New PS5 Action RPG Revealed — Looks Exciting!

A new action RPG exclusive to the PS5, announced in 2024, has finally showcased its gameplay, and it looks quite exciting. A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei (initially known as Project Jinyiwei) is a martial arts adventure set in ancient China, with development support from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Take a look at the first gameplay trailer below:

In this game, players assume the role of an “ordinary boatman” who unexpectedly needs to infiltrate the Jinyiwei, the imperial guards of the Ming Dynasty. Acting as an undercover agent for the black market, players will employ martial arts skills to complete various missions.

According to an official description, the game invites players to “explore the late Ming Dynasty during a period when the empire teeters on the edge of collapse. Immerse yourself in the Wuxia world of the Chinese Ming Dynasty and navigate survival through your choices, revealing the rise and fall of your journey.”

A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei is part of Sony’s China Hero Project. It will also be available on PC alongside the PS5, though a release date has not yet been announced.

What are your thoughts on the gameplay so far?

  • PS5 Upgrade Likely for Hit 2018 PS4 RPG

PS5 Upgrade Likely for Hit 2018 PS4 RPG

An upgrade for the PS5, possibly free, for one of the top PS4 RPGs has been leaked by Sony. The first hint of an unannounced PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance appeared last July, but recent PS Store listings now explicitly mention the PS5 version, suggesting an upcoming release.

Leaked PS5 Upgrade for Kingdom Come: Deliverance—Will It Be Free?

A now-removed PS Store description indicated that the PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance would feature enhanced graphics, including 4K resolution, smoother frame rates, high-resolution textures, and more. The blurb claimed, “Medieval Bohemia has never looked so beautiful.” This information appeared on multiple regional PS Store pages before being taken down, although screenshots confirming the details have circulated online.

Regarding whether the upgrade will be free, publishers typically offer free PS5 upgrades to owners of the PS4 version. However, some companies require a small fee to cover the costs of porting games. We’ll have to wait to see what Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver decide. It’s also likely that they’ll release a bundle of Kingdom Come parts 1 and 2 for new players.

  • Exciting PS2 Game Remake Offers Free PS5 Demo and DLC

Exciting PS2 Game Remake Offers Free PS5 Demo and DLC

The PlayStation Store offers a variety of PS5 demos for upcoming titles, ranging from popular series like Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties to smaller indie games such as Dark Auction. These demos give PS5 players the chance to try out new games before making a purchase decision, including a highly anticipated PS2 remake coming soon.

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced that a free demo for Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will be available on PS5 starting March 5. Players who enjoy the demo can transfer their save data to the full game. The recently released teaser trailer provides a glimpse of the remake, highlighting the updated visuals and details about different editions of the game.

In Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, twin sisters find themselves trapped in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits. Armed only with the Camera Obscura, a device capable of capturing and sealing away supernatural entities, they navigate this eerie landscape. The remake features new gameplay elements, a fresh ending with the song “Utsushie” composed by Tsuki Amano, as well as new side quests and locations to explore.

Additionally, a free DLC for the game will be released, featuring content inspired by the critically acclaimed 2023 survival horror game Silent Hill f. Further details about this collaboration DLC will be shared in the coming weeks.

The game will officially launch for PS5 on March 16, priced at $49.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition also will be available for $69.99, which includes a digital art book, soundtrack, and various cosmetic items. Preorders for any edition will come with special bonus content.

  • Exciting New Adventure Game Coming Soon to PS5

Exciting New Adventure Game Coming Soon to PS5

Although the PlayStation is best known for its blockbuster titles like The Last of Us and God of War, it also hosts a selection of unique indie games such as Baby Steps and Cairn. Included among these is an upcoming PS5 adventure game developed by a solo indie creator that shows great promise.

    What Is Project Songbird?

Project Songbird is developed by FYRE Games, an indie studio based in Pittsburgh headed by solo developer Connor Rush, who previously worked on Summerland and We Never Left. Drawing inspiration from titles like Alan Wake, Silent Hill, and The Stanley Parable, this upcoming game offers a four to five-hour experience centered around a cinematic, first-person narrative adventure with horror elements. It’s set deep within the Appalachian forest, and below is a trailer and overview to give gamers a sense of its story and atmosphere:

    [YouTube Trailer Link]

“Set deep beneath the isolating canopy of the Appalachian forest, Project Songbird unfolds as a surreal and psychological tale that delves into the dark aspects of the creative process. Players assume the role of Dakota, a struggling musician suffering from writer’s block who retreats to a remote log cabin to record a new album. As they search among the pines for inspiration, darker forces lurking in the shadows reveal themselves — proving that not all inspiration is beneficial.”

