    According to a writer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the canceled talk show has not received any backing from its former network for Emmy nomination consideration. Throughout its 11-season run, CBS’s late-night program garnered numerous nominations, including Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, but it only secured two wins. The show was awarded the titles of Best Conversational Series and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series in 2025.

    However, on June 20, show writer Felipe Torres Medina shared on Instagram that, “CBS is not doing a For Your Consideration campaign for us, so the @colbertlateshow writers decided to create our own #FYC campaign, strictly for financial reasons.”

    Despite Medina’s claims, CBS executed a full FYC campaign for the series across all relevant categories, which included television ads, digital billboards in New York and Los Angeles, and multiple email appeals to voters.

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS purchased an FYC advertisement for “The Late Show” on their website, linking to a page detailing all the writers involved.

    The voting for Emmy nominees concluded on Monday, June 22. On July 8, “The Bear” star Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller from “Widow’s Bay” are scheduled to reveal the nominations. The host for the ceremony has not yet been announced. The event will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock on September 14, 2026.

And I want to acknowledge that, but I’ll keep the speech short,” he said.

    He then lightheartedly joked that he’d “jab your eyes out with the wings right there” if anyone tried to touch his Emmy.

    Colbert also expressed gratitude to the Television Academy for voting for him, his colleagues at the show, and his fellow nominees, Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel.

    To cap off his acceptance speech, Colbert made a teasing reference to his long-time adversary, saying, “Speaking of Emmys, Donald Trump doesn’t have one.”
