Nintendo Faces Backlash Over Censorship of Dispatch on Switch 2

Fans of Dispatch were recently left feeling both confused and disappointed upon discovering that the game was heavily censored on the Nintendo Switch 2, leading to a surge of refunds and social media complaints.

Launched in late 2025, AdHoc’s game was praised for its compelling storyline, well-developed characters, and high-quality voice acting by Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad, Laura Bailey, and Erin Yvette. It also gained significant popularity for featuring popular YouTubers Cr1TiKaL and Jacksepticeye as voice talent.

According to Dexerto, despite the positive reception of Dispatch, its port for the Nintendo Switch 2 caused frustration among players. Observers quickly pointed out that the game was heavily censored on Nintendo’s latest console, with no options to disable or adjust the censorship. This included bleeps for curse words, muted audio for certain sounds, and blurred visuals for nudity and body parts.

Nintendo faces criticism for censoring Dispatch on Switch 2

“Dispatch has been censored by default on the Nintendo Switch, which includes:

    • Curse words replaced with bleeps
    • Nude scenes obscured with black bars
    • Muted sound effects in Invisigal’s dream
    • No options to disable the censorship”
      — Dexerto, January 28, 2026

A disgruntled fan shared their sentiments, saying, “This makes no sense—Nintendo has numerous Switch and Switch 2 games featuring nudity, swearing, and gore.” They compounded their point, adding, “Cyberpunk, Bayonetta, Mortal Kombat, GTA 1-3, The Walking Dead, and many Japanese ‘fan service’ titles on the eShop — what makes Dispatch any different?”

Another user on X (formerly Twitter) advised, “If you’re unhappy with the recent version of #Dispatch on the Switch, I recommend reaching out to Nintendo Support for a refund.”

Players who purchased the PC and PS5 versions of Dispatch were given the option to censor nudity, adult content, and copyrighted music, which is often advantageous for content creators and streamers.

While many blame Nintendo for the game’s censorship, a screenshot from Discord shared by an X user suggests that AdHoc may have decided independently to censor Dispatch on Nintendo platforms.

“Rumors suggest that @theAdHocStudio might be responsible for the censorship of THEIR OWN GAME on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, not Nintendo America,” wrote Smash JT.

An apparent NOA support representative implied that AdHoc made the choice to implement the censorship, which raised suspicions among the community.

  • Why Warframe Isn’t on Switch 2: Digital Extremes Lacks Dev Kit

Why Warframe Isn’t on Switch 2: Digital Extremes Lacks Dev Kit

Digital Extremes Lacks a Nintendo Switch 2 Dev Kit

There’s a clear reason why Warframe hasn’t been officially ported to the Nintendo Switch 2. Digital Extremes doesn’t have a development kit for this new console.

At TennoCon 2025 this weekend, members of the Warframe development team shared a lot of details about their projects. During a live Q&A session (as reported by IGN), CEO Steve Sinclair explained why there is no native Warframe release for the Nintendo Switch 2, even though Warframe came to the Nintendo Switch just a year after its launch.

The port of Warframe for the Nintendo Switch is playable on the Switch 2 through backwards compatibility.

Sinclair showed enthusiasm for a future Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warframe but clarified that Digital Extremes can’t create a version without a development kit. These kits are essential tools developers need to build software for specific platforms. They come with features that help developers debug and access hardware services that regular users can’t reach. Right now, Digital Extremes is waiting for a Nintendo Switch 2 development kit.

Steve Sinclair stated, “I know our programmers are just, like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait.’ We definitely have plans. When we get a dev kit, we will be doing a custom build for Warframe. Absolutely.” He acknowledged there’s a “backlog” of dev kits for the Nintendo Switch 2 but mentioned that all they need is “just one” to start working on the port.

While there’s no set date for when Digital Extremes will receive a dev kit, fans can feel confident that a native Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warframe is on the way eventually.

  • Donkey Kong Bananaza Fails to Complete One of Switch 2’s Best Features

Donkey Kong Bananaza Fails to Complete One of Switch 2’s Best Features

Before the Nintendo Switch 2 was released, many fans were eager for a more powerful console to enhance their gaming experience. Now that it’s out, Nintendo has met those expectations with improved games like Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

However, it’s surprising that Nintendo hasn’t fully utilized its console’s best features for Switch 2 games. One key feature is Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology, which several third-party developers have effectively used in their game ports. Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn’t applied this technology to its main first-party titles yet.

