A limited-time deal on the PS Store offers the 2023 PS5 remake of a popular PS1 Square Enix action RPG at half price. Star Ocean: The Second Story R is the third installment in the series, following an enhanced remaster called Second Evolution.
PS5 and PS4 gamers can purchase Star Ocean: The Second Story R (cross-buy compatible) for only $24.99 through August 13, down from the usual $49.99.
This single-player RPG doesn’t require a PS Plus subscription, but Premium members have the option to stream the game via cloud. The story follows two individuals from different worlds who meet by chance and embark on a mission to save the planet Expel, set against a backdrop of countless stars and the edge of the universe. Players can choose their own path and unlock their destiny.
The game features a 2.5D visual style and introduces new gameplay elements compared to the original.
