انتقد مخرج ألعاب Uncharted 4 و The Last of Us، بريك سترايلي، ألعاب AAA الحديثة، واصفًا إياها بأنها مملة.
Coven of the Chicken Foot في استوديوه الخاص، Wildflower، بعد مغادرته استوديو نوتي داگ في 2017، قبل إصدار الجزء الثاني من The Last of Us بثلاث سنوات. وبالتالي، لن يشارك في مشروع استوديو Naughty Dog القادم، وهو franchise جديد بعنوان Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Christopher Judge Explains Why He Won’t Portray Kratos in Live-Action God of War

Christopher Judge’s portrayal of Kratos in God of War (2018) and Ragnarok is truly legendary, expected to be remembered for generations. His appearance in the upcoming God of War Laufey will likely be another memorable moment. Many fans hoped he would join Amazon Prime Video’s live-action God of War TV series as the Greek god. However, Judge has explained why he decided to pass on the role and focus solely on his performances in the video games.

Christopher Judge Declines God of War Live-Action Series Due to Physical Demands at Age 62

During a panel at Fan Expo Canada 2026, Judge shared with Collider that the idea of training intensely to portray Kratos in his 60s didn’t appeal to him. When asked about the TV series, he candidly said, “I didn’t want to do it.”

“I didn’t want to, at 62 years old, work 16 to 18-hour days. I didn’t want to be dieting constantly; I didn’t want to be working out all the time.”

Judge disclosed that he initially read for the role of Kratos and even had a heartfelt conversation with his grandson about possibly joining the project. Despite his enthusiasm, his body and mind ultimately said no.

“We had conversations, and I thought, ‘What a great legacy to leave for my grandson.’ So, I started working out, got stronger. But then, reality hit… because I did read for it! I found it increasingly difficult to memorize lines, which I’ve never struggled with before. That’s when my body and mind told me, ‘You don’t want to do this.’”

As the panel continued, Judge opened up about his role as Teal’c in Stargate SG-1. He concluded, “I was a lead in Stargate from ages 33 to 44, then stepped away. Now, at 62, as the lead again, I have no desire to live that intense a life again.”

While disappointed not to see Judge in the live-action Kratos role, he has given his blessing to Dave Bautista, who is set to take on the part. Fans miss Judge’s powerful voice and commanding presence, especially when he shouts “Boy!”

Fortunately, Santa Monica Studio head Cory Barlog confirmed at SDCC 2026 that more God of War games featuring Kratos are on the way. So, we can look forward to seeing Judge’s version of Kratos with the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos, wielding the iconic white ash and red tattoos in future titles.

  • How To Complete Purple Doors, Blue Flowers, And Metal Bars In God Of War: Sons Of Sparta

How To Complete Purple Doors, Blue Flowers, And Metal Bars In God Of War: Sons Of Sparta

“God of War: Sons of Sparta” is a new 2D side-scrolling game in the metroidvania style. In this game, you once again control Kratos, but this time, you’ll experience part of his youth, when he was a young Spartan warrior.

As you explore, you’ll face many dangerous enemies. To succeed, you need to upgrade your equipment by collecting hidden items and power-ups scattered throughout the game. Three main obstacles you’ll encounter are purple doors that seem impossible to break, metal bars blocking yellow switches, and clusters of blue flowers.

Here’s how to get past these obstacles and uncover all the secret paths and items:

    ### How To Destroy The Purple Doors
To break purple doors, you need to upgrade your Evergreen Flame at the Temple of Hestia. This upgrade is achieved by finding an Eternal Bale at a Sacred Monument and bringing it back to the temple. Once upgraded, your Evergreen Flame can demolish these doors.

Getting to a Sacred Monument connected to Hestia is only possible after you’ve advanced beyond the halfway point in the game. When you reach the Grand Cistern, head west from the corridor campsite into the next room.

In that area, perform a double jump from the ladder onto the raised platform in the top left corner. Interacting with the statue will cause it to drop an Eternal Blade. Pick up this item by holding down Triangle, then carry it to the Temple of Hestia.

