Two individuals lost their lives Saturday, and at least six others were injured during a shooting at a salsa festival in Toronto, according to local authorities. A suspect remains at large.

An AFP reporter at the scene described the incident as taking place during a salsa event on St. Clair Avenue.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed his devastation over the violence, stating on social media, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic violence at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival that has claimed two lives and left others wounded.”
This incident follows a shooting in Montreal late last month, where two people, including a police officer, were killed by an attacker who was subsequently shot and killed by law enforcement.
In February, Tumbler Ridge, a small western mining town, experienced a school shooting that resulted in eight deaths, including the shooter’s mother and half-brother, along with 27 injuries before the shooter took her own life.
