Digital Phablet – Turkish actors Helin Kandemir and Hakan Çelebi are collaborating for the first time on “Çiçekçi Kız” (The Flower Girl), an original digital series currently in production for TOD. This romantic drama introduces two emerging stars in a story that combines elements of romance, mystery, and everyday life.
According to Turkish entertainment sources, the series is produced by Ofis Medya and created by acclaimed filmmaker Deniz Akçay, who is handling both writing and directing duties. The project is envisioned as a short-form digital series tailored for streaming viewers.
Production officially kicked off with a script reading involving the cast, signaling the beginning of filming, which will proceed into full production stages.
Helin Kandemir has been cast as Nilüfer, a driven young woman who chooses to leave behind the stresses and complexities of her professional life in search of a more tranquil and meaningful existence. She opens a charming café where she also sells flowers, creating a cozy and inviting environment that becomes a central part of the storyline.
However, her peaceful new life is interrupted when she encounters Faruk, played by Hakan Çelebi. At first glance, Faruk seems like an ordinary man who partners with Nilüfer in her café. As the narrative develops, it is revealed that he is actually an undercover police officer on a confidential mission, setting up a relationship filled with hidden identities, unanticipated emotions, and tough decision-making.
The evolving relationship between Nilüfer and Faruk is anticipated to serve as the emotional core of the series, blending romance with suspense as Faruk juggles his duties with his increasing emotional involvement.
The supporting cast includes Yiğit Yapıcı, Yunus Narin, Gizem Denizci, and Müge Su Şahin. While specifics about their characters remain under wraps, Turkish media suggests they will play significant roles both in personal and investigative storylines.
Unlike typical television dramas, “Çiçekçi Kız” has been developed as a short-form streaming show. Episodes are expected to be approximately 15 to 20 minutes long, positioning it as one of TOD’s latest offerings for viewers seeking fast-paced digital narratives.
Production progress is swift: after the initial script reading, rehearsals are scheduled before the start of filming. Turkish media reports that principal photography is expected to continue throughout the summer, wrapping up by mid-August.
For Helin Kandemir, this project marks another leading role following her recent success on television. She has steadily gained recognition through her performances in series such as “Hakan: Muhafız” (The Protector), “Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir,” “Kağıt Ev,” “Duy Beni,” and most recently “Sevdiğim Sensin,” where she played Dicle.
Hakan Çelebi continues to expand his acting portfolio, following his notable role as Paşa in “Yeraltı.” His role in “Çiçekçi Kız” presents a new challenge, portraying a police officer leading a double life while managing a complex romantic relationship.
With a seasoned creative team led by Deniz Akçay, an engaging romantic mystery, and two talented young actors steering the main roles, “Çiçekçi Kız” is already drawing attention among Turkish TV fans ahead of its debut on TOD.