Donkey Kong Bananza Doesn’t Use One of the Switch 2’s Best Features

Both Mario Kart World and the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza don’t make use of the Switch 2’s DLSS technology. Instead, they use a mix of AMD’s FSR1 with SMAA. This was highlighted in a tech review by John Linneman of Digital Foundry (thanks, GamesRadar), where they noted that the image quality of Donkey Kong Bananza is “decent.” Many found the choice to use FSR1 puzzling.

Luckily, this decision doesn’t seem to have severely affected the performance of Donkey Kong Bananza, although Linneman mentions some minor issues. It remains odd that Nintendo wouldn’t want to showcase its first-party games to highlight the console’s capabilities, similar to how PlayStation titles are presented.

It’s possible that the choice stems from the long development cycle of Donkey Kong Bananza, which has been in the works for about eight years. Initially, it was planned as a title for the original Switch. Given this timeline, it makes sense that these games don’t fully take advantage of the Switch 2’s technology, and perhaps we will see DLSS in games designed explicitly for the Switch 2 in the future.

  • Completing Super Mario 3D All-Stars: New Switch 2 Update Solved!

Completing Super Mario 3D All-Stars: New Switch 2 Update Solved!

In the past month, since the release of the Switch 2, Nintendo has been updating several older games to make them work better with the new hardware. Titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario Odyssey, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have all received updates, and some players say these new versions feel like remakes.

Another game getting updates is Super Mario 3D All-Stars. This title has been a point of frustration, as Nintendo has released another patch for a game that hasn’t been available for purchase for years.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Gets The Classic Nintendo Switch 2 Update Treatment

Nintendo confirmed that, like other updates for the Switch 2, Super Mario 3D All-Stars has had “several issues addressed to improve gameplay on Nintendo Switch 2.” This vague statement doesn’t specify what changes were made, but it’s likely that some bugs were fixed in this version of the game.

The news of another update for 3D All-Stars has upset some fans. The game collection is celebrating its fifth anniversary this September, but it was only available for a short time to mark the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. This left many players unable to buy it.

On Reddit, user SliderGamer55 said, “Nintendo stopped selling this game nearly four and a half years ago. I have no idea if this update is commendable or infuriating given that fact.” Another user agreed, saying, “I don’t understand why they sold this game the way they did.”

I have no idea if this update is commendable or infuriating…

In 2025, Super Mario Bros. will celebrate its 40th anniversary, and there is hope that Nintendo might release another version of the collection, possibly including Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was left out of the first 3D All-Stars release. There are rumors that a Nintendo Direct could happen soon, which may reveal some of Nintendo’s plans for this significant anniversary.

  • Recalibrating Your Switch 2 Battery: Completing the Solution

Recalibrating Your Switch 2 Battery: Completing the Solution

The Nintendo Switch 2 offers several upgrades over the original version, including a larger display, enhanced performance, and added features like mouse support and GameChat. However, many users have noticed that the battery tends to drain more quickly than that of the original model.

If you’re facing quicker battery drain, don’t stress. It’s quite possible that the issue lies with the battery indicator, not the battery itself. Fortunately, this is a relatively easy fix, which we’ll explain further below.

    Should You Recalibrate Your Battery?

First, it’s crucial to grasp why recalibrating your battery is necessary. Generally, there’s nothing wrong with the battery itself; it’s most likely that the battery charge indicator is displaying an incorrect level.

This issue is common with Lithium-ion batteries and usually resolves itself over time. Regular use of your Switch 2 can gradually recalibrate the battery, allowing it to display the correct charge level.

Still, if you think the calibration is off, manually recalibrating your battery won’t hurt, so feel free to proceed.

How To Recalibrate Your Switch 2 Battery

    Nintendo Switch 2 Promo Art

If you wish to speed up the recalibration process rather than waiting for it to adjust on its own, you can manually recalibrate the battery by following these steps:

    1. Press and hold the power button, select Power Options, and then choose Power Off to completely turn off your Switch 2.
    2. Press and hold both the volume up and volume down buttons, then tap the power button to enter Recovery Mode.
    3. Simply booting the device into Recovery Mode should resolve the calibration issue. Press the power button once more to turn it off.
    4. Turn the device back on and check the battery indicator.

If the battery indicator shows a change, your battery has been successfully recalibrated. If there’s no change, it’s likely that it was already calibrated correctly.

If you continue to experience battery issues, it might be time to consider sending it in for repairs.

