  • PS Plus Premium Introduces Exciting Free Game Trials

PS Plus Premium Introduces Exciting Free Game Trials

After a long break, PS Plus Premium members finally have access to free full game trials that are definitely worth trying out. PS5 owners can now explore two new role-playing games—one inspired by classic fairy tales and the other a fresh installment in a well-known series.

The game trials on PS Plus Premium don’t quite match the depth of free demos available on the PS Store.

One of the new trials, Escape from Ever After, launched in January 2026 on PS5. This charming, colorful game features fairy tale and storybook characters fighting against capitalism. Premium subscribers can experience a one-hour trial of this upbeat adventure.

The game’s description reads: “When Flynt Buckler, a classic fairy tale hero, storms the castle of his evil dragon nemesis Tinder, he discovers the once-threatening fortress has been turned into corporate offices. The villainous dragon is missing, replaced by drone-like workers sipping coffee and filing reports. What’s happened here?”

The other new trial is for Pathologic 3, the third entry in the Russian RPG series that first debuted 21 years ago. Premium members get four hours of gameplay with this trial.

According to the PS Store, “Daniil Dankovsky, a young doctor from the capital, is in search of the secret to immortality. His journey takes him to a remote town ravaged by a mysterious plague that will wipe it out in 12 days. Now, it’s up to him to explore the town’s past, present, and future—uncover answers, and try to stop the deadly outbreak.”

  • Upcoming PS Plus Games in March: PS5 & PS4 Gems Exiting

Upcoming PS Plus Games in March: PS5 & PS4 Gems Exiting

Sony has not yet announced the list of games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in March 2026. Based on typical patterns, we’re making our monthly predictions about which titles might be leaving soon. Similar to February, we don’t expect any major removals in March, but we recommend that those who haven’t played Arcade Paradise on PS5 or PS4 give it a priority — it’s a fantastic game.

Arcade Paradise is a surprising find that was added to the service in March 2025, with its VR version also included but already removed from PS Plus. Usually, games stay on the platform for either 12 or 24 months, depending on the publisher. On rare occasions, some titles leave after just six months.

Since Arcade Paradise has been available for a year and its VR version has already been taken down, it’s likely we’ll see it leave in March.

In addition to Arcade Paradise, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was added a year ago. Ubisoft titles tend to stick around longer, especially when part of Ubisoft+. Other games added in March 2025 that players should keep an eye on include Syberia: The World Before, You Suck at Parking, and Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy.

Looking at titles added two years ago, LEGO DC Supervillains and Blood Bowl 3 are still available on PS Plus. Lego games tend to have long-lasting availability on the service.

Sony will officially reveal the March departures on February 17.

  • 2026 GOTY Contender: New PS5 Exclusive Action Game’s Reviews

2026 GOTY Contender: New PS5 Exclusive Action Game’s Reviews

A brand new PlayStation 5 exclusive has just dropped, and the action game is earning such high praise that it could very well be a top contender for Game of the Year in 2026.

What new PS5 exclusive is garnering widespread acclaim?

Nioh 3, the latest installment from Team Ninja in the popular Nioh action series, is now available on PS5. The game is receiving exceptional reviews. According to OpenCritic, the review aggregator, it currently holds an 87 score with 95% of critics recommending it.

Eurogamer’s Dom Peppiatt, who rated it 4 out of 5, praised the game’s innovative approach, stating, “Nioh 3 builds upon the formula once again, elevating an already outstanding ‘masocore’ series to new heights.”

Game Rant’s Josh Cotts, who gave it a 9 out of 10, echoed similar sentiments, mentioning that the game “advances movement and player freedom more than any previous entry.”

VG247 also awarded it 4 out of 5, describing it as “the confident outcome of shaking up Nioh’s nearly decade-old formula, one only surpassed by Team Ninja’s steady craftsmanship.”

PlayStation Lifestyle’s Tyler Treese gave it a 9 out of 10, highlighting that “Nioh 3 is the best in the franchise so far. With varied combat and rewarding exploration of open fields, Team Ninja has created a distinctive and satisfying action RPG. Whether you’re new to the series or a longtime fan, there’s plenty of fun to be had solo or with friends in this fantastic PS5 title.”

