure within Trump’s inner circle.
