  • Should You Complete Wyll’s Contract or Seek Solving in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Should You Complete Wyll’s Contract or Seek Solving in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Completing Wyll’s personal storyline in Baldur’s Gate 3 can take up almost the entire game. Each companion has small story threads early on that lead to a big choice in Act 3. Wyll is no different.

When you reach the outskirts of Baldur’s Gate, Wyll will get a chance to break his pact with Mizora for good. But this choice isn’t free; it’s part of a crucial scene. This guide explains how to trigger that scene, the benefits and drawbacks of each option, and how to get the best result for Wyll and the city.

Note: This guide contains spoilers for Act 3 and Wyll’s story. Specific quest details are saved for the final section of this guide.

    Updated March 31, 2026:
This guide now includes the latest updates. It explains how to achieve a win-win situation for Wyll.

    How to Break Wyll’s Contract

You’ll have a chance to free Wyll from Mizora’s hold early in Act 3. Three conditions must be met:

    1. Talk to Gortash during the Archduke ceremony in Wyrm’s Crossing.
    2. After the ceremony, speak to Duke Ravengard with Wyll in your party. Wyll will mention that something isn’t right with his father. Follow up with him at the camp later.
    3. Enter the lower city of Baldur’s Gate.

When these three are done, Mizora will visit your camp after your next long rest. Make sure you camp inside Baldur’s Gate so she appears.

During that conversation, Mizora will say the real Duke Ravengard is being held somewhere you’ll never find. She offers to help if you give her Wyll’s soul forever. This is true whether you freed her earlier or not.

If you sign her contract, she reveals the Duke’s location, allowing your party to plan a rescue. If you refuse, the Duke will die — at least, that’s what she claims.

The catch is, Wyll actually has a way to have his cake and eat it too, but only if you choose carefully. Wyll doesn’t make the final decision; you do. There are no checks or dialogue choices that let him decide himself.

    Important:
You can rescue the Duke without witnessing Mizora’s scene, but doing so will prevent you from choosing to break Wyll’s pact later. If you stumble upon the rescue opportunity early, wait until you’re ready.

What Happens If You Sign the Contract

If Wyll signs Mizora’s new pact, she will tell you where Duke Ravengard is located in the “Should You Break Wyll’s Contract” section below. The map will update with this information. Most party members will agree with Wyll’s decision, even Wyll himself, despite his connection to Mizora.

There are no gameplay penalties for this choice. Wyll’s combat abilities and powers stay the same, and you don’t get any extra rewards. It’s generally not a good option, since you can probably find the location yourself just as easily.

What Happens If You Break the Contract

Breaking Mizora’s pact frees Wyll from his deal, but this doesn’t happen until the very end of the game. Mizora will say that Ulder Ravengard’s life is forfeit, but Wyll is free.

Note: This is a bluff. Duke Ravengard does NOT die immediately. Breaking the contract only makes it harder to rescue him later. You’ll need to track down his location through other clues.

Most party members will have mixed feelings—some will praise Wyll for standing up to Mizora, others will feel conflicted about losing Ulder Ravengard.

Despite ending the pact, Wyll retains his powers and can still be used as a Warlock for the rest of your game. The side quest regarding Duke Ravengard’s location will be affected, but that’s the only change.

    Should You Break Wyll’s Contract?

Yes, since it’s possible to break Mizora’s pact and still rescue Ulder Ravengard in a single playthrough. To do this, look for clues at the docks or in the sewers of the Lower City, often near a “greasy climb-up” point. A spellcaster friend can make finding the location easier.

    For the detailed steps:
Mizora won’t tell you where the Duke is. Instead, you need to find the Iron Throne — a submerged prison. Head to the east of Baldur’s Gate docks, inside the Flymm Cargo Warehouse (coordinates X: -161, Y: -141), and use the basement hatch.

    Here’s a map for reference:

    • [Map of the Iron Temple submarine location and prison entrance]

Once there, persuade or fight the owner of the submarine, then use it to reach the Iron Throne prison. Keep in mind that boarding the submarine triggers a timer— the prison is exploding. Everyone has five turns to escape after the door closes.

