How To Complete The Gear Puzzle In Outbound

In Outbound, your mission involves exploring different landmarks on the map. One notable site is a large windmill. When you arrive, you’ll see that it isn’t working. To get it running again, you need to solve a gear puzzle.

Solving the gear puzzle unlocks the Round ‘N Round Achievement or Trophy. It also lets you access the windmill’s terminal, where you can find a new blueprint. Here’s how to complete the gear puzzle step-by-step.

    Gather Scrap Metal First
Before heading to the windmill, make sure to collect at least 20 pieces of scrap metal. These are mostly found around signal towers, so explore those areas thoroughly.

Reaching the Top of the Windmill
When you go inside the windmill, you’ll see a door on the ground floor with a red light above it. Ignore that door for now and climb the stairs. Once at the top, you’ll find two levers. Use these to turn the wooden platform above you.

The platform is divided into three sections: one with boxes, one with shelves, and one with a ladder. Turn the platform until the section with boxes is directly above the two levers.

    Climb and Adjust the Ladder
Climb the ladder you find there. At the top, you’ll see a green switch on the wall. Flip this switch to make a new ladder drop down. Sometimes, this ladder will appear behind the shelves, so go back down and pull the lever to clear the way.

    Fixing the Windmill’s Gear
Once you’re back up, head toward the large broken cogwheel. Use your scrap metal to repair it. This is essential for the windmill to work.

    Activating the Windmill
Next, locate the brake lever on the wall near the gear. When the gear is fixed, pull the lever to activate the windmill. This completes the gear puzzle and gets everything turning again.

  • How to Complete the Grey Forest Puzzle in Crimson Desert

How to Complete the Grey Forest Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert’s vast open world is filled with hidden secrets and puzzles to discover. From intricate floating islands in the Abyss to unlocking towering spires in each main area, you’ll spend plenty of time solving these challenges.

One of the most common puzzles involves the Ancient Ruins, which appear throughout every part of the game. The Grey Forest is one such location, and it can be tricky if you don’t know what to look for or if you don’t carefully examine the area. Here’s how to solve the Grey Forest Ancient Ruins puzzle and what rewards you for your effort.

Location of The Grey Forest Ancient Ruins
To find this puzzle, head southeast to the Delesyia region. The ruins are north of the “Grey Forest” label on your map, near a triple crossroads. You’ll spot a large forest clearing with a massive sundial-like structure on the ground, surrounded by statues.

    Solving The Grey Forest Puzzle
When you arrive at the puzzle site, you’ll see a memory image of someone moving the large arrow-shaped dial on the ground. A yellow laser beam will shoot out and hit a statue nearby. The clock face on the ground displays various symbols instead of numbers, each relating to a specific statue or what the statue holds. The part of each statue that is gold indicates its connection to a symbol.

Before starting, walk around the edge of the clock face and use your powers to lift and clear away any pillars hiding the symbols.
Begin your puzzle by following the laser to the statue it hits. For example, if it strikes a figure holding a golden Vase, you need to turn the dial so the large lower square is over the Vase symbol. You do this by stabbing the podium with your sword and rotating the dial right or left.

Once the dial is over the correct symbol, release your sword. This will cause the symbols to glow and a new set of symbols to appear along with three lasers shooting out to hit three different statues. The symbols will shuffle around. Your goal is to align both the bottom square and the two medium-sized ones above it so they cover the correct symbols simultaneously.

Next, follow the laser to identify which objects each laser hits and adjust the dial accordingly. For example, if the laser hits a statue holding a golden Vase, move the dial so the Vase symbol is under the main square. Use your sword stabbed into the podium to rotate the dial until the symbols align with the lasers’ targets.

For the specific puzzle at Grey Forest, your symbols include two Harps, two Scales, one Vase, and one Horse. These symbols are located to the left of the dial after the second step. Adjust the dial so the three open squares cover these symbols correctly. The aligned view can be checked against a reference image, where the symbols are positioned properly when the squares are over the Harp, Scale, Vase, and Horse.

Once aligned, the symbols will glow again, and a small door at the base of the central statue will open, revealing an Artifact podium. Approach and interact with it to collect your reward and conclude the puzzle.

  • How to Complete the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains in Crimson Desert

How to Complete the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert features numerous puzzles scattered across its expansive world. From the complex Abyss island challenges to the various spire-locking tasks, players will encounter plenty of mind teasers in this action-adventure game.

Many of these puzzles are found in ancient ruins and crypts located throughout each region. One such puzzle is the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains, which can be found in Demeniss. Here’s where to locate it, how to solve it, and what rewards to expect.

Location of the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains

To find this puzzle, go to the Demeniss region in the east. North of the Wheelsmith Wainwright, locate a large barricaded fence and search for ruins that are overgrown with plants and vines. This isn’t the area marked with a question mark on the map but is just east of that point, a few meters away.

Approach the ruins and use your Blinding Flash ability (Left Bumper + Right Bumper) to burn away the vines until you can reach the stairs leading into the crypt below. Be cautious, as groups of mushroom enemies will rush you if you get too close. If they do, step back and use fire-based attacks to scare them off.