Before reaching this point, you’ll need to make a detour. The main story will send you to The Sunken Agora. After clearing that region, you’ll be free to explore again, at which point you can bring the Eternal Blade to the temple.

To destroy a door, equip the Evergreen Flame, then press the right trigger (RT) and Square simultaneously. This performs a Dormant Seeds attack, which breaks the door. In combat, this attack is useful against groups of enemies, so try it out.

    —

    ### How To Destroy The Blue Flowers
Similar to the purple doors, blue flowers are spread across the map. You can learn to destroy the vines covered with blue flowers after upgrading your Harvest Glaive. This upgrade is available once you progress in the story, and you’ll need to return to the Oneus Vineyard when you first get the Glaive.

Go to the main chamber where you fought Alastor and head northwest along the same path that led to the blood fountain. In the room beyond the fountain, you’ll find three groups of flowers. Ricochet the Glaive off them to destroy the vines.

Doing this opens a path to the Sacred Monument of Demeter, where you’ll receive the Radiant Cornucopia. Take this item back to the temple and place it on the central podium to upgrade your Glaive.

Just like with the Evergreen Flame, aim at the flowers and press the right trigger and Square to throw the Glaive. Hit the flowers, then climb the vines they drop to ascend.

Finally, with both your upgraded Evergreen Flame and Harvest Glaive, head to Kyhira Island in the Grand Cistern. Use the boat to reach the island, then go north toward the Sacred Monument of Apollo.

To access this monument, first use the Evergreen Flame to burn down the door, then hit the blue flowers with the Glaive to make vines grow downward. Climb the vines to reach the monument. Interact with it to earn an Undying Hyacinth.

This item can be used to upgrade your Solar Sling, allowing it to break through the iron bars that block switches. Upgrading your gear early, especially after escaping The Sunken Agora, makes many areas more accessible and helps you prepare for tougher fights ahead.

  • All Oneus Vineyard Fountains for Completing & Solving in God of War: Sons of Sparta

All Oneus Vineyard Fountains for Completing & Solving in God of War: Sons of Sparta

God of War: Sons of Sparta is a 2D side-scrolling game that highlights some of Kratos’ early years as a warrior who slays gods and mythical monsters. You’ll spend most of your time battling legendary creatures, but there are moments when exploring is necessary to move forward with the story.

One such moment occurs during the Lost Lion quest, which requires you to find four hidden fountains scattered across the Oneus Vineyard. These fountains aren’t marked on your map, so you’ll need to search around the area to find them. Below are locations of all four fountains and how to cleanse the corruption in the vineyard.

    Fountain #1 Location

Your first fountain is south of the balcony campsite. Head down the large shaft, fighting off Bloody Remains, Leeches, and Nosoi Hags along the way. Eventually, you’ll find a ladder leading to a room with the fountain. To destroy it, break the three red orbs that appear on either side and one in the middle. Bloody Remains will keep spawning until all orbs are destroyed, but only a few will appear on the screen at a time, so it’s manageable.

Once all three orbs are broken, go east and climb up. The path you came down from is blocked, so find another route back to the main area.

    Fountain #2 Location

The second fountain is southwest of the map marker. From there, descend the ladder into the next chamber and head south. Continue west and prepare for frequent battles with Wraiths, Bloody Remains, and Legionnaire Guards.

Wraiths are especially dangerous because they hit hard. Be sure to parry their spinning attack to create an opening for counter-strikes. Watch the ground carefully for signs of the Wraith’s approach, like moving dirt beneath it.

Keep heading south until you reach a room with three braziers. Light them using your Evergreen Flame to lower the gates and access a chest, which contains an Iron Bar. From this area’s bottom, go right into the next chamber, where you’ll find the second fountain. Like before, destroy the three orb-like spirits around it.

    Fountain #3 Location

The third fountain is northeast of the balcony campsite. Navigate through the main hall, defeating enemies like Legionnaire Guards, Bloody Remains, Leeches, and an Onyx Strix—prioritize the Strix first.

