How Does the Gacha System in NTE Completing? Solving the Mystery

Neverness To Everness offers several unique features in the gacha game genre, including a large open-world city environment and driving vehicles. But one of the most unexpected aspects is its gacha system, which is tied to a tabletop-style board game that players can interact with every time they make a pull.

While the chance percentages are similar to other gacha games, this system has much more depth. Once you understand how it works, pulling for your favorite characters could become more entertaining than in any other game.

    All Gacha Currencies, Explained

Before diving into the mechanics, it’s crucial to understand all the currencies you’ll encounter. There are six different types:

    • Solid Dice: Used to draw from the current limited banner. One dice equals one pull.
    • Fabricated Dice: Used for the game’s standard, permanent banner featuring multiple characters.
    • Tri-Key: Can be exchanged in the Arc Shop to unlock any S-class Arc for your character. Each costs 25 Tri-Keys. You can also use Tri-Keys to pull from the Arc banner.
    • Annulith: The premium currency; you can earn it through various activities. It can directly purchase any of the aforementioned pulls, but it mostly goes toward Solid Dice or Tri-Keys.
    • Warp Piece: Earned by getting duplicates or landing on special tiles. Used for unlimited pulls or to buy copies of standard characters.
    • Lost Piece: Obtained through the gacha, used to buy upgrade items or purchase some pulls each month.

    How the Gacha Board Works

To summon characters from any banner, players must access the “Fair,” which is the board system. The board has a loop of tiles, with two smaller loops branching out on each side. Landing on specific tiles allows you to enter these side loops.

    Different tiles give different rewards:

    • Journey Together Tile: Grants an S-class character instantly. The character can be random if you’re on the standard banner. Landing on the A-class “Journey Together” tile gives you a random A-class character.
    • Apprentice Chest: Has a small chance (0.2%) to give an S-class character, but mostly awards a B-class Arc.
    • Hero Chest: Slightly higher chance (3%) of getting an S-Class character, but usually provides a B-Class Arc. It also rewards two Warp Pieces.
    • Roll Again Tile: Lets you redo the roll and gain back the number of pulls indicated on the tile.
    • Miracle Box: Rewards you with a random A-Class Arc.
    • Warp Chess Box: Awards the number of Warp Pieces specified.
    • Lost Chess Box: Grants the number of Lost Pieces shown on the tile.

Certain tiles are Slumberland tiles. Landing on one spawns a guardian nine tiles ahead. If you catch up to the guardian within three turns, you get 30 Warp Pieces; otherwise, it disappears. Your movement depends on a dice roll from 1 to 6, and your character moves accordingly, landing on a tile and earning its reward.

If you reach 70 pulls without securing an S-class character, the board changes by adding more Journey Together tiles, increasing chances to get an S-Class immediately. Expect the S-Class trigger to happen between 70 and 80 pulls most of the time.

    Gacha Odds

The core gacha mechanic in Neverness To Everness is standard: about a 1.87% chance to get an S-Class character on the normal board. The chances significantly improve on the modified board after 70 pulls without an S-Class.

When you trigger an S-Class on the limited banner, you’ll always get the featured character, avoiding the usual 50:50 chance. You are also guaranteed an A-Class item (character or Arc) every ten pulls, and the pity system resets across banners for normal pulls but not for special skins.

    Arc Research Program

The Arc Research program is introduced with the game’s launch. It mainly allows you to summon the signature Arc of the limited banner’s featured character. Up to ten pulls are possible per attempt, costing either ten Tri-Keys or 160 Annulith each.

Each pull has a 3% chance to yield an S-Class Arc, and there’s a 25% chance that the Arc obtained is the featured one. Collecting all Tri-Keys from the Lost Exchange and other shops is recommended for better odds. Guaranteeing an S-Class Arc typically takes six ten-pulls, and if you don’t get the featured Arc by the eighth, you’ll get it on the ninth.

