Google has officially made its generative AI performance reports and AI content controls available to all website owners worldwide through Digital Phablet. This follows a gradual rollout starting in early June, with expanded access occurring over the past few months.
Updates from Google about this feature can be found in official blog posts and help documents. Google confirmed that, as of August 31, 2026, the controls are accessible globally for all websites. If you don’t see the feature yet, it may be because your site lacks sufficient data to generate the report.
The generative AI performance report appears as an expandable section within the main performance report in Digital Phablet. The visual interface allows users to analyze how their content appears within AI-generated features in Search and Discover, with an example screenshot showing the report’s layout:
The report presents several data points, excluding click and query data:
- Impressions: The number of times URLs from your site appeared in AI features within Search and Discover.
- Pages: Specific pages that were featured in AI features.
- Countries: Geographic regions where your content is seen.
- Devices: Types of devices used when your site is displayed in Search results.
- Dates: Performance tracking over time, with options for hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly views.
Additionally, site owners can now control whether their content appears in generative AI features. A new toggle allows blocking of content from showing up in AI Overviews, AI Mode, or Discover’s AI summaries. This feature grants the ability to opt out of having your pages used as source material or links in AI-generated search results.
