A highly praised Konami action game collection has just launched on the PlayStation 5 through the PlayStation Store. This latest release revives a legendary stealth franchise for a new generation of gamers.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is now accessible for PS5 users via the PlayStation Store. This second volume includes HD remasters of classic titles, such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Guns of the Patriots debuted in 2008 and quickly became a fan favorite, earning widespread acclaim and boasting a Metascore of 94 out of 100 on Metacritic. Peace Walker, which was released in 2010, also received mostly positive reviews and holds a solid Metascore of 89.
Buying Master Collection Vol. 2 also grants players access to an additional game, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. This handheld exclusive was originally released in 2000 and marks the series’ debut on portable consoles.
The collection doesn’t stop there—it’s packed with extras like a Screenplay Book featuring in-depth text from each game’s storyline, as well as a Master Book that offers detailed insights into characters and plot points.
Fans can also enjoy the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2, which includes many iconic tracks from Snake’s missions. The soundtrack is accessible through an in-game music player.
As a bonus, both games in the collection include special unlockable content: the Gold Camouflage for Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Gold Uniform for Peace Walker.
Online multiplayer support is available for up to six players in the HD version of Peace Walker, allowing fans to team up or battle in co-op mode.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is currently priced at $49.99 on the PlayStation Store. The individual ports of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Peace Walker can also be purchased separately, for $29.99 and $19.99 respectively.