Your goal is to save Duke Ravengard. Focus on rescuing him first. Use spells like Misty Step, Freedom of Movement, or Haste to move quickly.

To free prisoners, interact with the levers near their cells—either up close or from a distance. Most prisoners are not vital, but one important character is Omeluum. He might be behind other prisoners and can teleport himself and one ally directly to the submarine if you reach him quickly.

Once the Duke is free, lead him to the submarine before the time runs out. He’ll follow, but beware of potential enemies blocking the exits.

After rescuing him, either leave or attempt to save more prisoners, including Omeluum if possible.

Once aboard the submarine, you can decide to escape or continue searching for other prisoners. The main priority is Ulder Ravengard to advance Wyll’s story. After rescuing him, speak to the Duke back at camp for storyline progression and possible character interactions. Mizora’s dialogue will also change afterward but won’t affect gameplay much.

This route is the most fulfilling, leading to the best ending of Wyll’s quest with no long-term downsides. You’ll also see that Wyll is no longer controlled by Mizora, and Duke Ravengard is safe.

Note: The next section reveals Duke Ravengard’s location and how to finish this part of Wyll’s story. If you want to discover it yourself, stop reading now and try to piece together clues from the hints above.

  • Should You Kill or Save Shadowheart’s Parents in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Should You Kill or Save Shadowheart’s Parents in Baldur’s Gate 3?

If you decide to follow the dark path of the Dark Justiciar, you’ll find Shadowheart’s parents hanging in the House of Grief after defeating them. Lady Shar will then demand that Shadowheart execute her own parents. This is definitely the evil route.

Allowing Shadowheart to kill her parents results in their death, but it has deeper consequences. Their souls are sent into eternal torment in Shar’s dark afterlife, forever separated from her worship. The only silver lining is that Shadowheart’s memory will be wiped again as she gains more power, meaning she won’t remember her parents and won’t believe you if you tell her what happened. You’re left with the burden of this decision.

Choosing this route also boosts Shadowheart’s power. Any remaining Justiciars in the previous room will come under her control and fight alongside you in the final battle. However, be careful not to kill all the Justiciars in that room, as you’ll need some of them to join your team during the last fight. Without allies, you’ll miss out on key benefits of this choice.

    —

If instead you follow the Sune path, after defeating Mother Superior, Shar will still appear in the House of Grief and push Shadowheart to kill her parents. Killing them here is a very different story. If Shadowheart walks the light of Selune, she can choose to spare her parents. Both options will lead to her parents being rescued and joining your camp for the rest of the game.

To convince her to make this decision herself, you can trigger some memories in the Lower City that remind her of her past life. There are three spots where these memories can be unlocked:

    1. Allister Marnley’s Grave (X: 24, Y: 14)
    2. Graffiti on a wall near the Baldur’s Gate waypoint (X: -214, Y: -32)
    3. Shadowheart’s hidden spot in the Night Orchid cave, the basement of the House of Grief

You only need two of these memories to motivate her, but high approval with Shadowheart is helpful. Even if you don’t revisit these places, you can still persuade her to save her parents by supporting her emotionally and encouraging her to make her own choice.

If you decide to save her parents, they will be brought back to camp and have a chance to live out their days peacefully. Emmeline, Shadowheart’s mother, will still suffer from severe memory loss and declining health but will offer wisdom and comfort. Arnell, her father, will consistently give advice, and both will help lift Shadowheart’s mood throughout the story.

However, keep in mind that her curse remains. It is mysterious but causes her intense nightly pain and torture that will continue for her entire life. Despite this, if she survives, Shadowheart will eventually accept her loss and offer to stay with you, moving on despite her guilt. In romantic endings, she might openly admit her longing to reconnect with her parents, revealing her deep feelings and regrets.

    —

In a different scenario, if you betray Shar and choose to save Shadowheart’s parents, both routes (Shar or Selune) will lead to her parents being freed and joining your camp. To ensure this, support her in making her own decision when the moment comes. You may also want to trigger specific memories in the Lower City to strengthen her resolve—visiting places like Allister Marnley’s Grave, the graffiti near the waypoint, or her secret spot in the Sombre Embrace basement can help. These prompt her to comment and then speak with you, reinforcing her choice.

