Sony has already announced a game for PS Plus Premium in August 2026 for both PS5 and PS4. During the June PlayStation State of Play, it was revealed that Capcom’s classic PS2 action RPG/hack-and-slash game, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, will be added to the Classics lineup this month.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is scheduled to join the PS Plus Premium Classics library on Tuesday, August 18, alongside the rest of the Extra and Premium catalog updates. On that same day, Sony will also disclose which games will be leaving the service soon.
It’s worth noting that Sony is currently trialing a staggered release schedule for the PS Plus catalog in the US, UK, and Japan, meaning these countries will see new game additions on different dates than other regions. However, Premium Classics tend to become available globally on the same day, and since Sony typically adds only one classic per month, it’s unlikely that the launch of Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams will be staggered.
The complete list of the August 2026 PS Plus Extra and Premium games, along with the release schedule, will be announced by Wednesday, August 12. Keep an eye out for updates.