Nioh 3 is an action-role-playing game and the third entry in Team Ninja’s Nioh series. The storyline takes place after the events of the previous titles, with players taking control of Tokugawa Takechiyo, grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu. As with the earlier games, players will face off against yokai and other supernatural entities.

The first two games in the series were major commercial successes, with Nioh 2, released in 2020, serving as a prequel to the original. Overall, the Nioh series has sold over 8 million copies worldwide as of last year.

  • New PS5 Action Game in Popular Series Sparks Mixed Reviews

New PS5 Action Game in Popular Series Sparks Mixed Reviews

A new action game for the PS5 has just been released, and it’s receiving mixed reviews within a beloved franchise.

What’s the latest PS5 game available now?

Carmageddon: Rogue Shift, the newest installment in the Carmageddon series, launched today. Originally debuting in 1997, Carmageddon is a franchise centered around vehicular combat. As the name suggests, these games primarily involve players racing against others while trying to wreck opponents’ cars as much as possible in various environments.

The latest release, Rogue Shift, introduces a roguelite twist to the classic vehicular combat gameplay. As the title indicates, Rogue Shift combines the chaos and adrenaline of the original Carmageddon games with the procedural generation and replayability features of roguelite mechanics.

On OpenCritic, a site that compiles reviews, the game hasn’t received an official score yet, but early feedback has been somewhat positive. Our sister site, ComingSoon, gave it an 8 out of 10, with Tyler Treese commenting that it “takes a few runs to really shift into gear, but once you’re using better vehicles and upgraded weapons, it becomes quite fun.”

GameSpew’s Richard Seagrave generally liked the game but pointed out some flaws. He scored it 7 out of 10, noting, “The core gameplay is fun, but Carmageddon: Rogue Shift is ultimately limited by its almost nonexistent variety in events.”

On the more critical side, Insider Gaming’s Michael Straw rated the game 5 out of 10, criticizing its controls and game modes. He mentioned, “Sometimes it works and can be enjoyable. Unfortunately, frustrating driving mechanics, responsiveness issues, unimpressive AI, and repetitive race types and boss battles hinder the experience, which may disappoint longtime fans.”

  • Major 2K Franchise Closes Door on PS4 Release

Major 2K Franchise Closes Door on PS4 Release

One of 2K’s major franchises is officially moving away from last-generation consoles and will not be releasing on PlayStation 4.

The upcoming release in the WWE 2K series, WWE 2K26, is scheduled for March 13, 2026. When it launches, it will completely skip the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, focusing only on newer consoles and PC.

For the first time since WWE 2K games made their debut on PlayStation 4, the latest installment will only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

WWE 2K26 marks the 26th entry in this long-running franchise, following WWE 2K25 released in 2025. The cover athlete is superstar CM Punk, who makes his return to the game after nearly a decade away from the WWE.

This new version introduces a selection of classic wrestling match types, including Dumpster matches, “I Quit” matches, Inferno matches, and the 3 Stages of Hell. Additionally, the popular 2K Showcase mode is back, this time highlighting CM Punk’s career and his recent return to WWE.

  • Epic PS5 Adventure Game – 85% Off on PS Store with DLC

Epic PS5 Adventure Game – 85% Off on PS Store with DLC

A lesser-known 2022 adventure game for PS5 and PS4 is currently available at an 85% discount on the PS Store, including its DLC, for a limited time. Supermassive Games’ interactive drama, The Quarry (Deluxe Edition), is on sale until this Thursday, February 5.

The Deluxe Edition of The Quarry is now at its lowest price ever—just $11.99 for both PS5 and PS4 players with cross-buy support. After February 5, it will return to its regular price of $79.99.

This edition offers support for PS5 game streaming for PS Plus Premium members and includes additional content alongside the full game:

    – 80s-inspired character costumes
    – Death Rewind feature
    – Gorefest Movie Mode
    – Horror History Visual Filter Pack

While the game supports cross-buy, players should keep in mind that there’s no cross-progression to carry over between platforms.