    Current and Upcoming Banners

The game plans to switch up limited characters roughly every three weeks. Here are the banners currently running or upcoming:

    Current Banner

    • Misty Tipsy Style: May 13, 2026 – June 3, 2026, featuring Hatori (S)

    Upcoming Banners

    • Unknown: June 3 – June 24, 2026 (tentative), featuring Lacrimosa (S)
    • Unknown: June 24 – July 15, 2026 (tentative), featuring Chaos (S)

Banner durations are usually around three weeks, with updates expected but not officially confirmed. The banners for Lacrimosa and Chaos are confirmed to be in Version 1.1, and the specific dates could adjust.

This version simplifies and clarifies the original content, maintaining all factual details while making it more natural and human-sounding for an American English audience.

  • Anker Solix E10 Home Backup Review Power For Your Life

Anker Solix E10 Home Backup Review Power For Your Life

    • Highly expandable system: add batteries, circuits, or parallel setups.
    • Smooth transition during outages.
    • Handles power surges from air conditioning units or well pumps.
    • Operates without internet after initial setup, using Bluetooth for local control.

    Cons

    • A custom natural gas hose is needed for the Smart Generator 5500.
    • App interface has a slight learning curve for setup.
    • 130-pound battery modules require some effort to install.

Instant Perspective: Reliable Power, No Interruptions

Whole-house backup power sounds ideal, especially in my rural setting. Our outages are frequent and serious—here, when the power fails, so does water, because we rely on well water. No water for toilets, cleaning, or drinking. That’s what prompted me to try the Anker SOLIX E10 Whole-Home Backup System. This is not a test setup; it’s installed and actively used in my home.

Traditional generators from well-known brands like Generac are powerful but costly. Latest options like Tesla Powerwall tend to be complex and pricey too. The Anker SOLIX E10 offers a flexible, scalable alternative that challenges conventional home backup methods—all at a more manageable price point.

The overall cost—including parts and installation—beats competitors while providing up to 37.2 kW of surge power. But specifications alone reveal little about how reliable it truly feels in a real outage when your home must continue operating seamlessly.

My main concern wasn’t just about protecting the house; it was about solving my water outage issue during power failures. What I found is that Anker didn’t just develop a battery—they built an intelligent, hybrid-style system. It’s not about being the cheapest; it’s about matching your home’s needs and offering future expansion options. The most significant takeaway from my experience is how natural it feels—the house keeps running, even when the power grid is down.

Design & Expansion: Built for Growth

The system centers around the Power Dock, which hooks into your existing electrical panel and manages up to 12 circuits—more if needed. In my case, I kept some circuits free for future additions like office outlets or gate power. I added a power module linked to two battery units, each storing 6,144Wh, totaling roughly 12kWh.

The standout feature is its scalability. You aren’t locked into your initial setup. Need more capacity for a pool or electric vehicle? Add extra batteries. Want to expand the circuit capacity? You can include additional subpanels easily.

Adding capacity or circuits is straightforward with available expansion options—making it flexible as your needs evolve without costly reconfigurations.

Installation is simple enough for a licensed electrician—no proprietary technicians required. That said, having someone familiar with Anker’s systems can save you time and effort, especially given the technology’s novelty.

I tested the system by manually activating the “Go Off-Grid” mode, mimicking a total power failure. The entire home remained unaffected—no flickering lights, no Wi-Fi disconnect, no reset of clocks. It simply kept working seamlessly.

During the first few weeks, I monitored battery levels, load demands, and charging times via the app. I also deliberately pushed the system with heavy loads like well pumps and multiple appliances to see how it managed the demand and battery drain. Additionally, I tested the system’s resilience when Wi-Fi was disabled, relying solely on Bluetooth within the home, and confirmed remote access through the internet remained functional when available.

One unexpected discovery was that a power outage of just six minutes went unnoticed in the house—testament to how seamlessly the system handles disruptions, with no drama or noticeable interruptions.