Just be aware: her parents will survive, but her curse remains. She will continue to suffer nightly pain, a burden that will likely persist, and her memory of her past will stay intact. Still, she might eventually settle down with her parents near you, living out her days, even as she endures centuries of the curse.

If you are romancing Shadowheart, she might express a desire to reconnect with her family, saying she would have given anything to speak with them again, even if it meant continuing her curse. Supporting her in saving her parents aligns with her true feelings and may lead to a bittersweet, emotionally rich ending.

    —

Throughout all choices, significant relationships and pivotal decisions shape Shadowheart’s fate. Whether she bears her curse in silence or finds peace with her past, the route you choose leaves a lasting mark on her story.

  • Which Cleric Subclass Should You Choose in Solasta 2 for Completing and Solving?

Which Cleric Subclass Should You Choose in Solasta 2 for Completing and Solving?

There’s always something to do in Solasta 2, whether you’re fighting on the front lines as a warrior or supporting your team as a cleric. Each member of your party has a specific role that only they can handle. No matter what you choose, it’s helpful to review your stats, backgrounds, and especially subclasses.

Choosing a subclass for your cleric is an important decision. We’ll help you understand your options and what they mean for combat. Here’s everything you need to create a strong cleric who can support your team through various adventures.

    ### Best Stats for the Cleric Class

    | Stat | Priority | Ideal Range |
    |—————-|————|——————-|
    | Strength | Low | 8-10 |
    | Dexterity | Low | 8-10 |
    | Constitution | High | 12-15 |
    | Wisdom | High | 12-15 |
    | Intelligence | Medium | 10-12 |
    | Charisma | Medium | 10-12 |

A cleric is usually the healer in a group and has a strong connection to their deity. Humans are great for this class, but any race can become a cleric. They need high Wisdom to cast spells effectively and good Constitution to have more hit points.

    ### Best Build Options for the Cleric Class

    | Best Ancestry | Best Backgrounds | Best Personalities |
    |—————-|——————————|——————————|
    | (Various possible options based on preferred playstyle) | Acolyte, Artist, Ascetic, Occultist, Philosopher | Caregiver, Innocent, Ruler, Sage |

Humans are flexible with any class because they can choose a feat early on. Any race can make a good cleric if the stats align. For backgrounds, Occultist and Ascetic are excellent choices to boost your cleric’s power. At level three, you can select one of three subclasses to specialize further.

    ### Subclasses

    #### Life Domain
Focused on healing, this subclass makes your cleric the ultimate healer. Spells like Cure Wounds and Healing Word deal double damage, and using Disciple of Life increases healing even more. You can also bring teammates back from the brink, making this a classic choice for a supportive cleric.

    #### Oblivion Domain
This subclass emphasizes burst damage and support in combat. It allows you to revive allies from a distance and deal necrotic AoE damage with Herald of Pain unless enemies pass a Wisdom saving throw. This option balances support and offense, adding power to your cleric without losing their core abilities.

    #### Battle Domain
This subclass drops the healing focus to concentrate on damage, turning your cleric into a holy warrior akin to a paladin. It’s ideal if your team lacks melee fighters or if other casters are supporting from afar. This build lets your cleric heal themselves well and serve as a tank, holding the line while others attack enemies from a distance.

    ### Which Subclass is Best for You?
For beginners, starting with the Oblivion Domain offers a good balance of healing and damage. On higher difficulties, consider choosing either the Life Domain or the Battle Domain based on your team’s needs. If your party already has someone skilled at soaking up damage, focusing on healing might be less critical, and you might favor a more offensive subclass.

  • Which Rogue Subclass Should You Pick in Solasta 2: Completing or Solving?

Which Rogue Subclass Should You Pick in Solasta 2: Completing or Solving?

When assembling your starting team in Solasta 2, it’s crucial to diversify each member so your party can handle nearly any situation without trouble. However, figuring out how to level up each character as the story unfolds can be tricky. We’re here to help you understand the Rogue class better, so you can level them up smoothly and confidently.

From initial stats to choosing a subclass, this guide covers everything you need to make your Rogue stealthy and effective in both combat and outdoor encounters. Since Rogues are vital team members, these tips will help you make them self-sufficient.

