Where to Find All Verso’s Drafts Pictos in Clair Obscur: Solving Expedition 33

    Picto Effect Location Images
Slowing Attack The basic attack inflicts Slow for 1 turn. From the Open Playground checkpoint (the starting point in the area), head to the right and find the hot springs spot. It has one hot spring with two large Esquie statues, a waterfall, and some Gestrals. The Picto is among them. Additional
Empowered Healer Using a healing skill increases damage by 50% for 1 turn. Continue past the hot springs, meet a Gestral next to a hopscotch, turn left, follow the path into the forest, take the right fork into a narrow trail with planks. The Picto is in front of you. Images Additional
Gradient Parry Adds 5% to the gradient charge during Parry. In the previous fork, instead of passing through the blankets, turn left and follow the trail after a small jump. The Picto can be seen on the hand of an Esquie statue. Images Additional
Longer Break Extends break by 1 turn; cannot break the same target twice. Find an enemy in a wheelchair with boxing gloves after the previous hot springs. Defeat it to get Longer Break. Images
SOS Healing Tint Use after dropping below 50% health. After defeating the long-legged enemy, turn right to face two tall enemies resembling large-legged beings. Alternatively, from the first checkpoint, go northeast to a water pool with NPCs. The enemy is near a door with eyes. Images Additional
Double Third Every third skill hit does double damage. From the start, descend north, find a large figure with two lollipops next to a turtle, defeat it to unlock this Picto. Images
Empowering Jumps Jump counters do 100% extra damage per success. Past the previous enemy, on the right in the water level, find a small Gestral on a seesaw. Challenge it to perform perfect jumps; timing is tricky, but it increases the damage of jump counters. Images Additional
Damage Share 50% of damage received transfers to allies if possible. After defeating the tall enemy with long legs, turn right to see two red stone enemies resembling turtles. They are beside trees. Images
1st Critical Adjustment On crit, next non-crit hit deals 100% more damage. Back to the area where you fought the big lollipop enemy, go through the pink cave to the sky-blue tunnel, then turn right to find the Pictos near the entrance. Images Additional
Overcharge Use 3 gradient charges at turn start to deal 200% damage. Exit the carousel area through the large doors into the final big outdoor section of Verso’s Draft. Follow the water past a turtle enemy in a wagon. Climb toy cubes and continue left for a candy prize. Images Additional
AP Discount Skills cost 1 less AP. In the open area, cross the xylophone bridge, turn left, behind a cube you’ll see a trader selling this Picto for 217,000 Chroma. Images Additional
Consuming Attack Uses up to 100 Burns for +10% damage per Burn. Also sold by the previous trader; costs 130,200 Chroma. (No image specific)
Frenzy Each skill hit increases damage by 10%. After getting three cake pieces and opening the door with eyes, defeat enemies in the area and interact with a train wagon at the end to reach the arena with a mini-boss. Defeat it to get the Picto. Images Additional
Trigger Happy Shooting balloons 10 times grants +2 AP; subsequent shots deal 200% more damage. Near a seesaw with a kid holding balloons, aim and destroy the balloons, then talk to the kid. The fight involves shooting only the floating balloons on the sides. Images Additional
Alternating Critical On crit, next non-crit hit deals 100% more damage. Return to the area where the big enemy with lollipops was defeated, go through a pink cave to a sky-blue tunnel, then turn right to find the Picto near the entrance, past a big enemy. Images Additional
  • Ultimate Verso Build for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Completion

Ultimate Verso Build for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Completion

Verso becomes part of your team at the start of Act 2 in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, bringing new and powerful combat options. Similar to Gustave, he wields a sword and shares some skills with him, but he also has a diverse set of unique abilities he has acquired throughout his journey.

Verso excels in defensive maneuvers like dodging and parrying, and he can also be built as a support character or a low-health berserker. If you have Recoats available, he can even shift between these roles as required.

Understanding Verso’s Perfection Ranks in Clair Obscur

In battle, Verso has a Perfection Rank that ranges from D to S, which is displayed on the right side of the screen during his turn. He starts each fight at D, and the rank meter fills when he successfully hits an enemy or defends with a dodge or parry. Once the meter is full, he moves up a rank. The higher his Perfection Rank, the more damage he inflicts with his attacks.

However, if Verso gets hit by an enemy attack, he loses a complete Perfection Rank. This means that a series of unblocked hits can drop him all the way back to D, along with the usual damage taken.

Moreover, many of Verso’s Skills activate extra effects when executed at a specific Rank. It’s crucial to note that these effects only work at the precise Rank indicated, not at higher or lower ranks. For instance, Assault Zero will receive a damage boost only if used at Perfection Rank B; using it at A or S will not grant that bonus (though the standard buff for a high Rank will still apply).

Be mindful of how Verso’s Skills are worded; “gain 1 Perfection” means increasing the meter by one point, while “gain 1 Perfection Rank” indicates a jump to the next letter.

    Tips for Playing as Verso

Verso is one of the most versatile characters in Clair Obscur. Instead of having a fixed role, there are several ways to customize his abilities. When building him, you should begin with his chosen weapon.

Most of Verso’s weapons impact how he gains or utilizes Perfection during combat. It’s essential to thoroughly check the upgrade options for weapons when equipping him, especially when you discover a new blade or level up. The weapon he wields can alter his combat style more than for any other character.

One of our top picks is the Gaulteram, an Earth-elemental sword that lessens the amount of Perfection lost when Verso takes damage. On the other hand, if you have parrying down to a science, that ability might not be necessary.

    Attributes and Skills

When configuring Verso’s Attributes and Skills, base them on his weapon choice instead of the opposite:

If Verso’s Weapon Is Strong In…

    Consider Equipping…

    Vitality

    Berserk Slash, Defiant Strike, Overload.

    Agility

Ascending Assault, Steeled Strike, Speed Burst.

    Defense

    Leadership, Perfect Recovery, Purification.

    Luck

Assault Zero, Light Holder, Steeled Strike.

    Pictos and Lumina

By the time you add Verso to your party, you will likely have mastered a variety of Pictos and accumulated some Lumina Points to spend on his enhancements. Selecting versatile options like Dead Energy and Energizing Start is beneficial for any character, including Verso.

Since Verso’s effectiveness depends on parrying, consider using Augmented Counter and/or Breaking Counter to maximize his counterattacks. Alternatively, you could invest all 20 points into Confident for a significant damage increase, but note that this means he won’t be able to heal.

If allocating 20 Lumina Points seems excessive, you can simply equip the Confident Pictos in one of Verso’s three slots.

Some of Verso’s skills benefit from him being at low health, making SOS and Critical Luminas suitable additions if you choose this strategy, along with Revive Luminas that can give buffs to the team when Verso is revived after being knocked out.