The voice cast includes Valerie Rose Lohman (known for What Remains of Edith Finch and Wolfenstein: Youngblood), Jonah Scott (Dying Light 2: Stay Human and Date Everything), and Aleks Le (Persona 3: Reloaded, Marvel Rivals, Ghost of Yotei). The game will also feature a “beautifully dynamic and haunting” soundtrack created by Jacob Noska of Auric Echoes and Jonah Henthorne.

Project Songbird is scheduled to release on PS5 on March 26. For gamers who also have a gaming PC, a free demo will be available on Steam and itch.io.

Additionally, another horror-adjacent adventure game for PS5, Dark Auction, has just been released and is now available for purchase on the PlayStation Store.

  • February PS Plus Essential Free Games Are Official—Great News!

February PS Plus Essential Free Games Are Official—Great News!

Sony has announced the complete lineup of free games for PS Plus Essential in February 2026, confirming a recent leak. The upcoming titles will include Undisputed, along with several other notable games, replacing the largely unpopular lineup from January.

The February 2026 free game lineup features four titles: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PS4), Subnautica: Below Zero (PS5 and PS4), Ultros (PS4 and PS5), and Undisputed (PS5). These games will be available starting Tuesday, February 3.

Players have until the end of Monday, February 2, to claim the January freebies: Need for Speed Unbound (PS5), Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (PS4 and PS5), and Core Keeper (PS4 and PS5).

Additionally, Sony is currently offering select users up to a 25% discount on 12-month PS Plus Extra and Premium memberships. This discount can be applied multiple times, allowing users to stack memberships for ongoing savings.

After applying the discount and renewing your subscription, remember to disable auto-renewal—it’s considered a “cancellation” by Sony, but your membership remains active until it expires. Once auto-renew is turned off, the discount can be used again, enabling you to extend your membership for the following year.

While no discounts are currently available for PS Plus Essential, this is a solid opportunity for those considering an upgrade.

  • Top Hidden PS5 Gem of 2021—75% Off on PS Store!

Top Hidden PS5 Gem of 2021—75% Off on PS Store!

One of the most underrated PS5 titles of 2021 is currently available at its lowest price through a limited-time deal on the PS Store, and it’s highly recommended. Terminator: Resistance Enhanced is an upgraded version of the 2019 PS4 shooter that unexpectedly gained a fan following.

    ### Terminator: Resistance Enhanced is only $12.49 in a limited-time PS Store promotion

The game is priced at just $12.49 until February 5. If you previously purchased the PS4 version before the upgrade was released, you’re eligible for a free copy, so it’s worth checking your library first.

The PS4 version is also discounted to $9.99. However, it’s unclear whether buying the PS4 version now automatically grants PS5 owners a free upgrade to Terminator: Resistance Enhanced, so proceed with caution if you’re considering that option.

No matter which version you pick up, this game offers the perfect Terminator experience on modern gaming systems.

“Step into the events leading up to the decisive final battle for humanity’s survival against the machines,” according to an official description. “Terminator: Resistance is a first-person shooter set during the ‘Future War’ scenario glimpsed in the classic films, ‘The Terminator’ and ‘T2: Judgment Day.’”

This is a single-player adventure, and PS Plus Premium members can stream it via cloud gaming.

  • PS5 Update Sneakily Introduces New Theme with Unflattering Look

PS5 Update Sneakily Introduces New Theme with Unflattering Look

Sony quietly released a new PS5 theme with a recent system update, but it’s arguably not its most creative effort. The Welcome Hub now features a static background inspired by the upcoming Bungie game Marathon, and it lacks any real excitement or flair.

The theme is simply the Marathon artwork displayed in a static image. It’s only the second non-animated, game-based background officially offered by Sony, with the other being a static theme based on MLB: The Show.

This addition feels somewhat pointless since players can easily create their own themes, especially once Marathon launches in March and more assets become available. Official backgrounds usually stand out because of their animations and distinctive PlayStation-themed visuals, which are missing here.

While it’s not a huge issue, adding even a simple animation would have improved the overall presentation.

Additionally, both the PS5 and PS4 received system firmware updates today. If you don’t see the new theme or the update yet, don’t worry—Sony has announced that both will be gradually rolled out in phases.

  • New PlayStation Studios Game Set for March 2026 Release

New PlayStation Studios Game Set for March 2026 Release

PlayStation Studios tends to release a few titles annually, but one series consistently drops in March: MLB The Show. Fans can expect MLB The Show 26 to be available for PS5 this coming March, featuring a familiar cover athlete returning to the spotlight.