How to Complete the Secret Chamber Puzzle

Descend the stairs, equip your lantern, and stop once you reach the bottom. Two flame jet traps will activate, which you can dodge by crouch-walking underneath the fire. Even if you get hit, these traps deal minimal damage. Be careful in the next room because the middle of the floor gives way, revealing a spike pit. Falling into it will kill you instantly.

Enter through the door into a chamber with three connected rooms. The rooms on your right and straight ahead are empty and can be ignored. There’s also a mural of Demeniss marked with several locations. If you want to do the puzzle step-by-step, mark these spots on your map and visit them to find symbols for each one — though this isn’t necessary to complete the puzzle.

Proceed up the stairs on the left, where a zipline is located. Use it to reach the door below, carefully avoiding the spike pit again, as falling will likely kill you.

In the next room, look to your left. You’ll see a wall with three columns of nine symbols protruding from it. Your goal is to press the correct symbols, which you do by climbing onto the mural, holding the Left Trigger to latch onto it, and then performing a Force Palm strike over the selected symbol.

Doing so will press the button in, allowing you to move on to the next symbol. The order in which you activate the symbols doesn’t matter. The correct symbols to press are:

    • Grape — Top symbol in the first column
    • Pomegranate — Middle symbol in the second column
    • Horse — Top symbol in the third column
    • Bird — Middle symbol in the third column
    • Fish — Bottom symbol in the third column

Once all the correct symbols are pressed, the wall will lower, revealing an Abyss Artifact pedestal. There is also a lever nearby to open a passage back outside, but first, explore a small room in the back right corner of this chamber.

    Treasure Room Access

In that small hidden room, you’ll find a door leading to a treasure chamber. Quick movement through this door is needed to avoid a spike trap on the floor. Inside, you’ll see piles of copper, crude gold bars, a Bekker Shield, assorted vases for selling, silk, and fabric. When you’ve gathered enough, pull the lever you previously activated to open the passage back to the surface and exit the crypt.

  • Completing the Golden Plains Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Completing the Golden Plains Puzzle in Crimson Desert

The Crimson Desert offers many hidden items such as collectibles, weapons, armor pieces, secret bosses, side quests, and puzzles. If you mainly stick to the main storyline and avoid exploring the large regions, you might miss a lot of this content.

One puzzle located in the Golden Plains is easy to overlook, and it can be tricky if you don’t know what to look for. Here’s everything you need to know to solve the Golden Plains puzzle in Crimson Desert, plus what rewards you’ll get.

    ### Golden Plains Puzzle Solution

To find this puzzle, head north of the Western Court and west of Honeywood Apiary in the Demeniss region. Among the trees, you’ll see a big stone ruin with four statues facing a central platform. When you arrive, these statues will be facing different directions and will move if you interact with them.

Your goal is to make all four statues face the central platform again. Moving one statue can cause others to move too, so you need to follow a certain order to get all of them pointing toward the middle. Before you start moving the statues, you need to free one from vines.

Look toward the broken wall and use your Blinding Flash ability by pressing both the Left and Right Bumpers simultaneously. Focus the light by pressing the Left Bumper again and aim the beam at the vines. After a few seconds, the vines will catch fire and burn away, revealing a hidden statue. You can also use any flame-based ability to light the vines if you prefer.

Once the hidden statue is revealed, you can continue with the puzzle.

With all four statues visible, we can begin. For clarity, let’s label them as Statue 1, 2, 3, and 4, starting with the one opposite the vine-free statue from earlier.

Start with Statue 4. Approach the back of the statue and interact. Turn the statue until its arrow at the base and the front face the central platform.

Next, go to Statue 3 and rotate until Statue 2 faces the middle platform. This step can be challenging, so adjust your camera to see Statue 2 clearly while moving Statue 3. Releasing the movement and checking the position can help if you’re unsure.

Finally, move Statue 1 and turn it left until both it and Statue 3 face the middle platform. When these two statues are aligned correctly, the platform will begin to shake and transform into a small altar containing an Abyss Artifact. This also creates a fast travel point for easy return to this location.

  • How To Complete The Precipice Of Truth Abyss Puzzle In Crimson Desert

How To Complete The Precipice Of Truth Abyss Puzzle In Crimson Desert

The Precipice of Truth Abyss is located just beyond the Roots of Truth puzzle in Crimson Desert. These two share a crucial relationship: every hazard presented by the puzzles becomes a tool you can use once understood. However, most players tend to spend extra time figuring out what each challenge is truly asking for.

Here’s a complete walkthrough of the Precipice of Truth Abyss puzzle, from the moving platforms at the entrance to collecting the Abyss Artifact at the top.

Getting to the Precipice of Truth Abyss

After finishing the Roots End Abyss puzzle, head toward the Precipice of Truth by passing through the sky gate. Connect your Axiom Force to the pillar and manipulate the levels until a new pathway appears—raising a series of floating platforms on your right.

Your goal is the green-topped platform with three trees at the top, one of which is hidden from a distance. To reach it, you can take the slow route via a shifting platform that gets closer. Alternatively, if your stamina allows, you can jump and glide across the L-shaped series of smaller platforms midway.