Best Stats for the Rogue Class

The starting stats matter a lot. Focus on Dexterity, Constitution, Strength, and Charisma as your main priorities. Wisdom and Intelligence are less important early on, but you can spread points between them as needed, as long as Dexterity and Constitution stay at the top of your list.

Since Rogues work best as the shadows of the party, creating a character that can easily slip out of sight is a good idea. Some of the best build options to make that happen include choosing the right ancestry, background, and personality traits.

Recommended Ancestry: Halflings are especially good because of their racial trait that allows them to go unnoticed by creatures that are larger than them. Humans are also versatile since they can adapt easily between classes, but halflings give that extra sneaky advantage for stealth and surprise attacks.

    Best Backgrounds:

    • Aristocrat
    • Artist
    • Lowlife
    • Spy

    Ideal Attributes and Ranges:
    | Attribute | Priority | Ideal Range |
    |————-|——————|—————-|
    | Strength | Medium | 10-12 |
    | Dexterity | High | 12-15 |
    | Constitution| High | 12-15 |
    | Wisdom | Low | 8-10 |
    | Intelligence| Low | 8-10 |
    | Charisma | Medium | 10-12 |

Developing your Rogue with these priorities will make sure they’re quick, tough enough to stay alive, and capable of sneaky maneuvers.

    Building Your Rogue: Key Tips

Your Rogue’s starting stats should emphasize Dexterity, Constitution, Strength, and Charisma. Wisdom and Intelligence can be secondary, but it’s best to focus on the main ones first, especially Dexterity and Constitution, to get the most out of stealth and survivability.

Because Rogues excel at sneaking and avoiding detection, choosing an ancestry like halfling gives you an edge in stealth. The halfling’s racial feature that helps go unnoticed by larger enemies makes it easier to sneak past foes or set up a powerful sneak attack.

Choosing a Subclass at Level 3

At level three, Rogues can pick a subclass, which shapes their special abilities. There are two main options: one that favors melee combat and looting, and another focused on magic and stealth.

    Scavenger Subclass

This subclass emphasizes melee skills aimed at triggering Sneak Attack advantages. It also leverages Surprise mechanics to catch enemies off guard for maximum damage—ideal for aggressive, close-up fighting. Outside of combat, the Haggler feature makes it easier to buy and sell goods at better prices, saving money for your party. The discount is even more significant if the merchant’s faction is friendly toward you.

    Shadowcaster Subclass

If you prefer flexibility and a mix of magic and stealth, the Shadowcaster is the way to go. It allows your Rogue to cast spells—while still benefiting from Sneak Attack mechanics—greatly expanding your tactical options. Spells like Shadow Dagger offer flavor and utility, helping you deal damage or support your party without engaging directly in combat.

    Which Subclass Is Better?

Overall, the Shadowcaster is considered the best choice for a Rogue. It combines strong melee and magical damage, along with sneak attack bonuses, making your character highly versatile. Its ability to cast spells enhances both offensive and defensive capabilities.

The Scavenger subclass, while useful, falls behind in comparison to the Shadowcaster’s overall flexibility and power. Whether you’re new to the game or experienced, most players will appreciate the dynamic combat options a spell-casting Rogue provides.

  • Which Starting Class Should You Choose in Octopath Traveler 0: Completing or Solving?

Which Starting Class Should You Choose in Octopath Traveler 0: Completing or Solving?

After finishing the prologue in Octopath Traveler 0, you get to select your starting class for the game. This choice isn’t permanent, as you can unlock new classes along the way by earning JP (Job Points) and unlocking their skills. However, you’ll remain with your initial class, weapons, and abilities until you gather enough JP to unlock a new one. Since there are three different routes you can take, it’s important to pick the best starting class to give yourself an advantage early on. Here are the top classes to consider when beginning Octopath Traveler 0.

Which Job Should You Choose First?

When you start, you’ll recruit several characters early in the story. Although your abilities won’t match those of the recruitable characters, it’s wise to avoid duplicating skills unless necessary. Consider enemy and boss weaknesses during the first part of the game, along with the characters you recruit initially, to determine which classes are most advantageous.

    S Tier Starting Classes

These classes stand out as the strongest choices right at the beginning, offering unique advantages and opportunities that make them excellent picks for an optimal start.