  • Completing the Transfer of System Data from Switch 1 to Switch 2

Completing the Transfer of System Data from Switch 1 to Switch 2

If you’re planning to transition from your original Nintendo Switch to the new Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll want to take advantage of its System Transfer feature to smoothly move your games and data over. Here’s some useful information to get you started.

The process is pretty straightforward, so you shouldn’t run into too many issues. That said, it’s good to be aware of potential challenges. We’ve gone through the steps, so here’s what you need to know to initiate a System Transfer to your Switch 2.

Preparing Your Switch and Switch 2 for System Transfer

Before you start, make sure both your Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are up to date with the latest firmware. You’ll also need to be logged into your Nintendo Account on both devices.

Your new Switch 2 should be ready to go right out of the box, as it automatically installs updates the first time you connect to the internet. For your original Switch, check the System Settings menu for the option ‘System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2.’ If you see it, you’re good to go; if not, you may need to perform a system update.

Important: You need to choose the System Transfer option when setting up your Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. If you miss this step, you can reset your Switch 2 to get the prompt again. Alternatively, you can convert your Switch games to Switch 2 ‘Virtual Cards’ when you re-download your games. Also, you can access cloud-saved data, but be aware that not all games support this feature, and you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Make sure both consoles are positioned close to each other, ideally side by side on a flat surface, for the best setup.

    Steps for the System Transfer

The transfer process will typically take about ten minutes, but it might take longer if your internet connection isn’t stable or if many users are transferring their data at the same time, which is common right after a new console launch.

Select the ‘System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2’ option. You’ll see a notification that your save data for specific games will be fully transferred, meaning you won’t be able to access those save files on your original Switch afterward.

And that’s it! The procedure is quite simple.

  • How to Transfer Data from Switch to Switch 2: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Transfer Data from Switch to Switch 2: A Step-by-Step Guide

When comparing the Switch 2 and the original Switch, it’s clear that Nintendo’s new console shines brightly. The Switch 2 not only performs all the functions of its predecessor but also offers enhanced mouse controls, upgraded graphics, and a plethora of upcoming titles that simply wouldn’t be feasible on the original model. As soon as you unbox your new console, you’ll be eager to jump into Mario Kart World or any of the other launch titles. However, it’s essential to transfer your data—especially if you plan on selling or gifting your old Switch. Here’s a straightforward guide on how to move your data from the Switch to the Switch 2, along with what will carry over.

Transferring Data from Switch to Switch 2

To successfully transfer your data, you’ll need both consoles, a reliable internet connection, and ensure both devices are plugged in during the process.

It’s also a good idea to have a MicroSD card handy for the Switch 2 if you intend to migrate multiple games. While the new console boasts significantly more internal storage than its predecessor, large games can quickly consume that space.

Step 1: On your original Switch, navigate to the System Settings Menu.

Step 2: Scroll down to System and select System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2.

Step 3: With your Switch 2 powered on and plugged in, download the initial system update.

Step 4: After updating, log in to your Nintendo account.

Step 5: On your original Switch, click Done.

Step 6: You will be presented with a list of all the software on your Switch that will be transferred—this process will move the data, not create a copy, to your Switch 2.

Step 7: The duration of the data transfer may vary depending on the volume of data and your internet connection speeds. However, our experience showed that transferring our account without games took around ten minutes. You can transfer all profiles, digital games, save data, screenshots, videos, and even parental controls through the system transfer.

  • Consider This Before Modding The Nintendo Switch 2

Consider This Before Modding The Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has recently revised its user agreement and privacy policy. While few individuals typically read such documents, this update carries significant implications: breaching the policy may lead to Nintendo permanently disabling your console. This latest amendment is part of Nintendo’s ongoing efforts against piracy and emulation, but it’s notable that the wording varies by region.

For residents in the United States, the policy states, “You acknowledge that if you fail to comply with the foregoing restrictions, Nintendo may render the Nintendo Account Services and/or the applicable Nintendo device permanently unusable in whole or in part.”

In contrast, as reported by Eurogamer, the clause for users in the UK and Europe mentions, “Such unauthorized use of a Digital Product may result in the Digital Product becoming unusable.”

Nintendo has not clarified the exact implications of “unusable,” but it likely suggests more severe consequences than a mere account ban. This approach is in line with Nintendo’s historically aggressive stance against piracy and modifications. The ongoing legal action involving Palworld serves as a prime example, forcing developers to alter aspects of their game that closely resemble Nintendo’s own properties.

Many critics argue that Nintendo’s strict measures hinder game preservation, while the company maintains that these actions are crucial for safeguarding its interests.