To challenge the hardware, I ran heavy appliances— well pump, water heater, home offices, and filtration systems—simultaneously. Despite this demanding load, the system maintained excellent efficiency, averaging around 46W idle consumption and about 200W from the battery heater in cold weather, which is designed to protect the cells.

    Score: 10/10

App & Connectivity: Local Control & Remote Access

The accompanying app offers a clean, intuitive interface. It’s straightforward to see energy flows, configure circuits, set priorities, and control the generator, making system management accessible even for non-technical users.

Although initial setup involves some learning, especially in configuring battery charging schedules within the Energy Usage Mode, the system’s flexibility is impressive. I mainly used the Time-of-Use mode, which allows scheduling to minimize costs—charging at night during off-peak hours—especially useful without solar panels.

While setup requires Wi-Fi for firmware updates, after that, the system runs independently. Bluetooth control is available within close range, and remote access is possible if your home maintains internet connectivity.

My biggest concern was system functionality during internet outages. I verified that control and monitoring still worked via Bluetooth and that the system continued operation without issues—key for emergency preparedness.

    Score: 9/10

Smart Generator 5500: The Versatile Power Extender

Long-term outages exhaust battery reserves. The Smart Generator 5500 adds valuable security. Being a tri-fuel generator—gas, propane, natural gas—it provides essential backup flexibility without locking you into a single fuel source.

The real advantage is its automation: it normally stays off but starts automatically when needed and shuts down when not. It connects directly to the batteries for efficient DC charging, reducing typical energy conversion losses. While it functions as a traditional generator when necessary, its smarter operation makes it feel more like a managed energy device.

This generator can be configured via the app with different modes, such as Turbo for rapid response during spikes, Eco for fuel efficiency and noise reduction, and Quiet for ultra-low noise operation. Starting remotely from the app is a handy feature—no need to physically go outside to start or stop it, although manual operation remains an option.

    Simulated Outage: Hybrid Power Cycle

Time Battery Level Power Source Demand Generator Status
8:00 AM 100% Battery High (Well Pump/Furnace) OFF
    2:00 PM 70% Battery + Solar Medium (Offices/Networking) OFF
7:00 PM 35% Battery High (Water Heater/Fridge) OFF
10:00 PM 15% Generator Low (Sleep Mode) ON (Auto Start)
12:00 AM 85% Battery Low Off (Auto Stop)

    Score: 9.5/10

    Build Quality & Warranty

The components are housed in weatherproof NEMA 4 (IP66) enclosures, suitable for outdoor installation across extreme climates. The heavy battery modules lock securely and withstand environmental stresses. Anker offers a 5-year warranty, and the EV-grade LFP batteries are rated for over 3,000 cycles, providing a lifespan of more than a decade.

The robust build ensures durability for outdoor use. The 130-pound batteries lock into place securely, and the system’s lifetime is designed to exceed 10 years. Sprinkled with warranty and extensive cycle life, it provides confidence for long-term reliability.

  • Where To Find The Water Filtration System in Arc Raiders: Completing & Solving

Where To Find The Water Filtration System in Arc Raiders: Completing & Solving

Clean drinking water is vital for the people of Speranza in ARC Raiders. Without it, they risk falling ill from parasites and tiny harmful organisms hidden in the water. The last thing Speranza needs is a disease outbreak.

Water filtration and purification systems make it possible to keep water safe. But these systems might serve other purposes too. Apollo, an explosives expert, supplies Raiders with a variety of grenades and mines to fight ARC, which are often less effective against their tough armor. Improving their ingredients could boost their power, and the water systems might help with that.

Where to Find the Filtration Systems at Spaceport

One of Apollo’s quests, called “The Clean Dream,” involves visiting the Spaceport and The Blue Gate. First, go to Spaceport and look for small, sloped buildings in the open area near the Launch Towers. These buildings are scattered around the edge of the area and have walkways or ladders that lead down into the Spaceport Tunnel underneath.

