Sony has quietly updated the PS Blog to clarify that an announcement about a PS Plus Premium game for July 2026 was made in error, suggesting it was intended for the PS5. Many, including myself, assumed that a PS5 version of Indigo Prophecy (also known as Fahrenheit) would arrive as a remastered or emulated port with new features, as we’ve seen with other titles, but that’s not the case this time.
The game added to his catalog today is simply the 2016 PS4 release of Indigo Prophecy, which often sells for as little as $2 during sales on the PlayStation Store. It’s somewhat disappointing because the game doesn’t run optimally on the PS5 and would greatly benefit from a proper next-gen port, but it appears that’s not happening.
This also means my earlier belief that the 2016 PS4 version would be replaced by a modernized port was incorrect. Sorry about that—I should have known better than to expect Sony would offer two new classics in quick succession, especially since PS Plus Premium hasn’t seen such additions in quite some time.
Currently, Indigo Prophecy isn’t discounted, so it costs $14.99 for the PS4 version. It might be worth waiting for a price drop before making a purchase.