In conjunction with updates to its user agreement, Nintendo has also revised its privacy policy ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. A key point addresses the new Game Chat feature, stating: “Communication content related to specific features, such as video and voice chats, may be recorded and stored for up to 24 hours on the user devices of all participants in a chat. This allows users to report potentially inappropriate interactions that may violate relevant laws and/or the Nintendo Code of Conduct.”

This policy enables Nintendo to take measures against players who breach guidelines. While the Switch 2 comes equipped with a built-in microphone, the camera accessory remains optional. The updated policy has raised privacy concerns, especially given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is aimed at family audiences; however, Nintendo asserts that the recordings are intended to foster a “safe and family-friendly online environment.”

  • Elden Ring Switch 2 Version Adds Exciting New Content

Elden Ring Switch 2 Version Adds Exciting New Content

Prepare for another adventure in the Lands Between! The Switch 2 version of Elden Ring is set to introduce two exciting new character classes: the Knights of Ides and the Heavy Knight. This announcement came during the FromSoftware Games Event held today in Tokyo. Additionally, players will finally have the option to customize the appearance of their mounts, a feature that had been limited to mods previously.

While specifics about the gameplay mechanics of these new classes were kept under wraps, FromSoftware indicated that these additions will provide players with even more choices and gameplay styles. Based on past experiences with similar titles, we can hypothesize that the Heavy Knight will focus on defense but may be slower, while the abilities of the Knight of Ides remain a mystery.

Players can also look forward to discovering four new sets of armor and weapons scattered throughout the world, along with an assortment of new combat skills.

If you’re not ready to purchase another version of Elden Ring, don’t worry! All the content announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 will also be accessible on other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected that the Tarnished Pack will coincide with the launch of the Switch 2 version.

When Elden Ring debuts on the Nintendo Switch 2, it will also feature the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This version promises to be an excellent entry point for new players, packed with additional content that will likely boost Elden Ring’s already impressive sales figures.

Unfortunately, it appears that Switch 2 players will not have access to Elden Ring: Nightreign. There are no current plans for this multiplayer-focused title to be released on Nintendo’s latest console, though players on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC will be able to experience it starting May 20, 2025.

  • Switch 2 Still Faces Original’s Biggest Annoyance

Switch 2 Still Faces Original’s Biggest Annoyance

Nintendo has officially announced that the upcoming Switch 2 will not feature Hall Effect sensors in its Joy-Con controllers, which leaves the issue of stick drift still unresolved. Instead, the console will incorporate redesigned analog-style sticks that aim to tackle one of the most significant complaints surrounding the original Nintendo Switch.

Nate Bihldorff, Senior Vice President of Product Development & Publishing at Nintendo of America, shared insights about the new console in an interview with Nintendo Life. He stated, “The Joy-Con 2’s controllers have been meticulously designed from the ground up. While they aren’t using Hall Effect technology, they offer a really satisfying feel.”

For context, Hall Effect sticks function through magnetic fields, eliminating the physical wear that traditional potentiometers encounter, making them less prone to issues like stick drift. As the potentiometer ages, it starts providing inaccurate readings, leading to problems such as delayed input and drift.

Bihldorff emphasized the commitment Nintendo has to quality in their hardware. “Every time we release new hardware or accessories, we focus on delivering the best possible experience for our users. This includes not only how the Joy-Cons feel during gameplay but also their longevity. We take what we’ve learned and improve the design.”

He also noted that the Switch 2’s Pro Controller has a distinct feel, inspired by the classic GameCube controller. Bihldorff mentioned, “I loved the GameCube controller. Its comfort was familiar, especially the analog stick. I made it a priority to keep it quiet during intense gameplay. [The Switch 2 Pro Controller] is one of the quietest controllers I’ve ever used.”

While many specifics about the new Joy-Con technology remain undisclosed, representatives from Nintendo have reassured fans that more attention has been paid to the performance of the control sticks this time. In a recent developer Q&A, Nintendo producer Kouichi Kawamoto explained, “We started from scratch with Joy-Con 2. The control sticks are designed to be larger, more durable, and smoother in movement.”

The company hopes that the enhanced durability will address the stick drift issue. It’s important to note that Nintendo isn’t the only brand that has faced concerns over faulty analog sticks; rival products like the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller have also received complaints. Nevertheless, the Switch 2 is hopeful to learn from its predecessor’s shortcomings, aiming to provide gamers with a seamless control experience.