In the tunnels, loot four containers to complete the first step. Any breachable container counts, including those on trucks, metal crates, or machinery on the walls. Sometimes, security rooms on the western side of the tunnels hide Medical Bags or Weapon Crates, which can be accessed without keys.

Next, monitor the filtration system inside the tunnels. Several large tan tanks with text on them are available—approach one, and a prompt will appear to monitor it. Once you do this, that part of the quest is finished.

Where to Find the Purification System at The Blue Gate

Head to The Blue Gate for the remaining objectives. Start at the Maintenance Bunker on the eastern side of the map, just south of the Overlook Airshaft. Find a small, square opening with a ladder going into the ground next to the stairs leading up to the ENELICA Tower and Airshaft. Climb down into the bunker beneath to begin.

Enter through the first door on the right—inside, you’ll see two large blue tanks and machinery. Approach the tank on the right to get the prompt to monitor it. Doing so completes another step.

Then, go back upstairs, past the hallway that leads outside, and enter the other door you passed earlier. This door opens into an office space with lockers. Checking lockers on any map is useful, as they often contain rare materials, weapons, or other helpful items.

Finally, go to the two tables against the wall inside the office. Interact with the stack of folders near the computer monitor to take a photo of them. This completes the last step of the quest.

After completing all objectives, return to Speranza and talk to Apollo. You’ll receive a reward that includes experience points, a powerful Deadline Mine, three Showstoppers, and three Heavy Fuse Grenades.

  • How to Complete the Sentinel Control System Companion in Fallout 4

How to Complete the Sentinel Control System Companion in Fallout 4

One of the highlights of Fallout 4’s Creation Club content is the addition of new companions. Among these is a large set of Power Armor that doesn’t require a pilot. It simply roams the game world with you, attacking anyone who stands in your way. To unlock this powerful armor, you must complete the Malevolent Malfunction Quest.

In this quest, you discover a Brotherhood of Steel traitor. Your task is to eliminate him and steal his AI-controlled Power Armor. Here’s a straightforward guide to completing the quest and adding this armor to your team.

    Follow the Distress Signal

Start the quest by locating the Distress Signal Beacon on your radio. Follow the signal, which can sometimes be tricky because it doesn’t always appear at the right time. A good spot to find it is near Drumlin Diner, just southeast of Concord.

When you find the signal, tune into it on your radio. You will hear a steady beep; the faster the beeps, the closer you are to your destination. The target location is slightly southeast of the diner, west of Lexington.

Fight the Rogue Sentinel Power Armor

Once you arrive at the source of the distress signal, you’ll encounter hostile Rogue Sentinel Power Armors. You need to defeat both of them to proceed.

After defeating the enemies, loot their bodies and grab the Sentinel System Log. Check your Pip-Boy’s Miscellaneous items and play the log. It reveals that a person named Dawson reprogrammed the Power Armors to attack their allies before heading to the Schoelt Propane Station. This is your next destination.

You can find the bodies of Dawson’s former allies, Vasquez and Maria, nearby. They each hold a Holo Tape you can read, although this isn’t required for the main quest.

Meet Dawson at the Propane Station

The Propane Station is located southwest of where you picked up the distress signal, close to the Federal Ration Stockpile and ArcJet Systems.

When you arrive at the station, you’ll find Dawson. He won’t greet you kindly — he immediately opens fire. You must fight and kill him. Afterward, loot his body to find his footlocker key.

Use the key to open his footlocker on the counter inside the remains of the building. Inside, you’ll find his Holotape. Play it to learn more about Dawson’s work with the Institute. The key piece of information is the passcode to his Sentinel Power Armor: “Capital Tripwire Echo.”

Outside, locate the Sentinel near a truck and a large propane tank. Approach it and interact to ‘hack’ it, then choose ‘activate.’ This action transforms the Sentinel into your Power Armor companion, which can follow you and assist in combat. This marks the end of the quest.