Once aligned, ride the final square block until you’re close enough to leap over to the three-treed platform. From there, use the teleport to move into the Precipice of Truth section within the Abyss.

Next, follow the stone pillar-laden path to enter a cave opening. At the top, avoid a laser-shooting enemy by climbing the cliff on the right. Head east after reaching the top, leading to the Abyss Nexus, which triggers the start of the Precipice of Truth Abyss puzzle.

    Solving the Abyss Puzzle

The puzzle is divided into three similar stages, each involving destroying a laser-shooting enemy with Axiom Force, carrying a power core to activate a pedestal, and retrieving a power block from the room that opens.

To progress, lock each power block into its wall slot using Force Palm. This activates a fan that carries you to the next stage. Completing all three stages reveals the path to activate the final restoration button.

    • Stage One: From the Abyss Nexus, turn back west toward the spot where the red laser was firing. There, a small grey ball sits; use Axiom Force on it to transform it into an electric cube. Pick it up and carry it to the right side of the nexus, placing it on the block next to a slot with a power crystal. Use Force Palm to lock it in and activate the first fan. Jump into it to ascend to the next level.

    • Stage Two: Fly toward the platform with grey wires. Stay in flight mode as you land and ascend, passing a second laser pillar to the south. Reach a cube that you can destroy with Axiom Force, revealing another cube. Keep climbing to land on a small grey platform above. Ride this platform upward, then use Force Force on the cube to bring it to the next level. Carry the power crystal across and place it in the hole with a matching crystal. Use Force Palm to lock crystals into their slots, activating the second fan. Glide into it to reach the third stage.

    • Stage Three: Proceed further into the left of the room, slightly upward. There, you’ll confront a final laser-shooting enemy. Defeat it, then descend to an area with a flat power block. Use Force Palm to press it into the wall slot above, which activates the last fan.

    Completing the Puzzle

Set the final power block into place to activate the fans in the center and below. This unlocks the large area’s power, bringing the Abyss restoration button into reach.

Glide down into the central fan flow and ride it to the top, where the restoration button awaits. Brace yourself against the surface and use Force Palm to press the button, triggering the Abyss restoration sequence. Be sure to brace (L2) before using Force Palm to prevent flinging yourself off the wall.

Once the Abyss is restored, the Abyss Artifact appears on the wall overhead. Climb up, collect the artifact, and the Precipice of Truth Abyss puzzle is complete. Doing so unlocks fast-travel teleportation to this location and grants you the Diving Palm skill for Kliff’s moveset.

  • How to Complete The Roots of Truth Puzzle in Crimson Desert

How to Complete The Roots of Truth Puzzle in Crimson Desert

To survive in the dangerous world of Crimson Desert, you need to collect Abyss Artifacts to upgrade your gear and boost Kliff’s abilities. The easiest way to get these artifacts is by completing floating island puzzles in the Abyss.

One such puzzle is called Roots of Truth. You can access it after finishing the Spire of Insight in southern Hernand. Here’s how to complete the Roots of Truth puzzle and get an Abyss Artifact.

    Roots of Truth Puzzle Solution

When you arrive at the island, activate the Abyss Gate and go to the bottom of the waterfall. Use your weapon to perform a stabbing attack to break through the water and get to the other side. Follow the staircase and floating platforms upward until you reach a zone with a big fan and two moving laser beams.

Perform a double jump and glide over the fan and lasers to reach the other side. Continue up the stairs until you see a large circular grate. Climb onto it, hold onto it with the Left Trigger, and use a Force Palm strike. This will make the grate spin with you on it. Avoid the laser beam, as contact will damage you and cause you to fall.

Next, climb onto the next circular grate and wait for the laser to go above you. Then, flip back inside the tower and repeat this process of climbing using the rotating grates, moving upward. Eventually, you’ll arrive in a room with a square Abyss Core inside. Use your Axiom Force to grab the core and rotate it horizontally.

Tip: If your stamina isn’t quite maxed out, bring some Honey Tea. There’s no safe way to stand still and recover stamina while climbing this long wall of circular grates.

Carefully slide the Abyss Core into the matching horizontal hole above you. Once in place, grab onto the grate where the lasers pass and spin yourself to the outside again. Climb up the floating platforms and look for a slit in the floor that looks into the room you just left. It’s right next to the large tree.

Grab the Abyss Core through the hole in the floor and rotate it so it can fit into the open space. After removing it from the small room, place it into the square receptacle behind you to activate one of the spinning fans.

Next, look downward at the spinning fan and go left to the large tree branch shown above. Land on the branch and find a hole in the wall containing another square Abyss Core. Hang onto the ledge or float in the air to grab it, then guide the core up to the spinning fan’s location and fit it into the slot opposite where the previous Abyss Core was placed.

Warning: Be extremely careful when moving the Abyss Core upward. The organic shape of the branches makes it easy to slip and fall off. If you fall, you can try to use Axiom Force to pull yourself back up. Falling to the ground means you’ll have to restart the puzzle.

Once both fans are powered and the large circular switch above is active, follow the tree branches to the right, descending carefully to the top. Climb down to the circular switch and strike it with Force to finish the Roots of Truth puzzle. Return to the altar at the top to earn an Abyss Artifact as your reward.

