Participants in the 48th WorldSkills Competition have already begun their preparation at the official training facilities of Shanghai College of Science and Technology.

Visited yesterday, the training center at Shanghai College of Science and Technology provided a firsthand look at the simulation exercises underway for the upcoming event, which is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 27 in Shanghai. The competition will feature 64 skill-based contests spanning six different categories.

As a prominent secondary vocational school tasked with selecting, training, and supporting participants for multiple WorldSkills events, Shanghai College of Science and Technology has established three training sites dedicated to specific skill areas: autonomous mobile robotics and chemical laboratory technology under the manufacturing and engineering technology category, and web technologies under the information and communication technology category.

The chemistry laboratory skills competition, introduced in 2019, does not include written exams but instead evaluates contestants’ comprehensive professional skills related to laboratory work. It focuses on three main areas: chemical analysis, analysis with multiple instrument classes, and organic synthesis.

The web technologies contest, a central part of the information and communication technology segment, emphasizes full-stack web development, covering aspects such as web design, user interaction development, system architecture, and user experience enhancement.

The training facility dedicated to web technologies emphasizes the full realization of coded functions while also focusing on product design, user experience, comprehension of technical documentation, time management, and adaptability in various situations.