  • How Does the Ordnance System Work in Borderlands 4: Completing & Solving

How Does the Ordnance System Work in Borderlands 4: Completing & Solving

Combat in Borderlands 4 has evolved significantly. With more tools available in your arsenal, you can fight more smoothly and aggressively, even on the toughest levels. One of the new features is the Ordnance System, which boosts your attack power and helps improve your overall build.

Since the Ordnance System is new to the series, there are some important things you should know before using it. Once you understand how it works, the game’s combat becomes not only easier but more enjoyable.

    ### What Is The Ordnance System?

This system is designed to keep your focus on fighting rather than worrying about ammunition limits for your weapons. In earlier games like Borderlands 3, players only had four weapon slots plus a grenade mod slot. That made choosing weapons more careful and strategic.

Now, in Borderlands 4, you still have a limit, but you get one extra slot. This means you can equip five different weapons instead of four. The Ordnance System is what allows this. As you defeat enemies, they will drop weapons, including heavy weapons like LMGs, rocket launchers, and plasma cannons.

These heavy weapons can be placed in the Ordnance Slot once you find them. While you can still use grenade mods, having heavy weapons gives you more options. If you equip a heavy weapon, it’s smart to switch back and forth between it and your other guns during tough fights. This way, you can deal more damage.

With this system, you’ll often have five guns ready to use, instead of just four.

    ### How Does The Ordnance System Work?

The Ordnance System categorizes your heavy items into two types: grenade mods and heavy weapons. While both are similar, they operate differently.

    #### How Grenade Mods Work

Grenade mods now have charges, meaning you can only throw them a limited number of times based on how many charges they have. For example, some grenade mods may have two charges, while legendary ones might have seven. After using all charges, there’s a cooldown period that needs to pass before you can use the grenade again. This cooldown varies depending on the mod. When selecting grenade mods, check their cooldown stat to ensure you can reuse them quickly when needed.

    #### How Heavy Weapons Work

Heavy weapons also require ammo, which acts as a countdown until the weapon can no longer be fired. When you run out of ammo, you’ll need to wait for the cooldown period to finish before reusing the heavy weapon. The cooldowns differ from one heavy weapon to another. When you pick up a heavy weapon, you can see how long its cooldown lasts in its tooltip. Note that you can’t use heavy weapons during Fight for Your Life mode, and if you don’t fire a shot while using them, some weapons may avoid a cooldown, allowing you to switch back quickly.

This system gives you more flexibility and power, making combat more dynamic and tactical.

  • How the Infamy System Works in Wildgate: Completing and Solving

How the Infamy System Works in Wildgate: Completing and Solving

    What Is Infamy?

Wildgate has a system called Infamy, which tracks your progress and rank in PvP combat. Think of it like a ranking system in other games like Overwatch. It shows how skilled you are based on your wins and losses.

Unlike other systems, Infamy is optional. You have to turn it on in the game settings. Once enabled, your Infamy rank will start updating according to your game results, with wins earning points and losses reducing them.

    How To Turn On Infamy

To activate the system, go to the ‘Customize’ menu, then select ‘Misc’ and ‘Player Cards’. There, you’ll see the Infamy Badge, which is bronze. Equip this badge in either Slot One or Slot Two on your Player Card. Keep it equipped for your rank to show up and be tracked.

    How Infamy Works

Once the badge is equipped, the system takes effect. You’ll earn and lose points based on game outcomes:

    • One victory gives you 10 points
    • One defeat causes you to lose a variable number of points depending on your current rank

Higher ranks tend to have more significant penalties for losses, making it tougher to maintain top positions. For example, at the Marauder rank, you won’t lose any points if you lose a match.

    Point Tiers and Rank Progression

You need to reach certain point totals to advance to the next rank:

    1. 10 Points
    2. 30 Points
    3. 60 Points
    4. 100 Points
    5. 200 Points

Hitting these point thresholds promotes you to the next rank. Even if you lose points, you won’t drop below your current rank during the same month. Your rank remains for the entire month, and rankings are reset monthly.

