Discovering Coconuts: Pirate Yakuza Adventures in Hawaii

When you’re ready to get the Goromaru into top shape with Julie’s Gearworks in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, you’ll discover she has an impressive selection of weapons and Rings to craft for you, including the Coconut Machine Gun and Coconut Ring.

The catch? You’ll need a lot of Coconuts to create these items. But where can you find enough? No worries, we’re here to guide you through it.

    Where To Find Coconuts

There are a few ways to collect Coconuts, and they may also randomly appear from Merchant Ships at sea.

    Growing On Trees

Coconuts are found on palm trees in various places and can be easily collected using your Chain Hook. Keep in mind, each attempt may not yield a Coconut—there’s a chance you could end up with a Quality Mango instead.

While palm trees can be spotted throughout the game, not all bear fruit. Here are some locations where we’ve found palm trees:

    • Rich Island: Near the steps leading to the Central Plaza.
    • Anaconda Harbour Park: Particularly close to the water.
    • Along the shore of Aloha Beach.

Coconuts will eventually respawn, making it possible to return to the same trees for more harvesting later on.

    Kau Wela Market

You can also buy Coconuts from Kau Wela Market in Anaconda Harbor Park. However, availability is inconsistent because their supply changes. When they do have Coconuts available, it’s usually five Coconuts priced at $2.00 each.

If you don’t see any Coconuts, you can make the stock change by fast traveling to a different taxi point (avoid the closest ones, like the Anaconda Harbor Park Drop-Off Only), then coming back to the market.

  • Quick Cash Strategies in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza Hawaii

Quick Cash Strategies in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza Hawaii

A truly great pirate game is packed with opportunities to make money while exploring the high seas, and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii delivers on that expectation. Although there are various methods to earn cash, some approaches yield higher rewards, particularly if you’re a fan of the game’s unique combat system.

Even though Majima might have lost his memories, his keen intellect and strength are still at your disposal. By Chapter Three, you’ll have access to numerous lucrative methods, giving you plenty of chances to rake in some treasure.

Using Your Chain Hook for Hunting

After you unlock the Chain Hook by talking to Julie at Julie’s Gearworks during Chapter Two, you’ll gain access to various new locations scattered across Hawaii.

Additionally, you’ll be able to catch bugs and fish, making the Chain Hook versatile for treasure hunting and other activities.

This method allows for a more passive way to accumulate cash as you explore different locations. Make an effort to look for the glowing blue hooks, often found on the upper floors of buildings in Honolulu.

Within these hidden spots, such as the one atop Dunghill, you’ll discover treasure chests filled with rare items that offer money, pirate reputation points, and progress towards completing your Treasure Treasury.

This money-making strategy is ideal for those who prefer enjoying the scenery without delving deeply into combat during their treasure-hunting adventures.

    Treasure Islands

A Large Battle on a beach in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.

If you’re keen on discovering treasure-filled chests that yield rare items but prefer to earn your riches with a bit of combat, then searching for treasure islands marked with chest icons on your map is an excellent option.

This is essentially the first top-tier money-making method you’ll encounter early in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Be warned: the harder islands present some of the toughest combat challenges you’ll face in the game.

After defeating the boss at each Treasure Island, Majima opens a chest filled with rare treasures to add to your collection, alongside cash and reputation, similar to what you get from exploration chests.

Before tackling the most challenging islands, you should invest in upgrading Majima’s skills or at least recruit some of the toughest crew members for support.

    Bounties and Pirate Rewards

Bounties are a fantastic way to make quick cash in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, especially if you spend some time upgrading Majima and refining your combat skills.

While bounties become easier with upgrades, you can take on many of the Most Wanted bounties as soon as you gain access to them.

Lopez, the first challenging bounty located just outside the Diamondhead bar, has a $16,000 reward, which is quite significant, particularly in the early game.

If you prefer naval battles over land encounters, Pirate Bounties marked with a skull icon on your map are an excellent option.

These bounties yield greater rewards than the Most Wanted bounties, and defeating certain boss ships can lead to treasure chests with valuables worth close to $100,000.

    Pirates’ Coliseum

Bounties are great, but there’s nothing quite like the convenience of making money at the Pirates’ Coliseum. You’ll find three types of matches in Madlantis’ coliseum:

    1. Quick Clash
    2. Madlantis Mania
    3. Tournament Of Captains

Each match offers progressively better rewards as you ascend the pirate ranks, and your earnings will increase if you complete challenges within specific time limits.

