Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the launch of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS) on Tuesday, calling it a game-changing digital platform designed to modernize governance by documenting, communicating, supervising, and tracking every directive issued.
The system will monitor each directive from issuance to execution, verified completion, and post-implementation review.
During the launch event at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister directed all relevant authorities to prioritize the swift and complete rollout of the AI-based platform, emphasizing that traditional paper workflows would be phased out in favor of digital solutions.
“Starting today, I don’t want to see any of you carrying files. Everything will be managed through this system,” he stated.
The Prime Minister commended IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and the IT secretary for their dedication in bringing the system to life.
He called on all government ministries and departments to adopt the platform, highlighting its potential to enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery. “This will make it easier to serve the public,” he added.
The launch was attended by Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, IT officials, and other senior government representatives, who received a detailed briefing on the platform’s features and goals.
The Prime Minister was informed that PMOS is the first government system in Pakistan to incorporate AI at the core of decision-making and progress tracking, positioning it as a pioneer for Pakistan’s digital transformation initiatives.
The briefing explained that PMOS was developed centrally to ensure efficient dissemination of the Prime Minister’s directives across government agencies, enabling timely and quality-compliant execution.
It also functions as a secure decision-support system, integrating analytics and structured data within a protected IT environment.
Furthermore, the platform is designed to enable ongoing policy adjustments by allowing the government to optimize the use of technological, human, and financial resources to achieve better economic results.
By establishing the system at the Prime Minister’s Office first, the government aims to embed reform practices at the highest level before expanding them across other departments.
The core of the platform is a comprehensive digital archive that records every directive from the Prime Minister along with their implementation details, serving both as institutional memory and as an authoritative record of government decisions.
Unlike traditional tracking methods, PMOS features an AI layer capable of reading, categorizing, and analyzing directives, rather than just storing them.