According to the synopsis, “As summer camp ends, Hackett’s Quarry counselors throw a party to celebrate, but things quickly go south. Hunted by bloodied locals and something much darker, the teens’ party spirals into a night of unpredictable horror. Play as each of the nine counselors in a cinematic story where every choice influences the outcome. Any character can be the hero—or die before dawn.”

The Quarry has received mostly positive reviews, and this is a price point we highly recommend.

  • February PS Plus Essential Free Games Are Now Live

February PS Plus Essential Free Games Are Now Live

PS Plus Essential’s free games for February 2026 are beginning to launch, starting with Japan and Asia where it’s Tuesday, February 3. After a less well-received January lineup, subscribers are now getting a pretty solid collection that appeals to both PS5 and PS4 users.

This month, PS Plus members can download four free titles: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PS4), Subnautica: Below Zero (PS5, PS4), Ultros (PS5, PS4), and Undisputed (PS5). With the exception of Undisputed, all these games have received critical praise.

The free games will be available in other regions at noon local time on February 3, so this is your final chance to grab January’s offerings if you haven’t already. Last month’s lineup featured Need for Speed Unbound (PS5), Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (PS5, PS4), and Core Keeper (PS5, PS4).

Although Sony announced that future PS Plus content would emphasize PS5 games, the beginning of 2026 still shows a strong presence of PS4 titles. We didn’t expect the Extra and Premium tiers to change direction immediately, but it’s also unexpected to see PS4 games included in these monthly freebies.

How long this trend of including PS4 games with the Essential tier will last remains uncertain.

What are your thoughts on February’s free games?

  • PS5 RPG Revival: Classic PS1 Game Gets Rave Reviews

PS5 RPG Revival: Classic PS1 Game Gets Rave Reviews

One of the most acclaimed RPGs of all time recently received a remake, and reviews are flooding in with high praise.

The remake, titled Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, is scheduled for release on February 5, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. On OpenCritic, an aggregator of game reviews, it currently holds an average score of 85, with 97% of critics recommending it.

Nintendo Life’s Mitch Vogel praises the game for trimming unnecessary elements from the original, calling it “the most fun version to date.” He highlights the faster, more engaging narrative pace along with enhanced gameplay features like moonlighting and stunning visuals, making the new version a compelling choice. Vogel suggests that while it may not be groundbreaking, it perfectly captures excellent gameplay and aesthetics, making it a must-have for fans of classic JRPGs.

Nic Bunce of TheSixthAxis also delivers high praise with a 9.5 out of 10 rating. Bunce describes Dragon Quest VII Reimagined as a remarkably impressive remake, noting that 26 years after its debut, the game feels modern and compelling. He believes it will resonate strongly with both longtime fans and those new to the series.

IGN’s Scott White gives the game a 7 out of 10, mentioning that the remake offers a better-paced experience compared to the original. However, he points out that some core elements have been altered too much. Ryan Thompson-Bamsey of TheGamer appreciates these changes for new players, stating that it provides a strong entry point into the franchise’s most compelling stories, while longtime fans can enjoy a refined version of a beloved classic.

This latest release continues the trend of reimagining the series, following the remakes of the first three titles, with the previous remake being Dragon Quest I & II Reimagined in 2025.

Leak Claims New PS Portal Release Window Revealed

A trusted insider has confirmed recent speculation about a new PS Portal model and revealed a potential release timeframe. Rumors about an upgraded handheld device have been circulating for weeks, and leaker KeplerL2 has added credibility, suggesting the revised version could arrive as early as this year.

The new PS Portal is expected to include an OLED display, though specifics haven’t been disclosed. KeplerL2 mentioned that the launch is targeted for 2026. “The PS Portal is performing better than expected, and they’re even planning another version this year,” he stated.

It’s unlikely that an OLED screen will be the only upgrade, so more details will likely emerge soon. Fans on the PS Portal subreddit are expressing hopes for higher bit rate support, WiFi 7 compatibility, improved speakers, and even a touchpad on the back of the device.

Additionally, users are eager for a major firmware update and an expanded cloud streaming library. Notably, the remote player was the only device that did not receive a system software update at the start of 2026, unlike the PS5 and PS4.