Whether you enjoy the deck battles of Madlantis Mania or the combination of cannon and deck combat found in Quick Clash and the Tournament of Captains, competing in the Pirates’ Coliseum is the best way to farm money in Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.

  • Is Drinking with Saejima in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza Worth It?

Is Drinking with Saejima in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza Worth It?

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii brings Majima into contact with new companions and reconnects him with familiar faces such as Minami, Nishida, and Saejima. After you bring Saejima on board in Chapter Four, their discussions primarily revolve around the sensitive topic of Majima’s forgotten past.

While Majima embraces the person he has become without his memories, Saejima is determined to remind him of the adventures they have shared. Once they have a chance to catch up, their conversations often lead to sharing drinks in the Crew Quarters of the Goromaru during Saejima’s Drink Link.

How to Begin Saejima Taiga’s Drink Link

Once you complete Saejima’s five Bond Chats, he will invite you for a drink. The five Bond Chats are:

    1. A Fight for The Mic
    2. Brothers
    3. Preserving Memories
    4. Batting Buddies
    5. A Beautiful Fin

To start the drink session, head down to the Crew Quarters where you’ll find Saejima hanging out near an anchor on the wall, across from the bar. Approach him and select “Drink with Saejima” to kick things off.

What to Say to Saejima: Choice One

Saejima reminisces about the times they used to enjoy drinks together and expresses sadness over Majima’s lost memories. He starts sharing a story about a Yakiniku restaurant, hoping to jog Majima’s recollections. In the middle of his tale, he asks a quiz question about what Majima used to order most often.

    You’ll have three choices:

    1. It’s gotta be kalbi.
    2. I’m in the mood for some good ol’ tripe.
    3. Hirami. Y’know, like the diaphragm.

The correct option is “I’m in the mood for some good ol’ tripe.” If you choose incorrectly, Saejima will show disappointment, but at least he’ll appreciate your memory of various cuts. If you pick the right answer, Saejima will get excited and share even more stories.

What to Say to Saejima: Choice Two

After reminiscing about the tasty grilled tripe, Saejima makes a point about how people need to endure challenges to earn his approval. The conversation soon shifts to love, with the amnesiac Majima showing unusual curiosity about Saejima’s romantic interests.

Eventually, Saejima becomes candid enough for you to suggest he meet one of three women:

    1. Moana.
    2. Naomi.
    3. Queen Michele.

The best choice for Saejima is "Naomi," as she’s a strong character who leads a lifestyle similar to his own. After discussing romance further, Saejima highlights Majima’s commitment to Noah and his role as a father figure.

Once the conversation wraps up, your bond with Saejima will deepen, raising his level cap to 50 and enhancing his Squad Leader Trait to "Veteran Bonded," which significantly boosts both Attack and Defense, while also increasing Stun Resistance.

  • Aloha Link Rewards: Pirate Yakuza’s Hawaiian Adventure

Aloha Link Rewards: Pirate Yakuza’s Hawaiian Adventure

Aloha Links is back in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, so get ready to make a memorable impression with all the new friends you’re about to meet in Honolulu. If you’re not familiar with this returning feature, it lets you form friendships with area NPCs, and in return, you’ll earn a variety of rewards.

For all the details on Aloha Links, including when it becomes available and the rewards you can earn, we’ve provided a complete guide for you.

Though you can greet NPCs as soon as you see them, you won’t be able to form friendships until you’re properly introduced to Aloha Links. This occurs in Chapter Two during your second visit to Revolve Bar as part of the main story. Kei assists Majima in navigating the Aloha Links app and demonstrates how to use it—then you can start making connections!

Aloha Links menu in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Aloha Links acts as a social media app on your phone, serving as a fun way to connect with NPCs throughout Honolulu.

    How to Befriend NPCs

As you move through Honolulu, you’ll see various NPCs—humans and animals alike—with a small grey smiley face icon above their heads. This indicates that you can form a friendship with them through Aloha Links.

Here’s how you can befriend NPCs:

    • Save Them from Thugs

Some NPCs may find themselves cornered by thugs, and you’ll need to defeat the thugs to secure a friendship. You’ll also receive a small item as a reward for your efforts.