The cover athlete for MLB The Show 26 is Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. Those familiar with the series will remember that Judge was also featured on the cover of MLB The Show 18. This year’s cover showcases Judge in his Team USA World Baseball Classic uniform, an element teased by San Diego Studio to be part of the Diamond Dynasty mode in this edition. Check out the trailer below announcing the game’s cover athlete.

“Aaron continues to rewrite history,” reads the official statement about Judge. “He was our cover star in 2018 after a record-breaking rookie season in 2017. Since then, he’s become a three-time American League MVP, a seven-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger award winner, and holds the AL single-season home run record with 62 homers. He’s also the 2026 Team USA World Baseball Classic Captain. These highlights are just a few of his numerous achievements, and his performances inspire players, athletes, and fans worldwide. We’re thrilled to have him back as the cover athlete for MLB The Show 26.”

The game will release for PS5 on March 17. Players purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition will gain four days of early access starting March 13. Preorders for both standard and deluxe editions open on February 3 at 12 p.m. ET.

On February 3, San Diego Studio will also release the official gameplay trailer, featuring in-game footage along with updates on familiar features and some “special surprises.”

Additionally, PlayStation Studios plans to launch its extraction shooter, Marathon, on March 5.

  • PS5 Gains Access to Nintendo’s Exclusive Games After 30 Years

PS5 Gains Access to Nintendo’s Exclusive Games After 30 Years

PS5 gamers are in for a treat with the release of three classic Nintendo-exclusive adventure titles more than three decades after their original debut. Limited Run Games continues to bring nostalgic hits to new platforms, and later this week, the Nickelodeon Splat Pack is set to hit PlayStation, Switch, and Steam.

Scheduled for January 30, the Nickelodeon Splat Pack features three beloved titles from the 1990s: Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (1995), Nickelodeon G.U.T.S (1994), and Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day (1994). While Aaahh!!! Real Monsters was also released on the Sega Genesis, these titles for the Super Nintendo were exclusive until now.

The bundle is priced at $14.99, and the PlayStation Store page is now available for wishlisting. Here’s a brief rundown of each game:

    Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina need to pass their Monster midterm exams to officially earn their monster licenses! The trio must collaborate and deliver a frightful performance to earn a combined “gross” grade.

    Nickelodeon G.U.T.S
It’s more than just skill — it takes GUTS to dunk on a 12-foot hoop, navigate Tornado Run, and conquer the legendary Aggro Crag.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day
Help Spunky out! He’s on the loose in O’Town and loves to get into trouble. O’Town is a tricky place filled with puzzles and pitfalls that Spunky needs help navigating.

A tweet from Limited Run Games highlights the upcoming release, mentioning that fans can relive the 90s with the Nickelodeon Splat Pack arriving on January 30 across digital stores, including PlayStation, Switch, and Steam. The pack includes GUTS, Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day, and both 16-bit versions of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters.

  • Hidden Gem: 2023 PS5 Game at 90% Off on PS Store

Hidden Gem: 2023 PS5 Game at 90% Off on PS Store

A 2023 PS5 game that divided players is now available at its lowest price in a new PS Store deal, which runs through February. Immortals of Aveum is a single-player shooter published by Electronic Arts and developed by Ascendant Studios, whose future remains uncertain. The game is currently discounted by 90%.

Immortals of Aveum is only $6.99 in a limited-time PS Store deal

PS5 users can purchase Immortals of Aveum for just $6.99 until February 5. After that, the price will jump back up to $69.99. PS Plus members should check their libraries first, as the game was previously offered as a free monthly download.

“Immortals of Aveum is a single-player first-person magic shooter that follows Jak’s journey as he joins an elite group of battlemages to save a world on the brink of chaos,” an overview states. “With armies fighting on both sides of the Everwar, he must uncover the secrets of Aveum’s troubled past if there’s any hope of saving its future.”

When it launched, Immortals of Aveum received mixed reviews. It’s not a bad game—PSLS praised it—yet it suffered from weak execution. The game shows some real potential, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like EA plans to give it another shot.

Ascendant Studios, the developer, reportedly faced near extinction after the commercial failure of Immortals of Aveum. An official closure has not been announced, and their current status remains unclear.

  • Silent Launch: Free PS5 Demo for Exciting New Game

Silent Launch: Free PS5 Demo for Exciting New Game

The PlayStation Store has released a free demo for an intriguing upcoming PS5 game that’s nearing the finish line of development. Baptiste is a psychological horror game where a mother and her son find themselves trapped in a strange new home with a creepy doll.

Despite being announced in March 2025, it wasn’t until October that developer Firenut Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for Baptiste. The campaign was successful by November, raising €6,118 from 123 supporters.

