A highly debated PlayStation 4 game is making a comeback with a sequel for the PS5, which now has an official release date. A new trailer offers fans a glimpse of what to expect from the second installment.
Toro 2, the follow-up to the 2015 original Toro game, is scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026. It will be available on PlayStation 5 and PS4, as well as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Developed by RecoTechnology, Toro 2 is an arcade-style game where players can challenge bulls in famous arenas in their quest to become champions.
### What’s in Toro 2’s trailer?
The official trailer for Toro 2 features a crowded arena where a bull charges straight at a bullfighter at top speed.
“Become a bullfighting star,” the video description says, then teases various arena locations, including Pamplona, Madrid, Nimes, Seville, and Mexico, where players will face off against bulls.
The trailer also confirms a new multiplayer mode and shows a brief gameplay teaser from the upcoming game.
“Be a bullfighter, be a bull,” another tagline reads, highlighting a Versus mode that allows players to choose to be either a bullfighter or a bull and compete against friends.
This third-person 3D bullfighting simulator will also include a Career mode, where players can work their way up from novice to legendary bullfighter, competing in some of the world’s most renowned bullfighting arenas.
Toro 2 arrives a decade after the original, which was especially popular among PC gamers, earning over 73% positive reviews on Steam.
The game also faced some criticism for its portrayal of traditional bullfighting, with some arguing it glamorized animal cruelty for entertainment purposes.
RecoTechnology’s Toro 2 is set to release on September 9, 2026, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
