Which Rogue Subclass Should You Pick in Solasta 2: Completing or Solving?

When assembling your starting team in Solasta 2, it’s crucial to diversify each member so your party can handle nearly any situation without trouble. However, figuring out how to level up each character as the story unfolds can be tricky. We’re here to help you understand the Rogue class better, so you can level them up smoothly and confidently.

From initial stats to choosing a subclass, this guide covers everything you need to make your Rogue stealthy and effective in both combat and outdoor encounters. Since Rogues are vital team members, these tips will help you make them self-sufficient.

Best Stats for the Rogue Class

The starting stats matter a lot. Focus on Dexterity, Constitution, Strength, and Charisma as your main priorities. Wisdom and Intelligence are less important early on, but you can spread points between them as needed, as long as Dexterity and Constitution stay at the top of your list.

Since Rogues work best as the shadows of the party, creating a character that can easily slip out of sight is a good idea. Some of the best build options to make that happen include choosing the right ancestry, background, and personality traits.

Recommended Ancestry: Halflings are especially good because of their racial trait that allows them to go unnoticed by creatures that are larger than them. Humans are also versatile since they can adapt easily between classes, but halflings give that extra sneaky advantage for stealth and surprise attacks.

    Best Backgrounds:

    • Aristocrat
    • Artist
    • Lowlife
    • Spy

    Ideal Attributes and Ranges:
    | Attribute | Priority | Ideal Range |
    |————-|——————|—————-|
    | Strength | Medium | 10-12 |
    | Dexterity | High | 12-15 |
    | Constitution| High | 12-15 |
    | Wisdom | Low | 8-10 |
    | Intelligence| Low | 8-10 |
    | Charisma | Medium | 10-12 |

Developing your Rogue with these priorities will make sure they’re quick, tough enough to stay alive, and capable of sneaky maneuvers.

    Building Your Rogue: Key Tips

Your Rogue’s starting stats should emphasize Dexterity, Constitution, Strength, and Charisma. Wisdom and Intelligence can be secondary, but it’s best to focus on the main ones first, especially Dexterity and Constitution, to get the most out of stealth and survivability.

Because Rogues excel at sneaking and avoiding detection, choosing an ancestry like halfling gives you an edge in stealth. The halfling’s racial feature that helps go unnoticed by larger enemies makes it easier to sneak past foes or set up a powerful sneak attack.

Choosing a Subclass at Level 3

At level three, Rogues can pick a subclass, which shapes their special abilities. There are two main options: one that favors melee combat and looting, and another focused on magic and stealth.

    Scavenger Subclass

This subclass emphasizes melee skills aimed at triggering Sneak Attack advantages. It also leverages Surprise mechanics to catch enemies off guard for maximum damage—ideal for aggressive, close-up fighting. Outside of combat, the Haggler feature makes it easier to buy and sell goods at better prices, saving money for your party. The discount is even more significant if the merchant’s faction is friendly toward you.

    Shadowcaster Subclass

If you prefer flexibility and a mix of magic and stealth, the Shadowcaster is the way to go. It allows your Rogue to cast spells—while still benefiting from Sneak Attack mechanics—greatly expanding your tactical options. Spells like Shadow Dagger offer flavor and utility, helping you deal damage or support your party without engaging directly in combat.

    Which Subclass Is Better?

Overall, the Shadowcaster is considered the best choice for a Rogue. It combines strong melee and magical damage, along with sneak attack bonuses, making your character highly versatile. Its ability to cast spells enhances both offensive and defensive capabilities.

The Scavenger subclass, while useful, falls behind in comparison to the Shadowcaster’s overall flexibility and power. Whether you’re new to the game or experienced, most players will appreciate the dynamic combat options a spell-casting Rogue provides.

Where to Find the Mysterious Woman in Caer Mar Solving in Solasta 2

In Solasta 2, there are many quests for you to complete as you work on your holy mission. From the shores of Caer Mar to distant parts of Solasta, there’s always something for the Colwall Clan to do. We’ll help you finish these tasks quickly.

Soon after your journey starts, you’ll get the chance to do an escort mission. Here’s what you need to know about who you’re protecting and where she’s headed so you can keep her safe. Let’s see how you can ensure Jebfa gets home safely.

    Where To Find Jebfa

While exploring Caer Mar, you’ll encounter a crime scene. A Siklas woman was murdered here, and a halfling runs away in a rush when she sees the body. Your group will talk about this and suggest you chase after her, but where did she go?

You’ll find her just around the corner, northwest of the crime spot. Talk to her to hear her worries and why she was more shaken than others passing by. She asks if you’ll escort her to her camp beyond the border, and you have a choice to make.

You can agree right away and negotiate a reward, or tell her to come back later. She’ll remain here, waiting. When you finally decide to help, you’ll gain a positive relationship with the Ka’Umm Alliance.