  • Completing the Gacha System in Blue Archive: A Guide to Solving

Completing the Gacha System in Blue Archive: A Guide to Solving

Blue Archive places you in the role of a Headmaster tasked with enhancing your students’ abilities. To achieve this, you’ll need to recruit characters through the gacha system. Understanding this system will help you determine which banners to pursue.

Different characters serve various roles in combat, so aiming for the most powerful options is crucial. If there’s a specific character you want, you can purchase Recruitment Tickets, or you can opt to use Pyroxenes on either the Regular or Pick-Up banners at no cost.

    Regular Recruitment

The Regular Recruitment banner is always available and includes characters from the current Pick-Up banners, but it does not feature all limited characters. The chances of rolling a three-star character is around 0.026%, while two-star characters have a 0.84% chance, and one-star characters appear 4.4% of the time.

Every time you roll on this banner, you accumulate points. After 200 rolls, you can claim one character from the limited banners. Each roll costs 120 Pyroxenes.

Note: Points do not carry over after the limited time ends; instead, they convert into Keystone pieces.

If you end up with duplicates, they will be transformed into Eleph and Enigma, which can be used to upgrade your existing characters.

You can earn Pyroxenes from quests, tasks, events, and challenges. You can also find packs in the shop, but a ten-pull will typically set you back around $21, prices may vary by region.

    Pick-Up Recruitment

Focus on Pick-Up Recruitment, as it offers a better chance of obtaining desired limited-time characters. The probability of getting the featured three-star character is 0.7%, but you might also encounter standard characters based on their rates in the Regular Recruitment banner.

    Selective Recruitment

In Selective Recruitment, only three-star characters are available, representing the highest rarity in Blue Archive. This recruitment option isn’t free; you’ll need to buy Choice Tickets, allowing you to select your preferred three-star character.

Unlike other recruitment types, Selective Recruitment does not have a point system, meaning you can’t use Choice Tickets repetitively. You can also access your Choice Tickets directly from your inventory.

Note: The primary method of acquiring Choice Tickets is through purchase, but they may also be awarded during special events. Limited-time deals may be available for ticket purchases during specific promotions.

    3-Star Guaranteed Recruitment

With a Three-Star Guaranteed Recruitment Ticket, you can recruit ten characters. As the name suggests, you will receive at least one three-star character and possibly additional one-star and two-star students.

Unlike Selective Recruitment, this option also allows you to accumulate points for additional characters after reaching 200. Each tenth recruitment gives you about a 0.87% chance to pull any of the featured characters.

Note: Recruitment tickets can be earned as rewards or purchased. A StartDash Three-Star Ticket is typically available for around $13.94.

New Dwarf Planet Discerned at Solar System’s Edge

Sure! Here’s a rewritten and unique version of the content in American English:

A Newly Discovered Distant Object in Our Solar System

Scientists have observed a celestial body measuring around 435 miles (700 kilometers) in width, located in the icy outskirts of our solar system. This object, believed to have the potential to be classified as a dwarf planet, follows an elongated orbital path around the sun.

Researchers have dubbed this entity one of the most distant known objects within our solar system. Its discovery suggests that the vast area beyond the furthest planet, Neptune, and the Kuiper Belt, may not be as empty as previously thought. The Kuiper Belt is home to a variety of icy celestial bodies.

Designated 2017 OF201, this object is classified as a trans-Neptunian object, which refers to bodies that travel around the sun at distances greater than Neptune. Remarkably, it takes approximately 25,000 years for 2017 OF201 to complete a single orbit around the sun, in contrast to Earth’s 365-day orbit.

This discovery was made possible through telescopic observations in Chile and Hawaii over a span of seven years.

