There are already many confirmed side activities in GTA 6 to get excited about, even though the game isn’t out for a few months. These activities cover a wide variety of options. To help you stay organized, we’ve gathered all the details here so you can see what’s coming.
Thanks to the recent GTA 6 Extended Preview, which showcased gameplay footage and included interviews about new features, it’s clear there will be plenty for players to do beyond the main storyline. You’ll take on roles as a crime couple, Jason and Lucia. Many of these side activities aren’t too surprising given the size of the GTA 6 map, but if you want to explore all Leonida has to offer, keep reading.
GTA 6 will feature a range of side activities such as water sports, riding scooters, playing basketball, swimming and diving, hitting the gym, using VR, watching TV, racing cars, carjacking, armed robberies, wrestling, dirt biking, base jumping, clubbing, and shooting ranges.
Here’s a closer look at each:
Water Sports
GTA 6 includes plenty of water-based activities. We saw in the trailer that players can take airboats through crocodile-infested waters, go jet skiing, and kayak in the ocean. If you’re looking to take a break from land vehicles, options like these will be available.
Scooter Riding
While cars dominate transportation, the extended preview also showed characters riding e-scooters around the city. You’ll be able to rent and charge these eco-friendly rides and use them across the map—adding more variety to how you get around, even if you’re up to no good.
Playing Basketball
A short clip in the preview showed Jason shooting hoops outside his house. This suggests there will be a basketball mini-game, and it’s likely you’ll find multiple courts to play at. Fans are hoping for a 3-on-3 mode soon, so stay tuned.
Diving and Swimming
Players will be able to swim and scuba dive in GTA 6. The trailer featured someone exploring the ocean in a wetsuit alongside manta rays and dolphins. This indicates a vibrant underwater world with lots of sea creatures to encounter.
Going to the Gym
A major feature is how your diet affects Jason and Lucia’s appearances. We saw Lucia working out with weights, controlled by button prompts. More gym equipment will probably be interactive too, allowing for a full fitness experience.
VR
Surprising many, the preview showed a character using a VR headset, seemingly for personal reasons. We don’t yet know how to interact with it in the game, but its presence hints at new virtual experiences that could be added soon.
Watching TV
In-game shows and commercials will be part of the environment. The trailer featured a parody ad and a nature documentary, suggesting you can watch TV while relaxing with a drink. Rockstar clearly packed these with detail, so expect to find a variety of programming.
Car Racing
Racing will be a side activity, too. The extended preview showed a mini-race on a dirt track, with players competing in laps. We’re waiting for confirmation on how many tracks will be available, but it’s clear there will be at least one opportunity to showcase driving skills.
Carjacking
Stealing cars remains a staple in GTA. In this game, the world is more responsive, remembers your actions longer, and you’ll need to be cautious—cover your face and stay smart when you steal vehicles to avoid getting caught.
Armed Robberies
Robbing stores will return, with characters seen donning masks and holding up businesses. The trailer shows Jason and Lucia engaged in heists like holding up a liquor store, so this activity remains a core part of their criminal endeavors.
Wrestling
GTA 6 will include hand-to-hand combat, with a wrestling mini-game confirmed from footage of Jason in a backyard ring. It offers a fun break from gunfire and chases.
Dirt Biking
Expect dirt bike races. The trailer depicted multiple bikes zooming along a course, hinting at competitions or stunts that could be part of side events.
Base Jumping
Lucia was shown jumping off a tower and deploying a parachute, indicating base jumping will be available. Exploring Leonida’s skyline from multiple perspectives will be possible, perhaps with a mini-game involved.
Clubbing
Nightlife will be lively, with clubs where you can dance and spend money on entertainers. The trailer showed a few clubs, but more are likely to be scattered across the city for Jason and Lucia to enjoy.
Shooting Range
A shooting mini-game was featured, with Lucia practicing her aim on targets. It’s a perfect way to hone skills with various weapons before big missions.
We’re still collecting details on all activities, so expect updates. Meanwhile, there are guides on the different GTA 6 versions and the locations shown so far.
Stay tuned for more!