You can keep exploring these islands by passing through the triangular gate behind the Abyss Altar.

  • How to Complete the Monolith Crown in Crimson Desert

How to Complete the Monolith Crown in Crimson Desert

To survive the treacherous open world of Crimson Desert, you need to collect Abyss Artifacts that enhance Kliff’s abilities. While battling enemies and completing quests will earn you some artifacts, a more efficient method is solving Abyss puzzles scattered across different sky islands.

One such puzzle is the Monolith Crown, accessible after defeating the Crowcaller boss and completing Chapter 5. This puzzle is among the most challenging you’ll encounter. Here’s a step-by-step guide to solving it and earning an Abyss Artifact with ease.

    Monolith Crown Solution

You can only access this puzzle after conquering the Crowcaller. Doing so unlocks a triangular gate at the back right corner of the island entrance, leading to this area. Once there, cross the floating debris to reach the Abyss Gate. Use the fast travel point nearby, then enter the large room with a floating cube at its center.

Ignore the cube initially and head toward the large altar, where the Abyss Artifact will appear once the puzzle is solved. From the altar, look left to see two floating platforms just below the main island. Jump onto the platform illuminated by a spotlight on the wall. Turn around and look back at the altar.

You’ll notice a floating yellow switch that can be attached to your Axiom Force power. Connecting to this switch will change your camera view to focus on the cube, allowing you to rotate and move it. Your goal is to align the laser beams emitted from the cube to hit various yellow switches positioned around it.

This task is simpler than it appears if you follow a specific sequence of rotations. You can rotate both the camera and the cube freely; however, some steps require rotating the camera first to direct the laser beams correctly before rotating the cube.

Starting Point: When you gain control, position the camera as needed. Moving the cube left or right is done by pressing left or right on the D-Pad, and rotating it up or down is done with the up/down on the D-Pad. Camera rotations are controlled via the right stick.

Input Sequence to Solve the Puzzle:

    1. Rotate the cube to the right
    2. Rotate the cube to the right again
    3. Rotate the cube upwards
    4. Turn the camera right so it faces the cube’s right side
    5. Rotate the cube upwards
    6. Turn the camera left so it faces the starting side
    7. Rotate the cube upwards once more
    8. Turn the camera right again to the cube’s right side
    9. Rotate the cube upwards
    10. Turn the camera left to return to the original view
    11. Rotate the cube left

Following this sequence correctly aligns the laser beams with all the yellow switches, turning them blue and activating the circular switch on the floor. When the lasers are aligned, the circular switch turns blue.

Final Step: Disengage from the controls and return to the main island. Approach the large circular switch on the ground, crouch, and perform a Force Palm strike to slam it down. This action completes the Monolith Crown puzzle, spawning an Abyss Artifact at the altar. You can then pass through the triangular gate to continue your journey through the Crescent Skybridge.

How to Complete the Steel Mountains Bell Puzzle in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, there are many fast travel spots scattered across Pywel. Some of these locations can only be unlocked by completing a small puzzle, which also grants you an Abyss Cresset along with the travel point. One of the earliest and most rewarding puzzles is found in the Steel Mountains.

Here’s how to locate the Steel Mountain Ruins puzzle, how to solve it, and what rewards you’ll get for your efforts.

How to find the Steel Mountain Ruins

First, go to the mountainous region just northwest of the Spire of Insight. The Spire is slightly northwest of the area marked “Steel Mountains” on your map.

As you journey northwest, you’ll come across a small outdoor workshop set up on the edge of a mountain wall. Nearby, you’ll see a group of eight bells and some papers posted on a board.

How to solve the Steel Mountain Ruins Bell Puzzle

To solve this puzzle, focus on the pages with symbols written on them. These symbols match those above the bells in the area.

For simplicity, we’ve numbered the bells from one through eight, starting at the top left corner and moving down in a snake pattern.

To unlock the nearby stone wall, ring the bells in this specific order: 1-2-3-4-5-6-4-3-2-1.

You can activate the bells by either hitting them with a mallet or shooting them with arrows.

Once you ring the bells correctly, the stone wall will open, revealing a platform with an Abyss Cresset and a new fast travel point. You can now teleport back here anytime, making it a very useful spot for other quests in this area.

  • How to Complete the Stellan Manor Puzzle in Crimson Desert

How to Complete the Stellan Manor Puzzle in Crimson Desert

If you want to survive in the tough world of Crimson Desert, you’ll need to explore off the main route to find gear that can boost Kliff’s abilities. From elemental powers to jewelry and weapons, there’s a variety of items you can gather to increase your chances in battles.

For those seeking a great one-handed sword, the Acria Sword can be obtained fairly early in Crimson Desert if you’re willing to ride your horse to get it. Here’s what you need to know about where to find this weapon and how to solve the Stellen Manor puzzle.

Where to Find the Acria Sword

To find the Acria sword, head northeast of Hernand’s main city toward Stellen Manor, which is also northeast of Drakesfall Gorge. This location is along a riverbank and about a 15-minute ride from Hernand’s city. The journey is mostly smooth, with little resistance.