Now, with development almost complete, all PS5 users can download a free demo from the PlayStation Store — no PS Plus subscription needed.

According to the official description, “Sara and her son, Tom, are seeking a fresh start after a family tragedy on Jagged Shore Cliff, a remote area in the UK.” In their new home, a dusty cabinet contains Baptiste, an unsettling doll with a foreboding warning: “Never release this from its glass prison.” What should be a safe haven turns into a nightmare that defies explanation.

Baptiste is set to release in early 2026. PS Plus Premium members will have the ability to stream the demo.

  • PS5 Launches One of the Most Popular PS1 Classics

PS5 Launches One of the Most Popular PS1 Classics

A ratings board may have accidentally revealed an upcoming unannounced PS5 release of one of the most beloved PS1 titles. Ubisoft’s 1995 platformer Rayman is making a comeback with the release of the Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, according to a listing from the Australian Classification system.

As reported by Gematsu, the rating is exclusively for a PS5 and Nintendo Switch version. There’s no mention of other platforms, but we’ll need an official statement to confirm those details.

The Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition is reportedly developed by Atari and will be distributed by U&I Entertainment, which has a history of handling physical releases for Ubisoft titles.

Popular leaker Tom Henderson states that Ubisoft is currently working on two Rayman projects, one of which is the leaked 30th Anniversary Edition. Henderson suggests that its release is imminent—“very, very soon.”

The other project is believed to be a remake of Rayman Legends.

We will update our audience once more details are available. Ubisoft could certainly use some positive news after recent setbacks, including the cancellation of the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake.

  • Exciting News Ahead for PS5 Shooter Fans

Exciting News Ahead for PS5 Shooter Fans

The Game Awards traditionally wrap up with a major game reveal, but last year’s ending was quite the controversy. Instead of unveiling a new project from an established studio like Naughty Dog and their game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, we were shown Highguard—a PvP raid shooter developed by the team behind Apex Legends and Titanfall.

Since that reveal, Wildlight Entertainment has been largely quiet, but recent updates suggest promising news for eager fans.

According to a recent tweet from the official Highguard Twitter account, Wildlight will host the Highguard Launch Showcase on Monday, January 26, at 10 a.m. PT—the same day the game is scheduled to launch. The event promises an in-depth look at the game, with a comprehensive gameplay demo, details on plans for the first year, and more.

As of now, Highguard will be available on PC starting January 26. The PlayStation 5 version has been confirmed, but the exact release date remains unannounced, as a PlayStation Store listing has not appeared yet. It’s possible that PS5 players could be surprised with the game’s launch day.

Here’s a quick overview of Highguard for PS5 gamers interested in the multiplayer shooter:

“From the creators of Apex Legends and Titanfall, Highguard is a PvP raid shooter where players become Wardens—arcane gunslingers sent to fight for control of a mythical continent. They’ll clash against rival Warden crews over the Shieldbreaker, then raid and destroy enemy bases to claim territory. This new kind of shooter combines fast-paced combat with strategic team play.”

  • Classic Franchise Returns: New PS4 & PS5 Launch Date Announced

Classic Franchise Returns: New PS4 & PS5 Launch Date Announced

The 1990s were a golden era for video game mascots. Sonic the Hedgehog from Sega and Crash Bandicoot from PlayStation became iconic platformers enjoyed on multiple consoles. While not as universally adored as those legendary characters, Bubsy the yarn-collecting feline has somehow endured through the years. Now, Bubsy is gearing up for his next journey in Bubsy 4D, and PlayStation fans won’t have to wait much longer to play.

According to a new trailer, Atari announced that Bubsy 4D will launch on May 22 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Currently, interested players can add the game to their PlayStation Store wishlist. When available for pre-order, it will be priced at $19.99.

Here’s the latest trailer along with a brief overview of what players can expect from Bubsy 4D:

“Join Bubsy on a brand-new intergalactic platforming adventure! Believe it or not, the most notorious wisecracking bobcat is back in 3D with fresh challenges, new moves, and even more personality—this time, in space! Sprint, jump, glide, and roll across alien planets, fight robotic sheep, and gather vast quantities of yarn. What could possibly go wrong?”

Bubsy first debuted in 1993 with Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. The franchise saw three additional releases in the 1990s, with Bubsy 3D in 1996 marking its last appearance for quite some time. The series went dormant for over two decades until Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back arrived in 2017, though it received mostly negative reviews. Despite that, Bubsy: Paws on Fire! came out in 2019. Bubsy 4D represents his second comeback and the first 3D game since Bubsy 3D.