The path to this fountain is straightforward. Keep moving north until you reach the target, then break the orbs to free the fountain from the corruption.

    Fountain #4 Location

The last fountain is northwest of the main chamber. Proceed through the hall, defeat the enemies, then enter the room with a large bronze pot. Use your slingshot to shoot four targets located on different floors to ascend to the top of the room. Jump down, go back a level, and head right to find the final fountain.

After destroying all the fountains, use the healing and magic stones above the statue to fully restore your health and magic. Be sure to save your game at the balcony campsite before moving on—you’re about to face a boss fight.

  • How to Beat Ioke in God of War: Sons of Sparta by Completing and Solving

How to Beat Ioke in God of War: Sons of Sparta by Completing and Solving

God of War: Sons of Sparta is a new 2D side-scrolling game that tells the story of a young Kratos, the fierce god slayer everyone knows. Like the main games, it features a variety of mythological enemies eager to kill you.

One of these enemies is Ioke, a giant metal bird, and one of the first bosses you’ll face. This battle is your first test of the game’s combat system. Ioke’s moves can be tough because of his attacks that cover the entire screen. Here’s how to defeat him:

    How to Defeat Ioke

When the fight starts, Ioke will have three main attacks:

    • Buzzsaw Spin: Ioke spins rapidly like a buzzsaw across the screen at high speed. This attack can’t be blocked or parried, so you need to roll through it to avoid damage. Watch for the spin to end, then wait before you roll again. Once he rushes toward you, dodge to the side, then prepare for him to turn and do the same move again.

    • Wind Tornado: Ioke hovers in the air and shoots out a large wind tornado. You can either block it or dodge away. Blocking is safer since you’re unlikely to hit him while he’s airborne. If you prefer to dodge, roll aside to escape the tornado’s reach because it doesn’t go very far.

    • Ground Slam: Ioke glows purple and then slams his body into the ground, creating shockwaves forward and backward. Jump over the shockwaves and quickly run toward Ioke while he’s stunned. During this brief time, you can hit him a few times.

After taking enough damage, Ioke will fly into the air and glowing yellow beams will appear around the arena, showing his flight path. Move out of the light before he crashes down. After he lands, he’ll slam again, creating another shockwave, which you can jump over.

    Repeated Attacks and Increasing Difficulty

Ioke repeats these attacks, but each time he does, they become more numerous:

    • The buzzsaw spin will go across the arena three times instead of two.
    • He will launch multiple shockwaves during the slam.
    • The indefinite attack where he slams with purple glow repeats more times.

Throughout the fight, focus on avoiding damage. Only counterattack when he’s momentarily stunned after a slam. Stay alert especially when he’s about to perform the purple slam because that’s your best chance to land hits.

Once Ioke’s health drops below one-third, the fight escalates:

    • He will fly around the arena more often.
    • When he slams into the ground, attack him immediately afterward.
    • Keep dodging and stay out of his attack range.

This fight is mostly about dodging and timing your attacks carefully. Be patient and wait for the right moment—particularly after his slam—when he’s vulnerable. Defeating Ioke rewards you with a cutscene of him flying away and grants you the Razor Plume item.

  • God of War Studio’s Next Game: Completing a Familiar Franchise

God of War Studio’s Next Game: Completing a Familiar Franchise

God of War: Ragnarok wrapped up its story neatly. Atreus set out on his own to pursue his fate, while the Valhalla DLC showed Kratos learning to forgive himself and stepping into the role of the Norse God of War. Though this chapter has ended, Sony Santa Monica is developing a new game, but no details have been released yet.

There are rumors about a possible return to the Greek world, a metroidvania featuring his brother Deimos from Ghost of Sparta, and even a remastered edition. However, Sony Santa Monica has not confirmed any of these. Recently, Jason Schreier from Bloomberg shared an update, stating that the next project at the studio is progressing well and is significant.