When you arrive at Stellen Manor, you’ll need to break inside because guards will try to push you away at the front entrance. These guards are blind, so you can climb the wall, open a window, or enter through another opening without being stopped.

    Stellen Manor Puzzle Solution

After climbing through the second-story window, look for the dining room across from the main staircase. Inside, find a strongbox along the wall near the machine. Interact with the gear on the side of the device to play a musical tune.

To unlock the strongbox, you need to replicate this tune on the keys. Don’t worry about the top row of keys; you only need to use the bottom row’s four keys, numbered from left to right as 1, 2, 3, and 4. The sequence to press is: 1, 3, 4, 2, 1, 3, 4.

If you make a mistake and the tune bugs out, you can fix it by fast traveling to an Abyss Gate to reset the puzzle. There’s one just south of the manor that you can unlock before entering.

Once the correct sequence is played, the strongbox opens. Use a mask to steal the key inside. Take that key to the master bedroom on the second floor and open the wardrobe on the left. Inside, you’ll find a wheel that you can interact with to lower a table filled with torture devices.

On the table, there’s a book you can pick up, though you can’t read it. Using your lantern, you’ll notice blue-glowing bloodstains nearby. Head down to the first floor and locate a bookshelf on a wall opposite the stairs. Approach the shelf and examine the top right corner for a slot where you can put the book.

Placing the book in the slot will unlock the bookshelf, revealing a secret door. Follow this hidden passage to the basement torture room, where the Acria Sword is displayed on a holder in the top left corner.

    About the Acria Sword

The Acria Sword features three Abyss Gear slots, starts at Refinement Level 4, and has 19 Attack. It also comes with a default Critical Rate Level 1, even without adding Abyss Gears, which makes it better than many early-game swords, most of which only increase Critical Rate through gear modifications.

  • How to Complete the Chaos Garden Puzzle in Crimson Desert

How to Complete the Chaos Garden Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert features many puzzles that you need to solve to improve your character’s weapons and skills. Some are hidden in the open world, and others are located on floating islands in the sky.

One of the early Abyss puzzles you’ll come across is after finishing the Spire of Insight. It’s called the “Chaos Forest.” Here’s how to solve it and what rewards you get.

    Chaos Forest Puzzle Solution

When you reach the Chaos Forest, head straight to the large stone door in front of you and use the Nature’s Grasp ability to lift it open. Walk onto the main island, but watch your step — thorn bushes are everywhere. If you have the Flame Strike ability, use it on the thorn bushes to the right and around the big water pool to burn them away.

If you don’t have Flame Strike, you can use your Blinding Flash ability. Hold down the Left Bumper and Right Bumper, then release the Left Bumper to send a beam of sunlight at the thorns. After a few moments, the thorns will catch fire and burn away.

Once the thorns are gone, look down to the lower platform on your right. There, you’ll find an Abyss Core on fire. Use Axiom Force to grab it, then carefully carry it to the nearby pool of water. Dunk it in to cool it down, then place it into the slot you revealed when the thorns were burned away. Use Force Palm to slot it in and restore power.

After that, jump across the gap to the other side. Once across, turn left into the side room and burn away the two sets of thorns again. Head toward the area where the large bunch of thorns once was, and find another section you can lift with Nature’s Grasp. Lift the barrier open to find a second Abyss Core. Place this in the slot inside the small room. Then, grab one of the column pieces lying on the ground.

Pick up a column piece and carry it over to the door you entered through. Lift the door using Nature’s Grasp again, and place the column under where the door would fall. This setup keeps the power connection from the room to the switch outside intact. It only takes one upright column to ensure the door stays open enough for the connection to work.

Head back to the switch and hit it with Force Palm to activate the puzzle and finish the Chaos Forest. Afterward, climb up to the platform above to grab an Abyss Artifact near the altar. You can continue exploring by heading right from this spot toward the triangular gate. There, you’ll find a podium you can activate with Axiom Force to create platforms that lead to the next main Abyss puzzle.

  • How to Solve Every Spire of Insight Puzzle in Crimson Desert

How to Solve Every Spire of Insight Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Missing many hidden secrets and locations in Crimson Desert is common if you’re not thoroughly exploring the game’s vast open world. There are hidden caves behind waterfalls and puzzle islands high in the sky, and venturing off the main path is definitely worth the effort.

One notable spot worth visiting is the Spire of Insight. This tower contains the recipe to craft a Gold Bar and also serves as a portal to more puzzle islands in the Abyss. Here’s where to find the spire and how to solve each puzzle on every floor of the tower.

Location of the Spire of Insight

To locate the Spire of Insight, travel southeast of Hernand toward the Steel Mountains. The tower is directly east of a small lake and is quite large, making it easy to spot. Be aware that goblin zealots patrol the area. While they can be handled individually, they tend to rely on numbers to overpower you. Luckily, you can reach and complete this tower early in your gameplay, so there’s no need to delay.

How to Enter the Spire of Insight

First, eliminate any goblins patrolling around, then clear the thorn bushes that block the stairs leading to the entrance. If you haven’t unlocked the Flame element, use your Blinding Flash ability by pressing both bumpers. Hold the Left Bumper while doing so to direct the sunlight beam onto the thorns, setting them ablaze after a few moments.