Note: These encounters appear random and are not limited to specific NPCs. The same NPC might just be wandering around, allowing you to form a friendship later without engaging in a fight.

    • Buy Items from Them

Many potential friends run shops or carts. To befriend these NPCs, you can purchase something from them, whether it’s food or a meal in their restaurant.

    • Give Them Their Requested Items

NPCs with a chat box above their heads will often ask for something when you talk to them—typically food or a drink. Simply provide them with the item they request to befriend them.

    • Feed Them

Animal NPCs will require you to feed them in order to become friends.

Note: Pet food can be purchased at various stores and found throughout Honolulu by opening containers. For some animals, you may also offer insects or other types of food.

How to Increase Your Bond into Buddies

Each NPC you befriend will have a green gauge below their smiley face icon. You can build your relationship by greeting them or buying from them. Once the gauge is filled, your friendship level will rise from Friends to Buddies.

Having more Buddies will enhance Majima’s reputation.

You also need at least 30 Buddies to recruit Kei as a crew member, while you need 100 Friends for the Revolve Bartender to join your crew.

How to View Your Current Friends and Buddies

To check your progress with Aloha Links, go into the Menu, choose ‘Smartphone’, and tap on the ‘Aloha Links’ app (the icon featuring a hand).

From this app, you can see how many Friends and Buddies you have, along with your current member status.

A message from Kei in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

When you reach various milestones regarding the number of friends you’ve made, Kei will send you a message inviting you to return to Revolve for a reward.

If you haven’t claimed your last reward/message from Revolve, Kei won’t message you again until you do.

However, you can continue befriending new NPCs, and whenever you return to Kei, you’ll promptly receive your next message after claiming the previous reward.

  • Level Up with Hostess Rina in Yakuza Kiwami: A Guide

Level Up with Hostess Rina in Yakuza Kiwami: A Guide

In Yakuza Kiwami, players can explore a lively open world where Kiryu engages in various activities, including visiting local Cabaret Clubs to interact with charming hostesses. This interaction is part of a minigame where players aim to impress the hostess they meet.

One such hostess is Rina, a delightful character with whom you can build a relationship. If you’re looking to capture her affection and unlock the ‘Rina The Hostess’ achievement or trophy, this guide is designed to help you every step of the way.

    Finding Rina

To meet Rina, you must first go to the MEB, located in the northern part of Kamurocho behind the Millennium Tower. Speak to the attendant there to learn about Rina.

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of Club Shine on map.

After that, head to Club Shine, found in the southeast corner of the map on Pink Street, where you can finally see Rina.

    Winning Rina’s Affection

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of Rina's Affection bar with an image of Kiryu and Rina behind it.

The game features a ranking system for Rina’s affection, starting from rank F and progressing to rank S. To do this, you must work to fill the pink progress bar shown during your interactions with her. Reaching the end of this bar will move you up a rank.

You can fill this bar by choosing the right dialogue, ordering her favorite food and drink, wearing appealing outfits, giving thoughtful gifts, and planning enjoyable outings. You don’t have to accomplish everything, but each action helps boost her affection.

    Best Food and Drink Choices

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of drink list at the club.

Rina has simple tastes and isn’t particularly picky about food and drinks, so there’s no need always to go for the priciest items.

She especially enjoys Yamazaki 12 Years Old whiskey and Chicken Karaage, which are not the most expensive options but always please her.

    Dress to Impress

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of French Cologne equipped.

What Kiryu wears won’t affect Rina’s feelings too much, so his classic suit works just fine. However, the items you equip in the gear and accessories slots before meeting her can make a difference. Rina doesn’t respond well to strange outfits or armor.

She enjoys either French or Italian cologne, which can be purchased at Le Marche. Wearing some will enhance her affection for you. However, if you’re low on funds, you can go without anything equipped in those slots without losing affection.

    Gift Ideas for Rina

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of gift list at the club.

During certain meetings, you have the chance to give Rina gifts. If she appreciates the gift, her affection will rise.

Rina has a preference for a number of high-end gifts, particularly items available at Le Marche, like the Swiss Watch, Italian Ring, Gold Bracelet, French Sandals, and Italian Scarf.

    Going on Dates

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of activity options when on a date.

Once you have melted Rina’s heart enough, you’ll be able to invite her out on dates during your visits to the club. If she agrees, you’ll receive directions to where to meet her.

Upon arriving, you can select a fun activity. Rina enjoys Karaoke, making it a great option that will boost her affection after the date concludes.

