Geralt has dated multiple women throughout The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its two expansion packs—seven to be exact. With the upcoming Songs of the Past DLC set to release next year, it appears he will add a new romantic interest, Lilla, who is a fresh character introduced in this upcoming content.
Recently, CD Projekt RED released new gameplay footage during a special live stream at Gamescom 2026 Day 1. This preview provided the first glimpse of the stunning setting in Letten, the world where the DLC takes place, and showcased Lilla in action.
During the stream, Jakub Rokosz, the director of the Songs of the Past DLC, revealed that Lilla is related to Dandelion, who is well-known as Geralt’s close friend and a charismatic bard. Lilla is described as “intelligent, adventurous, and a little rebellious,” traits that make her an ideal love interest for Geralt.
A leaked image from the trailer shows Lilla carrying a lantern in the wilderness, emphasizing her mysterious and intriguing presence in the game.
In a preview article by Eurogamer, the game’s director hinted at players experiencing Lilla’s story firsthand, saying, “We want players to experience this on their own. We don’t want to spoil anything.” This suggests that her romance will be a meaningful part of the DLC’s narrative.
Additionally, CD Projekt RED’s content strategist shared on the live stream that, “We know you’re eager for more romance options for Geralt. Yes, there will be more. He deserves it.” This strongly indicates that Lilla will be a romance choice in the upcoming expansion.
Since Songs of the Past is said to be Geralt’s final quest, as shown in the Gamescom trailer, it makes sense that he’ll have one last romantic opportunity before Ciri becomes the main character in The Witcher 4.
Before the new DLC drops, players will get the chance to revisit Geralt’s original love interests in a remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The upcoming free upgrade, titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, will feature enhanced visuals, more fluid combat, new finishing moves, and more when it releases this September.
