Sony's PS5 Sequel to Classic PS2 Game Suddenly Removed

A popular PS2 game’s 2023 PS5 sequel has unexpectedly been removed from the PS Store and Steam, causing confusion among gamers. Fantavision 202X was a revival of the beloved 2000 puzzle game and was also compatible with PSVR2. The game is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In a statement on Fantavision 202X’s official website, developer Cosmo Machia announced that the game will soon stop being sold on both PS5 and PC. A recent check of its listings across multiple regions confirmed that Fantavision 202X has already been taken down from the PlayStation Store.

Machia explained that the game’s removal is due to the termination of its licensing agreement with Sony. Essentially, Sony decided to delist the game, leaving fans questioning the reasons behind this decision.

Fortunately, players who have already purchased Fantavision 202X will still be able to access it through their PS5 libraries. As a single-player game, your ongoing experience won’t be affected by its delisting.

“We sincerely thank all our customers who supported Fantavision 202X and appreciate your understanding,” Machia stated.

Physical copies of Fantavision 202X might still be available at some retailers.