Astrophysicist Sihao Cheng, from the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, who spearheaded this study alongside Princeton graduate students Jiaxuan Li and Eritas Yang, stated, "It may be large enough to be classified as a dwarf planet. Its extensive and eccentric orbit indicates it has undergone an intriguing migration in the past."

The estimated size of 2017 OF201 is slightly smaller than Ceres, the smallest recognized dwarf planet in our solar system, which has a diameter of about 590 miles (950 kilometers). In comparison, Pluto, the largest dwarf planet, measures roughly 1,477 miles (2,377 kilometers) in diameter.

The mass of 2017 OF201 is believed to be around 20,000 times less than that of Earth and 50 times less than Pluto’s.

"We are still unsure about its shape. Its distance makes it challenging to resolve with existing telescopes," Cheng explained. "Its composition remains a mystery, but it is likely similar to other icy bodies."

The Minor Planet Center, affiliated with the International Astronomical Union, announced the discovery, with further details provided in a paper submitted to the open-access research platform arXiv, which is pending peer review.

The distance between Earth and the sun is known as an astronomical unit (AU). Currently, 2017 OF201 lies at a remarkable distance of 90.5 AUs from the sun, which is 90.5 times farther than Earth.

At its furthest point in the orbit, 2017 OF201 can be over 1,600 AUs away from the sun, while its closest approach is about 45 AUs. This positioning sometimes brings it nearer to the sun than Pluto, which travels in an elliptical pattern, varying its distance from 30 to 49 AUs.

Researchers suspect that the unusual orbit of 2017 OF201 may have been influenced by a historical close encounter with a giant planet’s gravitational field.

Cheng articulated the challenge of studying distant regions of the solar system: "We know very little about the solar system’s outskirts because direct observations are difficult beyond approximately 150 AUs. The presence of this single object implies there might be another hundred similar entities that remain undetectable due to their extreme distance."

The five dwarf planets recognized by the International Astronomical Union, in order of distance from the sun, are Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris, all of which orbit beyond Neptune.

The organization distinguishes between planets and dwarf planets based on their characteristics. A planet must orbit its star, be mostly spherical, and possess enough mass to clear its orbit of other similar-sized objects. In contrast, a dwarf planet must also orbit the sun and be mostly round, but it hasn’t cleared its orbital path.

Cheng remarked that the discovery of 2017 OF201 could have significant implications for theories about a potential ninth planet within our solar system, referred to as Planet X or Planet Nine. This is due to 2017 OF201’s atypical orbit, which diverges from the clustering pattern seen in known trans-Neptunian objects. Some scientists speculated that this clustering might be influenced by an unseen planet’s gravity.

"The fact that 2017 OF201 acts as an outlier challenges this hypothesis," Cheng concluded.

  • China Calls on U.S. to Halt Global Missile Defense Development

China Calls on U.S. to Halt Global Missile Defense Development

President Donald Trump announces the Golden Dome missile defense system in the Oval Office on May 20, 2025.

President Donald Trump has revealed new information and initial funding for his ambitious “Golden Dome” global missile defense initiative, prompting China to accuse the U.S. of destabilizing global security on Wednesday.

During an announcement made on Tuesday, Trump allocated $25 billion to the project, estimating that the total cost could reach approximately $175 billion, with plans for the system to be operational within three years.

Beijing swiftly criticized the Golden Dome plan, labeling it a danger to international peace and asserting that the United States is sparking an arms race.

“I promised the American people I would develop a cutting-edge missile defense shield during my campaign,” Trump stated at the White House. “I’m thrilled to announce that we have finalized the architecture for this state-of-the-art system.”

“Once complete, the Golden Dome will intercept missiles launched from anywhere in the world, including outer space,” he added, emphasizing the importance of the system for the nation’s security.

Trump disclosed that U.S. Space Force General Michael Guetlein would oversee the effort, mentioning that Canada has expressed interest in collaborating, citing their need for protection as well.