    Conversation Starters

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of Rina speaking with Kiryu at the club.

Here’s a useful list of what Rina might say and the best responses to keep her engaged:

    What Rina Says Best Response
Hee hee, not that either! I don’t follow sports either.
Yes! I love girls. And everywhere you look around here, it’s cute girls, cute girls, and cute girls! It’s heaven! You look happy.
At this rate, I’ll never be able to buy a camera! You’ve got to spend it to make it.
But I feel like I should try out different restaurants, even if I pick the occasional stinker. What kind should I go to? Somewhere with a big buffet.
Yes, actually. One day, the person I was seeing broke up with me over wanting to go out with someone else. That’s not really cheating…
I mentioned it, didn’t I? Of course it was a girl. They’re so progressive overseas.
I couldn’t clap or cheer, so I just sat there listening. It was SO not fun. I’ve never had such painful karaoke before. He ought to sing current songs.
And the other day, I went to a meet-and-greet event. She had such a small head, and such soft hands… She was adorable! It’s nice that you can get so close.
Well, can you think about it now? What would you like to do if you were a girl? Go out with a guy.
Maybe I like them because I’m into my own gender. So if I were a guy, maybe I’d be attracted to a cool, buff guy. You don’t like yourself.
I know! Whenever I see all these people crowding the streets it reminds me how much I hate living in Tokyo. I don’t like crowds either.
That’s the difference between men and women. I think guys would be more popular if they paid attention to that stuff. Yeah, we shouldn’t forget.
I see. I would like to become like one of those ladies who lives a cool life. You don’t want that.
Kiryu-san, what would you think if someone called you cute? Am I cute?
It feels like they want to get a reaction out of the girls by making perverted jokes. It’s basically sexual harassment, and it’s creepy. Respond with pervy jokes.
I don’t have time! By the time I get home, I’m exhausted and I just crash. When I wake up, it’s already time for work. Do you want me to help?
If I told you that I wanted a child, would you help me? Don’t be ridiculous.
Oh, it’s okay! Don’t worry about it! It’s not a problem with a simple solution. They know it’ll take a long time. What about adoption?
No way! Girls are cute because they’re girls. Men shouldn’t be wearing makeup! How about at okama bars?
Exercise? Ugh, I can’t! I can’t exercise at all! It’s better to be fat.
Alright, let’s just pretend then! If a girl who is sooooo your type is right in front of you, would you approach her? Of course.
*sigh* What should I do? Is there someone in particular?

    Important Events

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of a text from Rina.

As you increase Rina’s affection level, events will start to unfold. Completing these events is crucial for progressing your relationship with her.

    First Event

The first event kicks off when Rina invites you to grab tea together. So, make your way to Nakamichi Street, located to the west of Club Shine. Approach her, and a conversation will automatically start, leading to the continuation of the event.

    Second Event

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of Rina talking to Kiryu after shopping.

The second event starts with Rina texting you about going shopping. You need to meet her again on Nakamichi Street to kick off this event. During the outing, you both browse through stores, and it will unfold as a series of dialogues.

    Third Event (Freedom to Romance)

Yakuza Kiwami screenshot of Cafe Alps on the map.

The final event with Rina begins when she texts you about a date she will be going on. This also marks the start of the Freedom to Romance substory. To begin, head to Cafe Alps, located on Nakamichi Street. Upon arrival, you’ll see Rina walking away.

All Romanceable Characters in Yakuza: Like A Dragon 7

While Yakuza: Like A Dragon offers plenty of intense action, it’s also packed with role-playing activities. Beyond battling and exploring dungeons, the main character, Ichiban Kasuga, has numerous ways to occupy his time in the city, including dining, enjoying drinks, playing games, and meeting new friends.

As the narrative unfolds, Ichiban meets several women who spark his interest. By enhancing his personality traits and engaging with them, he can build closer connections that may lead to romance.

As of December 26, 2024, by Andrew Scariati: If you’re uncertain about your romance options in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, we’re here to guide you. Whether you’re seeking a quick path to relationship success or still pondering your choices, this guide provides all the necessary insights to help Ichiban find love before diving into the latest installment, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.

Who Are Your Potential Romance Partners?

Throughout the game, Ichiban can form bonds with six different romantic partners. To establish these connections, he must improve certain aspects of his personality.

