There are several versions of GTA 6 available, and choosing the right one can be confusing. The line between digital and physical copies is also becoming less clear. While Rockstar managed to avoid the feared $100 price tag for the base game, you’ll still need to pay that much for the Ultimate Edition if you want the complete GTA 6 experience.
To help you make the best decision, here’s a breakdown of the different versions and what makes each one special, so you can pick the one that fits your needs.
GTA 6 Standard Edition
This is the basic digital version, priced at around $79.99. It includes just the game itself, without extra goodies. If you pre-order through the PlayStation or Microsoft Store, you’ll get the Vintage Vice City Pack and a free one-month GTA+ subscription. Digital copies can be pre-loaded a week early, which is handy given the game’s large file size. If you want more later, you can upgrade to the Ultimate Edition for about $20.
GTA 6 Ultimate Edition
This premium digital option costs about $99.99. It includes everything in the standard edition plus additional content like the Vintage Vice City Pack and a one-month GTA+ membership when you pre-order. It also unlocks exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits, and business properties—such as special cars, unique outfits inspired by Vice City, and access to custom vehicle shops and salons. Buying this gives you a more immersive experience with lots of bonuses.
GTA 6 Physical Edition
For $79.99, this version comes as a box with a redeemable code for the digital game, not a physical disc. Although you’ll receive the code in the mail, the game itself will be digital. Retailers expect to send out physical orders a week before launch to give players time to redeem and pre-load. Pre-ordering physical copies grants you the Vintage Vice City Pack but not a free GTA+ subscription. You can still upgrade to the Ultimate Edition afterward if desired.
GTA 6 Vintage Vice City Pack
No matter which version you pick, pre-ordering will unlock the Vintage Vice City Pack for free. It features nostalgic cosmetics such as tropical-patterned guns, vintage outfits for Jason and Lucia, and exclusive hairstyles. This pack takes you back to the neon glow era of Vice City, with stylish vehicles, outfits, and weapon skins inspired by the iconic city and its characters.
As for PC, GTA 6 will likely come out sometime later, probably at least a year after the console launch. When it does, a different version tailored for PC players might be available.
Remember, whichever edition you choose, pre-ordering ensures access to bonus content and early pre-loading to get started as soon as the game goes live.
