Mortal Shell 2 Seals are an essential part of your combat strategy, each providing unique defensive powers that cause Break Damage to enemies. When you deal enough Break Damage—indicated by a gold bar below an enemy’s health bar—you can perform a Riposte. A Riposte is a strong attack animation that deals heavy damage to your foe.
There are many Seals to choose from in Mortal Shell 2, and you’re free to change them at any time based on who you’re fighting or your personal preference. Still, some Seals stand out more than others, and I’ve highlighted the top options below.
Best Mortal Shell 2 Seals
Surprisingly, the top Seal in Mortal Shell 2 is the Vatra’s Seal, which you get right at the start of the game. This Seal gives you the ability to harden instantly against incoming attacks, and if timed correctly, it also causes Break Damage to your enemies.
The reason this Seal is better than many later options is that its ability is immediate, provided you have enough Resolve. It’s also more forgiving with timing compared to other Seals that deliver higher damage but have narrower windows for breaking blocks or longer animation times, making them harder to use consistently.
One of the most powerful Seals is the Mortal Shell 2 Slayer Seal. It significantly reduces the game’s difficulty but comes at a cost, so there’s a dedicated guide explaining how to get and use it effectively.
To maximize your build, make sure to equip the best Mortal Shell 2 Tarstones along with your Seal, and keep an eye out for the Mushroom Village key to unlock new weapons.