    Thief

While there’s another dagger user later, many enemies are vulnerable to swords early in the game. The Thief’s SP and HP can be invaluable, especially with skills like Steal, which allows you to get items from bosses early on. The ability to remove items from enemies gives you strategic control and access to valuable loot.

    Merchant

Starting with the Merchant class is beneficial because the Arrow of Fortune skill grants extra JP, helping you level up faster. You’ll wield a polearm, and skills like Mystic Shot enable you to regain SP during battles, making this class versatile for early combat and leveling.

    Scholar

Being able to identify enemy weaknesses for free early on is a big plus. Skills like Analyze help uncover vulnerabilities, and the class provides access to elemental damage options that aren’t available in the opening chapters, giving you an edge in battles.

    Cleric

Healing across an entire row instead of one person at a time is a valuable skill. Although other healers will join your team, the Cleric’s early access to Wondrous Veil, which revives allies, and Celestial Veil, which restores SP, make this class highly useful for staying alive in tough fights.

    A Tier Starting Classes

These classes are useful in specific situations but are quickly replaceable once you progress through the early chapters. They’re not bad choices, just not as impactful early on.

    Apothecary

Early in the game, you’ll have access to an axe-wielding character. The Apothecary class offers useful skills like Enshroud (to blind enemies), Vivify (for reviving allies), and Heal All (to recover health for multiple characters). However, many of these functions can be performed with items later, so it’s not essential.

    Warrior

A straightforward choice with no major drawbacks. You’ll find another warrior early on, but the Warrior class excels in dealing damage with polearms and swords, making Assault a great skill for damaging all enemies, and Counter Posture helps counter physical attacks. Increasing attack power and lowering enemies’ defense can be very helpful against bosses. The main reason it’s ranked here is because it can be replaced later with more interesting classes, and its unique abilities are somewhat limited once you have more options.

    B Tier Starting Classes

These are decent options but are generally less useful early on, and you’ll likely replace them quickly as the story unfolds.

    Dancer

The main benefit of choosing Dancer early is access to Ice Damage. However, enemies and bosses rarely fall for fan damage, so Dancer is more support-oriented. Early game, it doesn’t offer much standalone power, and you’ll rely more on other party members to deal damage.

    Hunter

The Hunter class allows for axe and bow attacks, which are common enemy weaknesses, but you’ll encounter multiple characters capable of using these weapons, such as Phenn and Stia. Phenn also provides wind damage options, making the Hunter somewhat redundant early in the game. While Two-Tiered Shot is useful, other classes offer more unique and powerful skills, so the Hunter isn’t the best first choice.

Choosing the right starting class can significantly impact your early game experience. Prioritize classes that give you strategic advantages, such as strong offensive options, utility skills, or early access to powerful abilities.

  • How to Complete a Hidden Treasure in Aeolia in Moonlighter 2

How to Complete a Hidden Treasure in Aeolia in Moonlighter 2

With Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault now available in early access, players can start exploring dungeons and trading rare treasures with villagers. As you improve your town’s economy, you’ll also have the chance to take on various side quests from important characters you meet along the way.

Many of these quests are for Eris, the potion maker. After first entering Zephyr Fields, she will have a vision that guides you to a special hidden item deep in the dungeon. Here’s how to complete the “A Hidden Treasure In Aeolia” quest and what it unlocks.

How To Complete A Hidden Treasure In Aeolia

Once you accept the quest, you need to go into the Zephyr Fields dungeon. Luckily, the hidden path you’re looking for is right at the start of this area. From the spawn point, move along the left side of the platform and go around to the back. There’s a zipline there that takes you up to a concealed pathway above.

Follow this pathway until you reach a portal that leads to a hidden zone. Inside, you’ll need to navigate a maze of wires to reach the end. The only real danger here is falling off the edge, but it’s quite difficult unless you’re actively trying to fall.

    Reaching the Hidden Zone

When you arrive in the secret area, follow the ziplines until you get to a three-way junction. From this point, you’ll need to zipline between floating islands to maneuver through the maze. Use the diagram below as a guide, where each move is indicated as Up, Down, Left, or Right. Even as you change positions on the ziplines, these directions apply.

