A highly anticipated PlayStation 5 game has announced its official release date, accompanied by a fresh trailer for the Sci-Fi RPG developed by Archetype Entertainment. The game will launch on current consoles and PC.
Exodus by Archetype Entertainment is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027, and will be available worldwide on that day. Players can find it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The announcement was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live, where Archetype Entertainment also unveiled a new cinematic trailer. In this footage, a new companion character joins the protagonist, along with other allies who assist in battles.
What does the new Exodus trailer reveal?
The latest trailer provides a cinematic preview of the game’s immersive world and showcases some of the combat sequences players will experience as they explore Exodus. The standout moment is the reveal of Salt, an awakened octopus mercenary and bounty hunter.
The official description states: “Watch Jun Aslan, a salvager turned Traveler, team up with Salt, an awakened octopus companion who’s as lethal as she is clever. A mercenary and bounty hunter, she’s been independent—until now. Her desire to survive aligns with Jun’s, and together, they’ll fight to protect what’s most important: home.”
In the trailer, Salt is shown joining Jun Aslan as a partner. She pilots a specialized combat mech suit that allows for long-range sniping, swift evasive maneuvers, and generating ink-like smoke screens to disorient enemies.
The trailer also introduces Emrys, a member of the Deva—an enigmatic celestial species characterized by multiple consciousnesses. Emrys fights alongside Salt and Jun, launching Remnant Orbs that weaken enemies while channeling stolen energy back into Jun for protection.
Despite their different origins, Salt, Jun, and Emrys must unite to confront the threats endangering their planet.
Celebrating over 500,000 wishlists, Exodus’s launch will also unlock the first milestone reward: a Celestial Star Map Decoration for players’ in-game apartments. Additionally, as more milestones are achieved, players will be able to unlock both in-game and external rewards—such as cosmetics, the Salt Companion Story Cinematic, and new music tracks.
