Unlocking the Twilight Pants in Zelda: TotK

Drawing inspiration from *Twilight Princess*, the Trousers of Twilight in *Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom* are a key part of the Armor of Twilight set, enhancing Link’s attack power. This nostalgic piece of gear, once forgotten, has made its return to empower both new and veteran players alike.

This guide will walk you through the process of obtaining the Trousers of Twilight and how to leverage them for extra benefits in your gaming experience.

Location of the Trousers of Twilight in *Zelda: TotK*

You can acquire the Trousers of Twilight through one of two methods. The first option is simpler, but it requires you to spend a bit of money on a specific amiibo.

If you scan Link’s amiibo from *Super Smash Bros*, you’ll unlock these trousers. Keep in mind that you can only use a single amiibo per day, so plan accordingly to avoid any potential conflicts with your preferences.

If you’re not keen on using an amiibo, don’t worry! You can also find these trousers through traditional exploration. Head to the North Akkala Sky Archipelago in the northeastern part of the map, land on a small island, and look for a treasure chest at the following coordinates: (4267, 3108, 0783). Inside, you’ll find an Old Map that will guide you to the Trousers of Twilight in the depths below.

Next, venture to the Ancient Akkala Ruins and dive into the depths. Here, you will uncover the Ancient Underground Fortress. Be prepared, as this area is teeming with enemies. You can choose to battle them or evade them, as they are not essential to your search for the trousers.

Once you’ve acquired the trousers, you can also purchase them again from the Bargainer Statues in the depths for 400 poes.

To claim the Trousers of Twilight in *Zelda: TotK*, open the treasure chest located at these coordinates: (3318, 1505, -0856). It can be found inside a small house close to the ruins.

Stats and Uses of the Trousers of Twilight

The Trousers of Twilight are part of the Armor of Twilight set. They provide a base defense of 3, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 4 stars (20 defense) using the Fairy Fountains.

When worn with the complete Twilight set, you also receive the Attack Up ability, significantly boosting your attack strength against foes.

Complete List of Crystal Refinery Locations in Zelda: TotK

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provides various exciting methods for navigating the expansive landscapes of Hyrule. One notable approach involves utilizing Zonai constructs, which require specific energy cells to operate. These energy cells can only be generated and enhanced through the Crystal Refinery feature in Zelda: TotK.

While the game features two Crystal Refineries, players can choose to bypass them entirely. These refineries operate differently from Forge Constructs, which we’ll clarify further along with guidance on locating and using the refineries.

Where to Find Crystal Refineries in Zelda: TotK

The game contains just two Crystal Refineries. One is positioned on the Great Sky Island, while the other is located on the ground below.

The first Crystal Refinery is tucked away inside a cave close to the Nachoyah Shrine, situated in the southern region of Great Sky Island. This shrine is also where players acquire the Recall ability.

While the shrine itself is hard to overlook, the nearby Crystal Refinery can easily be missed. If you happen to miss the first one, the second is much more straightforward to locate. After starting the “Crisis at Hyrule Castle” quest, head towards Lookout Landing, which serves as the main base for those searching for Princess Zelda.

Upon leaving Lookout Landing to the north, you’ll discover the second Crystal Refinery positioned slightly northeast. It’s nestled among some trees, but spotting it shouldn’t be too challenging. Speak with the Steward Construct present to activate the Crystal Refinery in Zelda: TotK.

How to Operate the Crystal Refinery in Zelda: TotK

The Crystal Refinery is always managed by a steward construct, who assists you in creating energy wells.

Each energy well, which appears as a small box, contains three energy cells. You need to provide the steward with 100 Crystallized Charges to create one energy cell.

You have the option to produce up to 15 additional Energy Wells, allowing you to stack up to 45 extra Energy Cells. This means you will require a total of 4,500 Crystallized Charges. With this abundance of energy cells, you can keep using your Zonai vehicles, like Hoverbikes, for extended durations.

A Mystery in the Depths: A Guide to the Quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A Mystery in the Depths is a pivotal quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, where you delve into one of Link’s fundamental abilities, culminating in a battle against a formidable boss.

Starting and finishing this quest can prove to be more challenging than it appears. This guide provides a step-by-step breakdown to assist you in your endeavor.

Initiating A Mystery in the Depths in Zelda: TotK

To kick off this quest, you must speak with Josha, located in Lookout Landing, directly beneath Purah. However, before you can do this, it’s essential that you complete at least one Regional Phenomena quest (the Tulin of Rito is highly recommended) along with another quest called Camera Work in the Depths.

Once these prerequisites are met, engage in conversation with Josha. She will provide you with some Brightbloom Seeds and instruct you to follow a series of mysterious statues located in the depths.

Following the Statues in the Depths

The first statue you need to find is close to the Iayusus Lightroot. If you’ve previously activated this lightroot, you can fast-travel there to locate the statue.

This statue points south. Carefully follow the direction indicated by the statues while either evading or defeating the enemy camps along the way. Utilize the Brightbloom seeds Josha gave you to illuminate your path.

Tip: You can toss Brightbloom seeds by hand to save your arrows for later use.