The Correct Path to the Scroll

Starting from the initial island, take these steps:

    1. Down
    2. Right
    3. Right
    4. Up
    5. Left
    6. Up
    7. Left (this zipline drops you to a lower platform)
    8. Down
    9. Left

This sequence will lead you directly to the scroll that contains the recipe for the Blo-Blaster gun. When you reach the end, grab the scroll.

    Unlocking the Blo-Blaster

Once you have the scroll, you can either keep exploring or return to town through a portal. To craft the Blo-Blaster, visit Babyl in the eastern part of the village. It costs 2,000 Gold and 4 Oneiric Quartz to make this weapon.

Tip: You can only get Oneiric Quartz from Zephyr Fields or buy it from Nou for 2,500 Gold each.

    Why the Blo-Blaster is Great

The Blo-Blaster is one of the best ranged weapons in Moonlighter 2. It sacrifices some shot capacity for increased damage, making it ideal for defeating distant or airborne enemies. Although it doesn’t fire as fast, its raw power helps you quickly take down tough foes. It’s highly recommended if you rely on guns to handle enemies that hover or attack from range.

  • Best Class Choices for Completing and Solving in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Best Class Choices for Completing and Solving in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

When you start playing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 or watch its trailers, you’ll notice that it’s a unique action game with a distinctive combat style. The fighting happens entirely in first-person view, mainly using melee weapons. You also have special powers such as telekinesis, which lets you move enemies and objects around.

Besides basic fighting, you can unlock a variety of abilities based on the clan you pick at the beginning. While it’s possible to unlock abilities outside your clan later on, it will take some time to do so.

    What Are Clans?

Clans are a key part of Bloodlines 2, influencing both combat and story. As you play, you’ll hear about different personality traits and sometimes physical features of clan members, which helps you learn more about them.

After the tutorial, where you escape from your apartment, you’ll choose a clan. Each clan has four active abilities, one passive ability, and one perk. This choice is permanent and can’t be changed later, making it your main class system.

    Which Clan Should You Pick?

When choosing a clan, you’ll see six options: Brujah, Tremere, Banu Haqim, Ventrue, Lasombra, and Toreador. The game makes it easier because you won’t lose access to other clans’ abilities when you select one, although you will permanently lose their passive abilities.

Here’s a quick overview of each clan’s strengths:

    • Brujah: The straightforward brawlers. They excel in head-on fights with multiple area-of-effect abilities. Their passive boosts melee damage, making them perfect if you prefer direct combat without stealth.

    • Tremere: This clan focuses on stealth gameplay. They can teleport and use their Blood Curse to quickly defeat tough enemies. However, their passive is less useful, which makes them less ideal as a starting clan.

    • Banu Haqim: Another stealth-oriented clan that’s great for one-on-one encounters. They can stop time and move better, which helps in positioning yourself effectively.

    • Ventrue: If you want your abilities to do most of the work, Ventrue is a good choice. They can make enemies forget they saw you and manipulate them to fight each other, simplifying tough battles.

    • Lasombra: This clan is notable for ranged combat in a mostly melee game. They can make certain enemies run away from battles, giving you breathing room when overwhelmed.

    • Toreador: Arguably the most versatile for combat, Toreador can teleport, manipulate enemies, stealth kill, and move faster after feeding. It’s a well-rounded choice for active players.

It’s recommended to start with Brujah or Toreador, since their passive abilities offer significant advantages early on.

How to Unlock Abilities for Other Clans

After choosing your initial clan, you have access to an Ability Tree in the main menu. While passive abilities from other clans are locked, you can still unlock their active abilities by progressing through the game.

First, you’ll need to defeat Benny in a fight and earn your first title in Seattle. Once that’s done, various contacts across the city will be available, each associated with a specific clan. Visiting these contacts and having enough points in certain skill areas will unlock abilities. You can then spend your skill points to activate them.

You can see how many points are needed for each ability before unlocking it. To gain different types of points, you can either hunt humans and feed on them to earn 100 points or locate enemies using vampire sight. When you use vampire sight, you need to engage with NPCs to evoke specific emotions, which allows you to feed and earn points of that type.

