The PS5 and PS4 versions of the classic 2004 PS2 action-adventure game are now available on the PlayStation Store. Developed by Midway, the studio behind Mortal Kombat, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy received positive reviews upon its initial release but didn’t achieve strong sales. As a result, plans for a sequel were canceled, making these ports the closest thing to a new release in the series.
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is now included in the PS Plus Premium library and can also be purchased separately on the PlayStation Store. Since updates to the store typically happen around midday local time, the release rollout varies by region.
Players take on the role of elite agent Nick Scryer, armed with psychic powers, as they uncover a secretive conspiracy involving the Mindgate Project. The game features battles against rogue operatives while utilizing abilities like telekinesis, mind control, and pyrokinesis through creatively designed levels. Enemies such as the mysterious General Grienko and the dangerous Six each have their own unique psychic skills and motives, adding depth to the story.
The game awards a total of 20 trophies, including the highly sought-after Platinum trophy. Notably, there are no Bronze trophies in the list, just 11 Silver and 8 Gold trophies to earn.
