A new entry in the long-running Serious Sam series is set to launch soon, with a release date announced. Developed by Behaviour Interactive and published by Devolver Digital, Serious Sam: Shatterverse offers multiplayer chaos on current-generation consoles.
The game hits PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 31, 2026. It combines cooperative play, first-person shooter action, and roguelite elements.
Take a look at the trailer below:
The storyline involves a multidimensional force called the Serious Program, which opposes Uber Mental. Players will journey through shifting universes to complete battles that other Sams couldn’t finish. Mental has been hunting the hero across various realities, often prevailing, but now it’s up to you to turn the tide. To do so, you’ll need to defeat his five lieutenants, each a powerful boss seeking complete destruction.
Key features include:
- Multiverse chaos: Multiple versions of Serious Sam from different universes fighting the same war.
- Heavy artillery and immense damage.
- Increasingly destructive battles.
- Remixed armies of Mental’s horde.
- Arcade-style first-person shooter energy.
The PS Store listing for Serious Sam: Shatterverse is now live. Although the price hasn’t been revealed and preorders aren’t available yet, the game can be added to your wishlist.