Once you have a clear path, you’ll see a locked door with a plaque and a basin attached. The plaque presents a simple riddle. The solution is easy: find a small pebble on the stairs, pick it up, and toss it into the basin. This will answer the riddle, and the door will unlock after a few seconds.

    First Floor Puzzle

Enter the tower; you’ll find yourself in a small library with bookshelves on both sides and an open book resting over a golden bowl at the back center. Reading the book gives you a riddle:
“Even after many years have passed, the traces left behind revive forgotten tales.”
To solve this, locate a Gravestone item on the table in the back right of the room. Toss it into the golden bowl to activate it. Stand next to the bowl to ride the elevator to the second floor.

Tip: Take some time to open storage boxes in this area. They contain keys, money, and jewelry that can be sold.

    Second Floor Puzzle

Once on the second floor, the book will turn its pages, revealing a new riddle:
“Records filled with wisdom guide us to the past, while tools that look to distant places illuminate the future.”
Again, you’ll need to toss items into the bowl. The required objects are a Pen Tip and a small Telescope. The Pen Tip can be found in the small room next to the gold bowl, on a desk by the window. The Telescope is on a desk to the right of that room. Bring both items to the bowl and toss them in to activate the elevator to the third floor.

    Third Floor Puzzle

On the third floor, you’ll get another riddle:
“The dance of the heavens, the turning of the Earth, and the march of time all point to a single truth.”
This time, find three specific items: a Small Rotating Globe, a Sundial, and a Celestial object. The Globe and Sundial are on nearby shelves, while the Celestial is on top of a stack of books between these shelves. Toss all three into the bowl to solve the puzzle.

    Final Step and Rewards

After completing all three puzzles, the room will have a portal at the top that leads to the Abyss. Riding it takes you to the Chaos Garden island, unlocking access to new Abyss puzzles and content.

Before leaving, it’s worth grabbing the alchemy recipe for Gold Bars pinned to a nearby bookcase, along with the “Two-Handed Weapons of the World: Volume III” on the bottom shelf. Reading this book unlocks more weapon crafting options at the smithy. Completing the tower also grants access to a portal to the Abyss, opening additional adventures on the Chaos Garden island.

How to Complete the Forgotten Altar Puzzle in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, the game offers so many distractions from the main story. With numerous side quests, boss fights, hidden gear, and puzzles, you’ll easily find yourself exploring this large world without realizing it.

One of the puzzles you’ll encounter while exploring the sky islands of the Abyss is called the Forgotten Altar. You can access it after solving the Origin of Thoughts puzzle. This puzzle is quite straightforward but depends on whether you’ve unlocked a specific ability. Here’s how to complete the Forgotten Altar puzzle and what you’ll receive for your efforts.

    Forgotten Altar Puzzle Solution

To get to the Forgotten Altar, first solve the Origin of Thoughts puzzle. Then, continue through the traversal section by following the blue light and using the fans to glide between the smaller islands. After passing through the teleporter, carefully hop across the floating platforms and activate the Abyss Gate.

Once at the Forgotten Altar, head left and look for a spherical Abyss Core lying on the ground. Use your Axiom Force to pick it up and place it on the podium above (as shown in the image). Be cautious of the thorn bushes around, as hitting them will cause damage.

Tip: You can burn away the thorns by using your Blinding Flash ability. Hold the Left Bumper and Right Bumper to activate it, then hold the Left Bumper and aim your crosshair at a thorn bush. After holding for a few seconds, the thorns will ignite and burn away.

After placing the Abyss Core into its slot, move to the right and locate a large fan hovering just off the main island. Flap up and land on top of this machine, which creates a large dust tornado. Be very careful when landing—falling into the machine could be fatal.

When on top of the machine:
Perform the Nature’s Sense skill. Note that this ability isn’t available at the start; you need to unlock it through an Abyss Artifact in the Spirit skill tree. You must fully level up Keen Senses first, which requires four Abyss Artifacts and raising your Focus skill to level 2. Once unlocked, stand on the machine and press both thumbsticks in to enter Focus mode. Keep rotating the right stick clockwise until the tornado slows down or stops. This will dissipate the tornado and give you access to a cage in the center of the island.

To continue, land on the cage, crouch, and do a Focus Palm Strike while facing downward. This causes the floor to rotate, dropping you into the cage. Inside, perform another Focus Palm on the floor switch to complete the puzzle and spawn the Abyss Artifact. Climb the walls and do one more Focus Palm to escape the cage.

Finally, approach the podium to claim your new Abyss Artifact. You can also explore more of the islands by passing through the triangular gate that appears behind where the artifact was obtained and using Axiom Force on the switch rising from the ground.

How to Solve the Origin of Thoughts Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is an expansive open-world game where you take on the role of Kliff, a mercenary working to rebuild his clan after a devastating loss. During your adventure, you’ll face tough bosses, discover hidden secrets, and solve various puzzles.

One of these puzzles is called the Origin of Thoughts. It’s located on a floating island in the Abyss, accessible once you unlock the Wind element. Here’s how to solve this puzzle and earn a helpful Abyss Artifact to upgrade your equipment.