While Trump estimated the total expenditure at around $175 billion, the Congressional Budget Office previously assessed that the cost of space-based interceptors designed to tackle a limited number of intercontinental ballistic missiles might range from $161 billion to $542 billion over 20 years.

The Golden Dome initiative aims for even broader objectives, with Trump stating it “will implement next-generation technologies across land, sea, and space, incorporating space-based sensors and interceptors.”

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, who joined Trump for the announcement, noted that the system aims to shield “the homeland from cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles, and drones, whether they are conventional or nuclear.”

China and Russia Oppose the Golden Dome

The name “Golden Dome” is inspired by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, which has successfully intercepted thousands of short-range rockets and projectiles since its deployment in 2011.

The United States is facing missile threats from various adversaries, which differ significantly from the short-range munitions targeted by Israel’s Iron Dome.

The 2022 Missile Defense Review acknowledged increasing threats from China and Russia, highlighting that Beijing is catching up in ballistic and hypersonic missile technologies, while Moscow is modernizing its intercontinental missile systems and developing advanced precision strike capabilities.

The report also warned of the growing dangers posed by drones—evident in the conflict in Ukraine—and noted the potential threats of ballistic missiles from North Korea and Iran, as well as risks from non-state actors.

In response to the Golden Dome announcement, Beijing expressed “serious concerns,” indicating that it undermines “global strategic balance and stability.”

“The United States prioritizes its own interests and is obsessed with pursuing absolute security, violating the principle that one country’s security should not come at the expense of others,” remarked foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning during a press briefing.

“This initiative increases the risk of space becoming a battlefield, sparks an arms race, and jeopardizes international security,” she continued.

Earlier this month, China joined Russia in denouncing the Golden Dome concept as “highly destabilizing.” A Kremlin statement following discussions between the two nations emphasized that it “explicitly calls for significantly enhancing military capabilities for space operations.”

In recent years, the United States has gained valuable experience in intercepting missiles and drones. For example, U.S. systems have effectively countered advanced Russian missile threats in Ukraine, while American aircraft and naval vessels aided Israel against Iranian assaults last year and have repeatedly intercepted missiles and drones targeting ships by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.

  • Fortnite’s New Battle Pass System Makes Life Easier

Fortnite’s New Battle Pass System Makes Life Easier

The Device event in Fortnite Chapter 2
    Epic Games

Fortnite gamers will experience significant changes to how they earn experience starting in December. On Monday, Epic Games announced that it will streamline the progression system, enabling players to accumulate experience for all three battle passes simultaneously.

Currently, the battle royale segment allows players to gain experience towards the battle pass by engaging in any section of Fortnite. However, the same hasn’t applied to the Festival and Lego passes for Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite, respectively. This will change once the current seasons and passes conclude later this year.

These improvements aim to make it simpler for players to unlock rewards such as skins. Additionally, Epic revealed that pass rewards will soon be available for purchase directly with V-Bucks, but there will be a limit on the number of items players can acquire.

The Fortnite Festival Festival Pass will be renamed to the Music Pass with the onset of Season 6, which launches on November 2, while the Lego Pass will transition on December 1. Players will have the freedom to level up their passes through gameplay in any aspect of Fortnite, and both free and premium tracks will be merged into a single pathway. This means Festival Points, in addition to Battle Stars and Studs, will gradually be eliminated as their respective games transition to the new system.

This update is expected to make progress toward earning rewards more straightforward. With a unified currency and no restrictions on how players can traverse each track, they can earn experience from any part of Fortnite that they prefer.

In a blog post, Epic stated, “We hope this change encourages you to play where you want, how you want!”

Recently, Epic Games has implemented several changes to reduce some of Fortnite‘s more controversial monetization practices. However, the upcoming option allowing players to directly purchase items from passes shows a continuation of some existing strategies. Back in August, Epic announced that select limited-time items would become purchasable in the Shop 18 months after their battle passes have expired. These adjustments come as Fortnite makes its return to mobile platforms.