    How To Romance A Character

Each woman connects with different personality traits of Ichiban. You’ll need to interact with four of them when their corresponding personality trait reaches levels four, seven, and ten.

To fully transition into a romantic relationship with any of them, their related personality trait must be maxed out at level ten.

For the four women who are not party members, you must engage with them multiple times and present them with gifts as you reach specific levels of personality traits.

The gifts consist of bouquets, which you can either grow or purchase. Then, take them to the Survive Bar Barkeep to turn them into beautiful arrangements.

If you prefer, you can buy bouquets from a shop called Flowers 2 Go located in Yokohama’s waterfront area.

Here’s how to foster romance with the non-party members:

    1. Engage with the character once you attain level four in their favored personality trait.
    2. Gift them bouquets to boost your bond.
    3. Speak to them again once you’ve reached level seven in that personality trait.
    4. Gift them their favorite flower to strengthen your connection.
    5. Engage once more upon reaching level ten in the personality trait.
    6. Continue to gift them their favorite plant until your bond is at its peak.

Additionally, each woman has a story arc that Ichiban must complete before pursuing romance.

Party members simply need their bond maxed out to initiate their romance storylines.

    How To Romance Saeko

Meeting Saeko in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Saeko, the first female party member Ichiban encounters, is a strong-willed and passionate individual. She begins to lower her defenses around Ichiban and his crew once she recognizes their genuine concern.

No gifts are necessary, but you’ll need to enhance her Bond to level 5 by battling alongside her, chatting in Party Chats, and visiting Seagull Cinema together.

To grow closer, make sure to complete her Drink Links at the Survive Bar after maximizing her Bond.

Once her Bond is at its peak, you’ll also need to level up your Style to ten before asking her out.

    How To Romance Eri

Eri Smiling in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Eri, the second female party member, initially presents as an acquaintance who Ichiban assists in revitalizing her struggling business.

You’ll need to successfully complete the Management quest to elevate her business in the Share Price ranks.

This action will maximize her Bond and open the door for a romantic relationship. However, before asking her out, it’s essential to have Ichiban’s Kindness at level ten.

    How To Romance Iroha

Iroha stands at Survive Bar in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Upon visiting the Survive Bar, Ichiban not only meets the intriguing Barkeep but also the approachable and conversational hostess, Iroha. She gives you the chance to replay any Party Chats you’ve had.

Iroha responds positively to Ichiban’s Charisma, and at levels four, seven, and ten, you will need to provide her with one, five, and ten bouquets of roses, respectively.

Afterward, ensure you’ve participated in at least 20 Party Chats to proceed with asking her out.

Gathering Party Chats can be done by visiting intriguing locations like restaurants, bars, and monuments around town.

    How To Romance Sumire

Sumire scratches her ear in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

In classic RPG style, there is a spot called the Romance Workshop run by the talented Sumire where you can craft and enhance your gear.

She is most responsive to Ichiban’s Passion, requiring one, five, and ten Bonsai trees at levels four, seven, and ten, respectively.

Also, you’ll need to completely fund her workshop with over 20,000,000 yen before asking her out.

The quickest way to earn this amount is by completing the Management quest, allowing you to reap Shareholder bonuses between two to three million yen with each successful run.

    How To Romance Miyakoshi

Miyakoshi stands in front of a wall in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

This lengthy side quest involves visiting Ounabara Vocational School and enrolling for exams alongside the pleasant Miyakoshi.

Miyakoshi appreciates Ichiban’s Intellect, requiring one, five, and ten bouquets of lilies as you reach levels four, seven, and ten.

Additionally, you must clear all exams at the vocational school before requesting a date with her. Each exam costs between 30,000 and 50,000 yen, so it’s wise to save beforehand to avoid financial waste.

    How To Romance Ririka

Ririka sits in Hello Work in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

In a nod to traditional RPGs, Ichiban can change jobs that grant varying abilities by speaking to the diligent and soft-spoken Ririka at Hello Work.

She responds to Ichiban’s Confidence, needing one, five, and ten bouquets of pansies at levels four, seven, and ten, respectively.

Among all characters, Ichiban has the broadest range of job options, but he needs to enhance his physical stats and various personality traits to unlock them all.

Before asking Ririka out, ensure that Ichiban has tried each job. To confirm that the game acknowledges Ichiban’s job attempts, make sure to level it up before switching.