Solution for the Origin of Thoughts Puzzle

When you arrive at the Origin of Thoughts, activate the Abyss Gate. Then, look to your left at a large fan blowing air into the sky. Use this fan to ride up to the first ring. From there, look southeast and fly toward the next set of fans. Use these fans to glide up to another floating ring, which has its fans turned off this time.

Land on the ring and find two floating platforms nearby. The right platform has a small alcove with a rectangular Abyss Core inside (as shown in the image). Use your Axiom Force’s Aerial Maneuver ability to reach the Abyss Core and pick up the floating battery there. Move this battery between the two platforms and then climb onto the top of your current platform.

Cross the gap to the platform with the deactivated fan. Insert the Abyss Core you just moved into the receptacle next to the fan. You’ll see green leaves swirling around, indicating the core is in the correct spot. Release it from Axiom Force and perform a Force Palm strike to lock it in place.

Next, ride the fans until you reach a large ring with a platform attached to the northeast. Land on this platform and locate a small hole on the right, where thick cables run. There’s a tiny yellow control switch you can attach your Axiom Force to.

Proceed to the next part, where the ring is divided into three sections: inner, middle, and outer. To solve the top-down menu puzzle, align the circular nodes in each section with the static circular nodes in the top-left corner of the menu. You can find each ring’s node by looking at the edge, as there will only be one per ring.

Once all three nodes are aligned with the static ones, the rings will glow blue. The game will then snap you out of the top-down view. Jump down and fall to the very bottom of the Origin of Thoughts. At the base, you’ll find a small circular switch surrounded by lights. Crouch and perform a Force Palm strike (R3) on this switch to finish the puzzle.

Completing the puzzle will spawn an Abyss Artifact on the podium. Additionally, passing through the triangle gate behind the podium creates a switch that can be activated with Axiom Force. This powers up a transporter that takes you to the next platforming challenge and a new puzzle island.

  • Solving the Vault of Vengeance Abyss Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Solving the Vault of Vengeance Abyss Puzzle in Crimson Desert

There are many puzzles in Crimson Desert that you need to solve to earn skill points, unlock fast travel spots, or get strong gear. While some puzzles are scattered across the world, the most challenging ones are on the floating islands in the Abyss.

One of these is the Vault of Vengeance. It uses a laser security system similar to the one from Resident Evil 4, with lots of lasers that you must avoid or deactivate. Completing this puzzle can be tricky because it requires a special skill that’s optional and easy to overlook.

    Vault of Vengeance Puzzle Solution

When you arrive on the island, your first step is to open the vault. To do that, look to your left and pick up the square Abyss Core floating near some bushes. Place it on the square pedestal in front of the main gate and let it hover there. Repeat this process with the Abyss Core on the right side and its corresponding pedestal. Once both cores are in place, the gate will lower, letting you approach it. To open the door, draw your bow and use the Focused Shot skill to shoot two arrows at the yellow buttons at the same time. If you haven’t unlocked this skill yet, go to the Skills menu and find the Focused Shot in the green Spirit tree. You need to use one Abyss Artifact to unlock this skill, which is necessary to solve this puzzle.

If you have the Focused Shot skill, aim and shoot both of the circular yellow switches on either side of the door. Draw your bow, hold down both sticks, mark both switches with your Right Bumper, then release the Left Trigger to fire your arrows and open the door. Once inside, use Nature’s Grasp to lift the door and enter the central vault.

Inside, you’ll see a large set of laser beams that can harm you if touched. To deactivate them, look at the back left and right corners of the room for four yellow switches. Use Focused Shot to mark and hit all four switches at once. It can be a bit tough to tell if they are correctly marked, so try a few times to ensure you hit each one precisely and disable the laser grid. After the lasers are turned off, you can grab the Golden Sword at the center, which will lower the platform into the lower part of the vault. Make sure to loot the area around the sword before descending, as there are many chests and valuable items you can sell to vendors. Collect anything that isn’t nailed down to make good money.

When you go down to the lower level, you’ll find a corridor filled with laser beams in different patterns. There are two ways to get through: the first is to carefully and slowly walk through the moving laser grid, looking for gaps where you can crouch and avoid the beams. Keep in mind, more lasers turn on as you go further down, so don’t rush blindly—it’s easy to get hit.

The second option is to run straight through and absorb the damage. If you have some food, you can take the hits, as lasers usually won’t kill you unless your health is already low. This method isn’t as neat, but it works if you prefer a quicker route.

At the end of the hallway, use the Axiom Force to place the square Abyss Core into its slot and then activate it with Force Push. If you have the Forced Current skill in the Spirit tree, using it can make this step much easier.

Next, take the elevator to the top level. There, you’ll see two rectangular Abyss Cores beside a large circular switch. Push each core into their respective sockets using Force Push or Forced Current. Doing this will activate the central switch; press it with one final Force Push to complete the circuit.

On the raised platform in front, there will be an Abyss Artifact on the right and a chest containing an Abyss Core on the left. This marks the end of the puzzle. However, you can keep exploring the islands by passing through the triangular gate to summon more platforms and find additional secrets.