Sony Santa Monica May Be Making Another God Of War Game

He later provided more details on ResetEra, aiming to clarify some confusion among fans. When asked if the project is a new IP, he said:

“I’ll put it this way: it’s not a new IP but it might feel like one. Maybe that’s why people are confused.”

He also mentioned, “Please don’t ask me more questions about this – if I have more information in the future, it will be in an article, not on a forum.” He dismissed the long-standing sci-fi rumors as nonsense.

So, we know it’s not a new IP, and given that Santa Monica has focused mainly on God of War, it seems we may see another installment in this beloved franchise. However, since it might feel like a new IP, there could be some truth to the rumors about Deimos in a metroidvania setting.

It looks like we’ll have to wait for the studio to officially announce the project or for unexpected leaks to reveal more. While the Norse saga has concluded, many believe we haven’t seen the last of Kratos. The dream of seeing him battle through different mythologies continues. The developers even hinted at a possible Egyptian chapter back in God of War 2018.

Discover the Ideal Mythology for a God of War Follow-Up

While the original trilogy of the God of War series concluded on a definitive note, the launch of the Norse Saga revitalized the franchise in an impressive way. This new chapter provided Kratos with a chance for redemption, moving away from his previously brutal quest for vengeance, while introducing conflicts with the gods of the Aesir, such as Baldur, Thor, and Odin. Accompanied by his son Atreus, the narrative of the Norse Saga resonated with many players, ultimately leading to the first game in the series winning Game of the Year and Ragnarök following closely behind.

Given the success of the franchise and hints at exploring other mythologies within the Norse Saga titles, it’s no wonder that fans are eager for another game and speculating about potential new directions for the series. Týr’s appearances in Valhalla, where he showcases his travels to other realms through various weapons during boss battles, further fueled these theories. With the green light for a second season of the Amazon Prime series, it seems the God of War franchise will continue for the foreseeable future.

Egyptian Myth Is Perfect For A God Of War Sequel

It Is The Best Choice Compared To Other Suggested Mythologies

According to GameRant, a new God of War game could be in development, which isn’t surprising considering it has been two years since Ragnarök. Although Valhalla effectively wrapped up Kratos’ redemption journey, there remains much to explore regarding his new identity as the God of War (or God of Hope) and Atreus’ quest to discover the hidden giants. Throughout the Norse Saga, the series has hinted at four different mythologies: Japanese, Aztec, Celtic, and Egyptian.

The series has hinted at four different mythologies throughout the Norse Saga: Japanese, Aztec, Celtic, and Egyptian.

The first three mythologies were explored more thoroughly through Týr’s weapons, but Egyptian mythology appears to be the best fit for the series. Japanese myths and ancient Japan have already been featured in numerous recent games, such as Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, and Assassin’s Creed titles, making the entry of God of War into this competitive market potentially less viable. In contrast, Egyptian mythology has not been as frequently utilized, but it is sufficiently recognizable for the average player to be excited about seeing its gods in a game adaptation.

Týr has four variations of his boss fight in Valhalla, during which he wields different weapons from various mythologies. In the final encounter, he uses all four.

Celtic and Aztec mythologies are less familiar to many audiences, with Celtic myths significantly affected by Roman and Christian suppression. While Irish myths are the best preserved, they have been altered by strong Christian influence. Although Norse mythology has faced similar challenges, it remains relatively intact through sources like the Poetic Edda. Utilizing Aztec gods may also pose complications, as they still receive worship from the Nahua community, which could introduce problematic elements into an adaptation.

Greek and Egyptian Myths Are Connected

Zeus and the Greek Gods Visited Ancient Egypt

Introducing Egyptian mythology in a sequel would provide a seamless transition due to its ties with Greek mythology. Various interpretations of these myths suggest that when the gods fled Typhon, they took on animal forms and escaped to Egypt, explaining the reverence Egyptians had for animal deities. This historical syncretism offers an engaging premise for incorporating Kratos into an Egyptian setting, especially considering Atreus’s shape-shifting powers.