The next lightroot you’ll encounter along your journey is the Nihcayam Lightroot. Activating this lightroot establishes a new fast-travel point. Continue southward until you reach the Great Abandoned Central Mine.

Unlocking the Autobuild Ability and Battling Master Kohga

Upon reaching the Great Abandoned Central Mine, you will see several constructs. Speak with the steward construct to unlock the Autobuild ability, which lets you recreate any construct you’ve previously designed using Ultrahand.

The constructs will then require you to prove your skills by repairing a vehicle. Once you successfully do so, Master Kohga will arrive aboard his own vehicle.

Defeating Master Kohga isn’t straightforward; he will alter his vehicle multiple times throughout the battle. To excel in this fight, consider using Keese Eyeballs with your arrows, or climb onto his vehicle for a surprise attack.

Be cautious of his attacks from the sides, and keep your health up as recommended in our cooking guide. After you defeat Master Kohga, he will retreat, leaving you with a Schema Stone.

Schema Stones allow you to save constructs for later Autobuild use.

    Returning to Josha

After taking down Master Kohga, fast-travel back to the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and speak with Josha again. She will present you with another schema stone and request that you repair the hot air balloon for Robbie.

Go outside and use your Autobuild ability to fix the hot air balloon. This will enable Robbie to return to Hateno Village, where you can visit his lab for upgrades to your Purah Pad.

With that, A Mystery in the Depths quest will come to an end.

Rewards for Completing A Mystery in the Depths

    • 2 Schema Stones
    • Autobuild Ability

This guide is designed to help you navigate the depths and uncover the mysteries that await in Tears of the Kingdom. Good luck on your adventure!

TotK: Guide to the Forgotten Laborer’s Journey

In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the Abandoned Laborer quest involves Link rescuing a Goron trapped within a mine that is about to explode. With no escape route available for him, you become the sole hope for this unfortunate soul in all of Hyrule, armed with your versatile abilities.

This guide will outline how to initiate the Abandoned Laborer side quest and present multiple strategies for rescuing the stranded Goron.

    Initiating the Abandoned Laborer Quest

To kick off the Abandoned Laborer side quest in Zelda: TotK, head over to the Death Mountain West Tunnel. This tunnel is situated northwest of Death Mountain in the Eldin Region, with its entrance coordinates being (2341, 2686, and 0514).

Upon arrival, speak with the Goron at the tunnel’s entrance. He will inform you about the laborer trapped inside the cave, initiating the quest.

    Completing the Abandoned Laborer Quest

Before entering the cave, ensure you either drink a Flame-Resistant Potion or wear the Flamebreaker armor. Don’t forget to remove any wooden shields or weapons to prevent them from catching fire.

Avoid using bombs within the mine as they will detonate instantly.

Enter the tunnel and navigate across the lava-filled pit using your paraglider. On the far side, you’ll find a Goron named Mota.

Mota will request your assistance in getting across the lava pit, and you have a few methods to solve this challenge.

One approach is to grab a cart nearby and position it on the train tracks next to Mota. Speak with him, and he will hop into the cart. If you’ve previously completed the Fire Temple and unlocked Yunobo’s Charge ability, summon him to strike the rear of the cart.

This will propel the cart across the lava pit. Alternatively, you can break a nearby wall using a blunt weapon. Behind the wall, you’ll discover a couple of Zonai Rockets.

Collect both rockets, attach them to the back of the cart using Ultrahand, and once Mota is seated in the cart, strike it with a weapon to activate the rockets. This will propel the cart over the broken bridge.

After crossing the bridge, converse with Mota to successfully finish the quest.

Rewards for Completing the Abandoned Laborer Quest

After your successful rescue, Mota will express his gratitude and reward you with a Large Zonai Charge. This concludes the Abandoned Laborer side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Nintendo Confirms Prices for BotW and TotK Upgrade Packs

According to an IGN interview with a high-ranking Nintendo official, upgrade packs for both Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are anticipated to retail for $10 each. This total of $20 for both packs comes as a pleasant surprise amid concerns regarding the overall pricing strategy for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Bill Trinen, Vice President of Product and Player Experience at Nintendo of America, provided valuable insights during the conversation about the Nintendo Switch 2. He disclosed pricing details for several games, including a digital-only release titled Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which is priced at $9.99.

Trinen elaborated on how the pricing was established, stating, “We evaluate each specific game, consider its content and value, and determine the right price for that entertainment experience.” He clarified, “For those who already own Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs will cost $9.99. Additionally, if you’re a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member, both Zelda upgrade packs will be included with that subscription at no additional cost. Our overall strategy is to focus on content value and ensure we set appropriate prices accordingly.”

The addition of these upgrade packs to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription significantly increases its value, particularly for dedicated fans of the Legend of Zelda series. However, it’s important to note that the initial prices for both games have increased. If you haven’t purchased Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom yet, the prices for their Nintendo Switch 2 versions are set at $70 and $80, respectively.

The pricing structure includes the original game cost along with the upgrade pack price. If you’ve considered diving into these classic Switch titles but held off so far, now could be the perfect moment, especially if you are a subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Existing owners can save $10 on each title; however, buyers of the new games do not receive any discount for being NSO members.