  • Solving the Duskwoods Ancient Ruins Pillar Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Solving the Duskwoods Ancient Ruins Pillar Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is a new fantasy role-playing game where you take on the role of Kliff, a mercenary. Your main goal is to rebuild your clan by exploring a large world, rescuing allies, completing quests, fighting bosses, and solving puzzles.

One of the puzzles is located in the Duskwood Ancient Ruins. It involves raising multiple stone pillars so they all line up at the same height. This can be tricky because you can’t raise all four pillars at the same time. Here’s where to find the puzzle, how to solve it, and what rewards you get.

How to Solve the Duskwood Stone Pillar Puzzle

First, go to the northern part of The Witchwoods, to the landmass separated by two big rivers. In the forest, you’ll find ancient ruins with five stone pillars, a small energy pillar in front, and a large stone capstan at the bottom of the stairs.

Approach the two braziers near the stairs. Draw your bow, then light an arrow on fire and shoot it at both the capstan and the stone pillars to burn away the vines covering them. After clearing the vines, look at the five pillars closely. Notice the notches or segments on each pillar—they will help you measure how much to move them.

Number the pillars from left to right as 1 through 5. Pillar 1 doesn’t move at all. Your goal is to make pillars 2 through 5 the same height as pillar 1, which is the shortest.

The capstan has four sides, each with a section where you can insert your sword. Different sides move different groups of pillars, indicated when a pillar glows yellow. To insert your sword, face the capstan and press the Right Bumper + Y on Xbox or Right Bumper + Triangle on PlayStation. This will create a handle that you can use to turn the capstan.

Next, go to the northern side of the capstan—the side facing the stairs—and stab your sword into it. This action moves only pillars 2, 3, and 4. Raise these so their top segments match the bottom segments of pillar 1, which remains the shortest. When done, the pillars should resemble the photo above.

Now, remove your sword from the capstan and insert it into the hole in the bottom right corner. This move adjusts only pillars 2 and 5. Raise these so that pillars 1 and 2 are aligned and glowing yellow. This will also bring pillars 3, 4, and 5 into the same height, matching each other, as shown in the reference image.

Finally, go to the socket facing the stairs and insert your sword again. Rotate it clockwise to lift pillars 3, 4, and 5 until they reach the same height as pillars 1 and 2. When all the pillars glow bright blue and the front energy pillar shines, the puzzle is complete.

You can then take the Abyss Cresset from the small pillar. This not only makes this spot a fast travel point but also grants you a free Skill Point.

  • How to Complete the Tanoby Key Puzzle in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen

How to Complete the Tanoby Key Puzzle in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen

After defeating all gym leaders, reaching the Elite Four, and becoming the champion of the Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen League, the game world opens up for more exploration. With the National Dex unlocked, you can revisit the Sevii Islands to discover new areas, Pokémon, and challenges waiting for you.

While some players focus on hunting Legendary Pokémon like Lugia and Ho-Oh, there’s a hidden puzzle on Six Island that leads to a special Pokémon inside the Tanoby Ruins: Unown. Here’s how to solve the Tanoby Key puzzle and catch all the Unown in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen.

    ### Where to Find the Tanoby Key Puzzle

To find the Tanoby Key Puzzle, you first need to finish the main story and do the postgame quests on the Sevii Islands. When you arrive at Six Island, look for a strange cave in Sevault Canyon, south of the main area.

Once you’re in Sevault Canyon, progress south until just before the rest house near the water. On the left side, you’ll see a hidden cave entrance in a small section with tall grass outside. Enter the cave, which will present you with a series of seven boulders blocking your path.

If your Pokémon already knows Strength, you can start solving the puzzle right away.

    ### How to Solve the Tanoby Key Puzzle

To solve the puzzle, first label the boulders from 1 to 7 for easier instructions. The boulders are positioned and labeled as follows:

    1. Boulder One – Top middle
    2. Boulder Two – Top left
    3. Boulder Three – Top right
    4. Boulder Four – Bottom left
    5. Boulder Five – Bottom right
    6. Boulder Six – Middle left
    7. Boulder Seven – Middle right

Begin by pushing Boulder One straight up into the top central space. Then move through the center and position yourself to the left of Boulder Two. Push Boulder Two into the middle, then up twice. Next, move to the right of Boulder Three, push it once into the middle, then up twice, and finally, shift Boulder Three into the right uppermost spot.

For the bottom section, push Boulder Four left, then Boulder Five right. Hop over the ledge and push Boulder Four straight up into the bottom left space. Repeat the same for Boulder Five, pushing it up into the bottom right space.

Now, move Boulder Six below the top left, push it straight up into the rock, then left into the open space. Do the same with Boulder Seven, pushing it up into the rock, then right into the last open space. The final step is to move Boulder Six and Boulder Seven into the middle two open spots.

Once all boulders are properly arranged, you’ll see a message: “A mysterious rumble echoed somewhere far away,” signaling that the puzzle has been successfully completed.

    ### Accessing the Unown Ruins

With the puzzle solved, you can now explore the series of water caves south of Six Island. These caves contain all 28 Unown forms: letters A through Z, along with the exclamation mark and question mark forms. Remember, you’ll need to explore different caves within the Tanoby Ruins area to collect every letter and symbol. Don’t forget to search all the caves thoroughly to find them all.