Jebfa will temporarily join your party, but note that in early access, if she dies, it’s game over.

Where To Find The Tamesh Camp

Once you agree to escort Jebfa, leave the city and head east toward the border. Then move northeast to the marker marking Tamesh camp.

On your way, Jebfa will stop you and inform your party that they’re being followed. You’ll have a moment to prepare before a group of thugs and a sandlion try to ambush you.

A good strategy is to sneak around the cliffside to gain the high ground, which offers a tactical advantage. Use your best ranged attacks to weaken the enemies from a distance before they get close. After defeating them, loot the bodies and talk with Jebfa about the artifacts she gathered from the Siklas.

If you’ve spoken with Kito back in town, you can mention Jebfa’s bracelet to him so he can inform the Siklas’ family about the murder.

After the fight and discussions, head to the Tamesh camp. The quest ends there as Jebfa reunites with her loved ones. You’re free to speak with others at the camp, but there’s nothing more to do about the artifacts.

Which Stats and Attributes to Invest in for Your Class in Solasta 2? Completing vs. Solving

Building a character in Solasta 2 requires understanding the different stats and attributes that make your character unique. Without knowing these, you might create a character that’s unbalanced, making even easy levels difficult. Luckily, this guide is here to explain each main stat and other traits that add personality to your character. Follow along to learn what you need for solid stats and character depth in any encounter.

What Do Stats Mean in Solasta 2

The stats in Solasta 2 are similar to those in Dungeons & Dragons 5e. If you’re familiar with the tabletop game, you already know what they do. If you’re new, some stats may seem confusing, so here is what each one represents:

All Stats and What They Do

    Stat Description Best Classes
Strength Measures physical power, athletic ability, and how much raw force you can exert. Fighter, Paladin
Dexterity Reflects agility, reflexes, and balance. Important for dodging attacks and landing landings. Rogue, Fighter
Constitution Indicates health, stamina, and toughness. Affects how much damage you can take, your total HP, and resilience. All Classes
Wisdom Shows awareness of your surroundings, perception, and intuition. Useful for perception checks, religious knowledge, and resisting magic. Cleric, Paladin
Intelligence Measures mental sharpness, memory, and reasoning skills. Wizard, Sorcerer
Charisma Reflects social skills, confidence, charm, and influence. How effectively you interact with others. All Classes

Note: Charisma can be your lowest stat if you aren’t worried about talking your way through situations, but it’s helpful for convincing NPCs.

When you create your character, you get 27 points to allocate across these stats. Spending points evenly may seem safe, but it often isn’t optimal. Each class has ideal stats. For balanced characters, start with these guidelines:

    • 15 – Your highest stat, usually based on your class’s main focus.
    • 14 – Your second-highest; likely Constitution or Dexterity for certain classes.
    • 13 – A solid, secondary stat that your class needs but isn’t primary, like Intelligence or Strength.
    • 12 – A nice backup stat, paired with your main or second-highest.
    • 10 – A less important stat, which you might want but can afford to be lower.
    • 8 – A dump stat that you ignore, such as Strength for magic users or Wisdom for melee characters.

    All Attributes in Solasta 2

In addition to core stats, there are other traits that shape your character. These include personality, ancestry, and background, which influence gameplay and role-playing.

    Which Personality Should You Pick?

Your personality affects how your character communicates—the tone, responses, humor, and attitude. There are eight types to choose from, and while they don’t directly impact stats, they shape your role-playing experience.

    Background Description
Caregiver Friendly, optimistic, helpful, and cheerful.
Everyman Easygoing, approachable, and friendly, but somewhat bland.
Hero Passionate, eager, and enthusiastic—sometimes overly so.
Innocent Cautious, discreet, soft-spoken, and avoids conflict.
Jester Cynical, provocative, sneaky, and often makes fun, even at inappropriate times.
Outlaw Rebellious, ambitious, somewhat greedy, and aggressive.
Ruler Practical, terse, and sometimes seem cold or authoritative.
Sage Curious, talkative, and inquisitive about everything.

Tip: This choice is final; it cannot be changed later, so decide wisely before confirming your character.

    Which Ancestry Should You Pick?

Your ancestry corresponds to your race—like Dwarf, Halfling, Elf, or Human. Some races, such as elves, have subraces that further influence stats and traits. While ancestry is important for gameplay, it’s less critical than your background. Many players pick based on aesthetic or personal preference, but experienced players aiming to optimize will choose carefully.

    Which Background Should You Pick?

Your background reflects what your character did before attending the event that starts the story, and it grants specific benefits:

    Background Benefits (Stats & Features)
Academic Boosts Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Arcana, History, Crafting, and grants Magic Initiate (Wizard).
Acolyte Enhances Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Religion, and Medicine skills.

Each background offers specific bonus stats and skills to help you tailor your character’s role and abilities.