Feeding on mortals is the easier way to get points overall, but using vampire sight allows you to target specific enemies for more strategic gains.

Early in the game, you’ll rely on weapons purchased from Untouchables or looted from palaces to equip your team. Each weapon has attack and accuracy stats, and may have an extra effect. Each Phantom Thief uses two main weapons for physical attacks: one melee and one ranged. Melee weapons include swords and whips, whereas ranged weapons are guns or slingshots.

Melee weapons can be used indefinitely, but ranged weapons require ammunition and are finite resources.

After each Palace deadline, Untouchables sell two types of weapons for each Thief. One deals straightforward damage without extra effects, and the other deals slightly less damage but provides a stat boost. These weapons serve well early on, but as the game progresses and enemies get tougher, you’ll want more powerful weapons, obtainable by sacrificing Personas in the Velvet Room.

Sacrifice Personas to Get Stronger Weapons

The Velvet Room’s electric chair allows you to sacrifice Personas to gain some of the best weapons in the game. During a fusion alarm, visit the Velvet Room, select the Persona you want to sacrifice, and choose Itemize Persona from the menu. The Persona gets shocked in the electric chair and leaves behind various items, including powerful weapons.

Even if the obtained item isn’t one of the best weapons, itemizing Personas is a great way to clear space in your Persona stock and acquire useful equipment. Keep in mind, sacrificing a Persona removes it from your collection until you find, withdraw, or fuse it again. However, this method yields some of the strongest weapons for your entire team, not just Joker.

How to Obtain the Ultimate Melee Weapons

Below are the Personas you need to sacrifice to get the most powerful melee weapons for each Phantom Thief. For Untouchables, we’ve listed the best weapons available for purchase and those obtained via itemizing Personas that offer the best damage or additional effects.

Note: Some weapons like Paradise Lost R are only obtainable via New Game Plus, requiring the final Persona.

How to Get the Ultimate Ranged Weapons and Guns

Just like melee weapons, you can sacrifice Personas to craft the most powerful ranged weapons for your team. These weapons typically provide higher attack stats and additional effects, although their accuracy and ammunition may not improve as the game progresses.

Teammate Weapon Persona Required Attack Accuracy Max Ammo Extra Effects In Stock After
    Joker Nataraja EX Metatron (Lv. 89) 350 85 8 +6 to all stats 1/9

    Best Ranged Weapons from Itemizing

Similarly, itemizing Personas can yield some of the strongest ranged weapons with extra effects.

Teammate Weapon Persona Required Attack Accuracy Extra Effects In Stock After
Joker Nataraja EX Metatron (Lv. 89) 350 85 +6 to all stats 1/9

Goro Akechi Ancient Day Vohu Manah (Lv. 80) 350 85 +6 to all stats —

Many of these weapons require sacrificing Personas at the Velvet Room. Once sacrificed, the Personas are gone from your stock, but the weapons they generate are some of the best available for each character in the game. This process allows you to upgrade your team’s firepower significantly, especially in the later stages of Persona 5 Royal.

  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles — Completing and Solving

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles — Completing and Solving

Bravery and Faith are two stats you’ll see on every character and unit in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. They aren’t part of the main story, and their detailed explanations are tucked away in tutorials some players might miss, making them a bit confusing. However, they are just as important as other stats.

If you want to tackle the toughest challenges in the game, understanding how these two stats work and how to manipulate them is crucial. Here’s a complete guide to Faith and Bravery.

    What Is Bravery?

Bravery is a number between 0 and 100 that influences three main things:

    • The chance of reaction abilities triggering. This chance is shown as a percentage.
    • The damage dealt by certain weapons, like Knight Swords and fists. Higher Bravery means more damage.
    • The treasure found when using the Chemist’s Treasure Hunter ability.

Generally, it’s best to keep Bravery as high as possible. A high Bravery level means units are more likely to trigger reaction abilities, which is especially helpful for characters relying on reactions like First Strike or Mana Shield to avoid damage.

Having a low Bravery score can cause problems:

    • Units with less than 16 Bravery might threaten to leave the party after battles.
    • Bravery under 10 automatically turns units into chickens, causing them to flee on their turns—this even happens at the start of battles.
    • Bravery below 6 can cause units to leave permanently.

