Rockstar Games has finally broken its silence regarding the recent GTA 6 leaks, calling them “heartbreaking.” The highly anticipated open-world game is still set to be released later this year.
In a message posted on social media, Rockstar acknowledged the leak of gameplay videos last week, stating, “We understand many of you have been waiting for an official update. Seeing Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak like this has been deeply upsetting for our team. This isn’t how we envisioned sharing the game with you after all this hard work.”
They added, “We apologize for the delay—it’s taken longer than expected to finalize the game, but we’re almost there!” The company also confirmed that, due to the leaks, GTA 6 will now face some spoilers before launch. Nonetheless, they assured fans that the team remains committed to delivering an outstanding experience with the new installment in the franchise.
The leaks have exposed significant details about the game, including a more detailed look at the map of Leonida, although some reports suggest the footage may not represent the full version. Additionally, a mystery leaker, known as Cyberleek, continues to post more content, including a new gameplay clip that reportedly shows the character Jason stealing cars from NPCs, as reported by Mashable.
Ahead of its official release, GTA 6 will offer an extended preview this week exclusively for Netflix viewers. Subscribers will get a teaser trailer featuring the main characters, Jason and Lucia, and a glimpse of Leonida’s world.
The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
