Reema Rahbani Shares Details About Ziad Rahbani’s Death:
Fairouz’s only daughter, Reema Rahbani, revealed on Sunday that her brother Ziad died due to medical error and negligence. She stated that his death was caused by “medical error or negligence,” criticizing the doctors he trusted, who refused to involve anyone else in his care.
Reema wrote on her Facebook page: “I have to clarify… Ziad’s death was caused by a medical mistake or negligence by a doctor he trusted, who outright refused to consult with others. Apparently, they didn’t trust him either! This was a serious mistake… May God not forgive those responsible. As a Christian, I am supposed to forgive, but I find myself unable to do so for the first time.”
Who Was Ziad Rahbani?
Ziad Rahbani was a multifaceted Lebanese artist, known for his work as a composer, pianist, playwright, and political commentator. He was the son of Fairouz, one of the Arab world’s most celebrated singers, and Assi Rahbani, a pioneer in modern Arabic music.
At just 17, Ziad composed his first piece for his mother. His debut on stage was in the play “Al Mahatta,” where he portrayed a detective. He also appeared later in the Rahbani Brothers’ production “Mays el Rim,” playing one of the police officers.