  • Switch 2 Supports Ray-Tracing And DLSS But Details Are Scarce

Switch 2 Supports Ray-Tracing And DLSS But Details Are Scarce

After the unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2 yesterday, Nintendo hosted a series of roundtable Q&A sessions in New York City, addressing fans’ questions about the new console. During these discussions, the company confirmed that the Switch 2 leverages Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and ray tracing technology, although they did not disclose specific details about its operation.

Earlier leaks had hinted that Nintendo would adopt some form of AI-driven upscaling technology—precisely what DLSS offers—to keep game sizes manageable enough for cartridges without compromising on 4K resolution. The integration of DLSS, which is a product of Nvidia, was confirmed along with the use of an Nvidia GPU in the Switch 2. Tetsuya Sasaki, General Manager of Nintendo’s Technology Development Division, remarked, “Nintendo typically doesn’t disclose extensive hardware specifications. We prefer to concentrate on the value we can provide to our customers. However, I believe our partner Nvidia will be sharing more information.”

The use of DLSS could significantly expand possibilities for developers. Much like the abilities available on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, there’s potential for games to feature both graphical fidelity and performance modes. Senior Director of the Programming Management Group, Takuhiro Dohta, stated, “We utilize DLSS upscaling technology, a necessity in our game development process.”

He elaborated that the hardware can output up to 4K resolution on TVs. “Whether a developer opts for native resolution or upscaling is their choice, but it certainly creates numerous options,” he noted. When questioned about ray tracing capabilities, Dohta confirmed that the GPU supports this technology, providing yet another tool for developers.

While Nintendo has shared a considerable amount of information, many specifics remain under wraps. It appears we may have to wait for an actual Switch 2 console to investigate internal components fully. Nevertheless, the confirmation of advanced graphic technologies like ray tracing and DLSS indicates a notable upgrade in power and suggests Nintendo could be narrowing the graphical gap with its competitors.

After much anticipation fueled by leaked information, Nintendo has officially announced its upcoming console: the Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement came through a concise two-minute video released this morning, which shed light on the successor’s hardware features. Those who have been following recent leaks, particularly from CES 2025, will find the revealed details align closely with prior speculations regarding the console’s design.

Just like the original model, the Switch 2 acts as a handheld console that can be connected to a television through a newly designed dock with smoother edges. It introduces a revamped kickstand for tabletop gaming, resembling the flexibility found in the Nintendo Switch OLED model.

    Nintendo Switch 2 – First-look trailer

The overall design stays almost identical to that of the original Switch. It maintains detachable Joy-Con controllers featuring the same basic button arrangement. However, the main update is how they attach to the central display via magnetic rails, making them easy to detach with release buttons located near each controller’s triggers.

The new controllers bring added functionality as well. A demonstration showed the controllers gliding over a flat surface, suggesting that they come equipped with an optical sensor, enabling users to utilize them like a computer mouse. Additionally, the right Joy-Con features a new button situated beneath the Home button, though Nintendo has yet to disclose its function.

The Switch 2 will support backward compatibility with both physical and digital Nintendo Switch titles; however, some games may not fully work on the new console. While the focus of the presentation was primarily on the hardware, a brief clip showcasing what seems to be Mario Kart 9 was also included.

Although no specific release date or pricing information was provided, it appears that the Switch 2 won’t launch imminently, with Nintendo hinting at a timeframe of “20205.” A Nintendo Direct presentation is scheduled for April 2, where more information about the console and its game lineup will be shared. A new website has also been launched to showcase the system.

  • Halo And Microsoft Flight Sim May Arrive On PS5 And Switch 2

Halo And Microsoft Flight Sim May Arrive On PS5 And Switch 2

Good morning, everyone! We’ve got some buzzing rumors to dive into today. As excitement builds for the upcoming announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, podcaster NateTheHate has suggested that both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could make their way to the Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. While Nate has proven accurate on several occasions regarding future titles, it’s wise to approach this news with a healthy dose of skepticism. The prospect of Xbox titles appearing on the Switch 2 seems a bit improbable, particularly since we’re still in the dark about the console’s specifications.

That said, the Switch 2 may not require powerful hardware to run these titles. In February 2024, Xbox announced its plans to expand its game offerings to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo platforms, including titles like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded. This raises the possibility that the Nintendo Switch 2 could utilize cloud gaming technology, allowing players to access demanding games via streaming instead of relying solely on the console’s hardware. Given the high-performance requirements of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, streaming could be the practical solution for playing these titles on Nintendo’s handheld device.

