Silent Hill PS5 Exclusive Shines in New In-Depth Gameplay Trailer

Konami has released a new trailer showcasing several minutes of gameplay for Silent Hill: Townfall. The game is set to launch later this year on PC and PS5. This announcement follows last year’s Silent Hill f, which marked the franchise’s first new installment in over ten years. The series’ resurgence began in 2024 with the remake of Silent Hill 2, leading to a steady stream of new entries each year.

Captured on a PS5 Pro, the gameplay reveals a fresh direction for the franchise. Unlike previous titles, Townfall is played from a first-person perspective. The only other game in the series to feature this view was Silent Hill: The Short Message—a short, free experience released two years ago. Set in Scotland rather than the familiar American town, Townfall approaches the haunting universe from a new locale. This game arrives a few months after the release of the Silent Hill 2 film adaptation, which received mixed reviews.

Below is the gameplay trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall:

What to Expect from Silent Hill: Townfall

In Townfall, players assume the role of Simon Ordell, who wakes up in St. Amelia, Scotland, in 1996. As shown in the gameplay footage, players will need to use a handheld CRTV device to uncover clues about the town and Simon’s backstory. The video depicts Simon exploring the fog-covered streets, which retain the franchise’s signature eerie mist.

Remaining true to the series’ survival-horror roots, Townfall will require players to manage various resources carefully. The gameplay demonstrates Simon using the CRTV to detect and avoid monsters lurking in the town. There’s also melee combat, and players will see Simon entering the “Otherworld,” a distorted, red-glowing version of St. Amelia that exudes an unsettling atmosphere.

Silent Hill: Townfall is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, on PC and PS5. It is developed by Screen Burn Interactive, the team behind stories like Stories Untold and Observation.
