The investigation by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office involves 25 individuals suspected of facilitating, using, or being involved in drug trafficking and manufacturing activities.
Notable figures including Mabel Matiz, Serenay Sarıkaya, and Berkay Şahin are among the suspects.
OFFICE STATEMENT FROM THE BAKIRKÖY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
The office released the following statement:
“As part of our efforts against narcotics that endanger public health and safety, recent operations led by the Bakırköy Public Prosecutor’s Office have confiscated large quantities of cocaine attempting to be smuggled by sea into our country, identified drug production sites, and arrested numerous traffickers across various districts of Istanbul. Seized narcotics and related items have been secured.”
In a separate investigation concerning those involved in facilitating, harboring, or using narcotics, as well as traffickers, the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie was ordered to detain, search, take biological samples, and question 25 suspects on May 21, 2026. The instructions for apprehension have been issued.
