Sucker Punch Productions’ acclaimed PlayStation 5 exclusive has announced its release date for a new story expansion. This update will coincide with the one-year anniversary of the original launch of the game.
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is set to launch soon, featuring a new story chapter called Echoes of Sekigahara. Plus, this edition introduces a new single-player combat survival mode called Most Wanted. PS5 players who haven’t played the game yet will now have the opportunity to experience it in its entirety.
What can players expect from the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition? The story expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara, weaves its narrative between modern-day Ezo and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. Players will meet Nagato, a significant figure from Atsu’s past, who arrives in Ezo searching for her.
In the current timeline, players will explore a hidden valley once occupied by The Snake and his loyal followers, the Vipers. The flashbacks reveal Atsu’s experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara. Additionally, players will witness a pivotal moment in her life before she returned home seeking vengeance. The expansion introduces new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and more, according to the official PlayStation blog.
The edition also features Most Wanted—a single-player combat survival mode that offers a roguelike experience. Players will accept bounties to start new runs, earning perks for defeating enemies and unlocking playable characters along the way.
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, including the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and Most Wanted mode, will be available for PS5 on October 1, 2026.
The Complete Edition is priced at $69.99 for newcomers, while existing players with the base game can upgrade for $14.99.