Atreus can utilize giant magic, allowing him to imbue objects with souls and give those souls physical forms.

As Atreus possesses the ability to transform into animals, his journey to locate the hidden giants could lead him to Egypt. The ensuing conflict could arise when the Egyptian Pantheon mistakes Atreus for a Greek god attempting to infiltrate their territory, particularly given the survival of some gods from the original trilogy, such as Aphrodite. This misinterpretation might prompt Kratos and other Norse gods to journey to Egypt as ambassadors, given Kratos’s historical connections to the Greek pantheon, potentially igniting a conflict over his son.

Santa Monica Studio doesn’t necessarily need to emphasize the Egyptian-Greek mythology connection, but it certainly exists to facilitate the narrative if required. Egyptian mythology features iconic figures like Anubis, Ra, and Horus, alongside a fascinating afterlife realm to explore. The vast deserts of Egypt would serve as a dynamic setting packed with diverse monsters to confront, and there’s room to reintroduce creatures from Greek mythology, as there often is crossover (both myths include the Sphinx). It just feels like a natural progression.

God Of War Deserves To Continue For As Long As Possible

Another Generation Has Already Been Established

The God of War franchise has a rich history; even after two decades, fans are still clamoring for more. PlayStation has not nurtured their older characters in the same way they have with Kratos; consider how Lara Croft had a brief, controversial period as an Xbox exclusive, and Crash Bandicoot is now with Activision Blizzard. The God of War series stands as one of the longest-running franchises that PlayStation still exclusively owns, so why stop now when Kratos remains relevant among newer icons like Ellie and Aloy?

If Cory Barlog remains at the forefront of the series, God of War can carry on with its cinematic approach, and as long as it adapts to the evolving standards of modern gaming, there’s no reason the franchise can’t thrive. The series has consistently maintained high quality, producing two excellent titles rather than a series of inconsistent spin-offs, as seen with many surrounding the classic trilogy. Egyptian mythology stands out as an ideal avenue for the series to explore, and it should extend as far as possible.

With the upcoming Amazon Prime series and the God of War franchise celebrating its 20th anniversary alongside two critically acclaimed, award-winning titles, the value of the IP is probably at an all-time high. Sony enjoys profitability, fans adore Kratos, and players appreciate outstanding games, so moving into Egyptian mythology for a new God of War installment is a logical next step. This could yield a defining title for the PS5 before the console reaches the end of its lifecycle, especially since both Norse Saga games could also be played on PS4, arguably making them products of that generation.

  • Sony Cuts Two More Live-Service Games, Including God of War Spin-off

Sony Cuts Two More Live-Service Games, Including God of War Spin-off

In the wake of the Concord debacle, Sony has made the decision to discontinue two live-service projects, including a potential entry in the God of War franchise. On a brighter note, amidst the layoffs affecting the gaming sector, Sony has assured that neither of the involved studios will be shutting down.

According to Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, two of Sony’s PlayStation teams, were developing separate live-service games—a category Sony has heavily invested in. The previous year saw Sony experience significant setbacks with Concord, following the success of Helldivers II. While live-service offerings can be risky, they can yield substantial profits when executed effectively.

One of the cancelled projects was reportedly related to the God of War series, which has disappointed fans who were eager for more content from this beloved franchise, especially since details about the game’s narrative or mechanics were not shared. While the company emphasized that these cancellations wouldn’t result in layoffs at the studios, the potential effects on employment within those teams remain somewhat unclear. An internal memo obtained by Bloomberg indicated that Sony is “working closely with Bend and Bluepoint to outline future projects and aims to minimize any business disruption.”

Sony has been striving to replicate the success seen with titles like Fortnite and Destiny through its own live-service games, but achieving that level of success has proven to be complex and challenging. In an era where nearly every game features some form of subscription service or battle pass, live-service titles must carve out a unique identity to attract players. Originally, Sony aimed to release a dozen live-service games by March 2026, but that target has since been cut down to six as of November 2023.