Of course, not every expectation has come to fruition. For instance, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was released as an exclusive for Xbox amidst speculation that it would also debut on PlayStation 5. Microsoft’s shifting strategies seem to be transforming the company from a hardware manufacturer into more of a publisher model. Fans and analysts are left questioning whether Xbox will persist as a traditional console or pivot to a cloud gaming platform akin to Nvidia’s GeForce Now.

Master Chief holding a gun and a flaming grenade with a city behind him.
    Xbox Game Studios

If Microsoft decides to launch these games on Nintendo and PlayStation systems, it will certainly enhance player experience and broaden access to these significant titles. The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to support backwards compatibility with existing Switch games, though it remains uncertain if this will involve physical cartridges or if it will strictly be digital. With several consoles taking a digital-first approach, there’s a chance that the next Xbox console—and potentially the Nintendo Switch 2—may emerge as entirely streaming-oriented devices, foregoing traditional disc drives or cartridge slots.

Best Look Yet At The Nintendo Switch 2 Emerges

For quite some time, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sparked considerable buzz among fans eager for the latest updates. Various leaks have surfaced, each met with varying degrees of credibility. Over this past weekend, two significant leaks caught attention: one from Reddit and the other from accessory maker Dbrand.

Reddit user u/NextHandheld shared a post titled “I’ve come from the future,” claiming to possess details about the finalized version of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accompanying dock. They promised to provide proof on Christmas Day, but subreddit moderators required verification, warning of account deletion if no evidence was presented. Thankfully, it seems u/NextHandheld met the requirements, as the moderators deemed the proof credible enough to allow the post to remain up.

The second leak originated from Dbrand’s accessory listings, which appears to have been somewhat intentional. You can view the announcement on X below.

Dbrand informed Insider Gaming that the device showcased inside their case is indeed the Nintendo Switch 2. The brand, recognized for its cheeky approach, also provided a link to their product page. The page features a spinning animation of the console, which closely resembles prior leaks regarding the Switch 2’s design.

In addition, another Reddit thread by u/stardew92 included images that align with the latest leak, showcasing a design that matches the curved aesthetic noted in other purported Switch 2 leaks.

A look at the Nintendo Switch 2.
    Reddit

Referring back to the initial Reddit post by u/NextHandheld, they addressed several inquiries. While moderators have confirmed the validity of the evidence, it’s advisable to maintain a skeptical perspective—however, the details shared so far are the most compelling we’ve encountered yet.

The reported features of the Nintendo Switch 2 include a curved dock and Joy-Cons, while retaining the basic structure of the original dock. It reportedly has two USB-A ports on the side, along with USB-C, HDMI, and Ethernet connections inside. An additional button marked “C” beside the Home button has sparked speculation among users, with guesses ranging from camera controls to a Cast function that could let the Switch 2 function similarly to a Wii U gamepad.

As for when we might get an official announcement, u/NextHandheld mentioned that they’ve heard a Nintendo meeting is set for January, but this information remains unconfirmed.

As always with early leaks, approach the information with caution—however, the evidence presented thus far appears substantial, so it’s perfectly fine to feel a spark of excitement.

The long-awaited unveiling of the next generation Nintendo Switch has yet to occur, despite fans diligently searching for any clues. Recently, however, a quickly removed video from accessory maker Satisfye may have provided an early, albeit blurry, glimpse of what the new console could look like.

The information surfaced on X when @1DaP_PaD1 (DP19) revealed that Satisfye had uploaded a trailer for their Zengrip 2 accessory but promptly removed it upon realizing an error. While the trailer has been taken down, screenshots suggest that the upcoming Nintendo console bears a striking resemblance to the existing Switch model.

    — DP19 (@1DaP_PaD1) December 10, 2024

Some observant fans have reported noticing an “extra button” on the Joy-Cons, aligning with previous leaks. However, the details remain unclear due to the considerable blurriness of the image. With Nintendo being tight-lipped about its upcoming console, it’s difficult to ascertain any specifics about its design. Moreover, this image is said to have been taken while using a third-party accessory, further obscuring the details.

Satisfye’s website lists the ZenGrip 2 with an announcement to “expect shipping in Spring 2025.” This doesn’t guarantee that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch at the same time, but we can anticipate an official announcement by the end of Nintendo’s current fiscal year, which concludes in March 2025. Historically, Nintendo has kept a close lid on hardware details, yet the buzz surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 continues to mount, with fans eager for more information.