    Treasure Hunting

When a character uses the Treasure Hunter ability to find treasure, understanding this mechanic is helpful. Each map contains tiles with hidden goodies—either common or rare items.

    • The chance to find a common treasure equals that character’s Bravery percentage.
    • The chance for a rare item is 100 minus their Bravery percentage.

So, if you want better chances at rare items, it’s smarter to use a character with low Bravery as your Treasure Hunter. Adding the Chemist’s Treasure Hunter ability increases the chances of rare finds regardless of Bravery.

Many players recommend Rapha as the ideal Treasure Hunter because she starts with low Bravery. If you’re not planning to use her in combat, she’s a good choice for treasure hunting. Still, since she makes a strong mage, you might prefer hiring a dedicated Treasure Hunter and lowering their Bravery manually.

How To Raise and Lower Bravery

You can change your Bravery by using specific skills:

    To increase Bravery:

    • Use Steel, a Squire ability from Ramza, which boosts Bravery by five.
    • Use Praise from the Orator class, raising Bravery by four (though it can miss).
    • Get attacked in battle and trigger the Bravery Boost reaction from the Dancer class, which adds three.

    To decrease Bravery:

    • Use Chicken, a Templar ability from Beowulf, reducing Bravery by 50.
    • Use Trepidation from Mystic class, dropping Bravery by 30.
    • Use Intimidate from the Orator class, which lowers it by 20.

Significant changes in Bravery during battle are semi-permanent: for every four points added or lost during combat, one point becomes permanent. For example, if Ramza raises his Bravery by 20 in battle through Steel, his permanent Bravery will increase by four points afterward. The same applies when lowering Bravery.

The maximum Bravery a unit can have is 97, and the minimum is 3. However, a very low Bravery score (around 3) would cause the unit to abandon you unless it’s Ramza.

    Factors Affecting Bravery

Certain game choices can impact Bravery:

    • At Mandalia Plains, choosing to destroy the Death Corps instead of saving Argath grants all units +10 Bravery and 2 permanent points. But in a future battle, Ramza loses 10 Bravery after a conversation.
    • Saving Argath at Mandalia does not give a Bravery boost immediately but earns Ramza 10 Bravery later.
    • Destroying goblins at Araguay Woods gives your team +10 Bravery, while saving Boco makes the battle harder without giving extra Bravery.
    • Saving Mustadio at Zaland Fort grants +10 Bravery, compared to +5 if you choose differently.

    What Is Faith?

Faith is a stat dedicated to magic, ranging from 0 to 100. Like Bravery, higher Faith influences:

    • Higher damage when casting offensive spells, but these spells also do more damage to the caster.
    • More accurate magic spells, but less chance to evade spells.

Having a very high Faith (over 95) makes a unit likely to leave after battles. Once a character hits 95 Faith permanently, they will leave the party at the end of the fight.

How To Raise and Lower Faith

There are fewer ways to adjust Faith compared to Bravery:

    • Use Preach from the Orator class to increase Faith by four points.
    • Trigger a Bard’s Faith Boost reaction, which raises Faith by three when struck by magic.
    • Use Enlighten from the Orator class to decrease Faith by 20 points.

Large changes in Faith are semi-permanent. Every 4-point increase or decrease during battle becomes a permanent change: Preach will increase a unit’s Faith by one point after each use, and Enlighten will decrease it by five.

    Faith and Atheist

Two status effects temporarily modify Faith:

    • Faith sets a unit’s Faith to 100, making them great mages but vulnerable to magic attacks. You can give this to your mages or enemies to weaken or strengthen their spells.
      • Spells like Mystic’s Belief or Templar’s Faith, or the Rod of Faith, can give units Faith.
    • Atheist sets Faith to zero, making units weak in magic but resistant to spells.
      • Mystic’s Disbelief and Templar’s Doubt spells, or Gokuu Pole, can inflict Atheist.

These effects only last during battles and do not permanently change a unit’s actual Faith level.

  • What Replaced the Materia Blade at Mount Bervenia in FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles?

What Replaced the Materia Blade at Mount Bervenia in FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles?

One of the best parts of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is creating a team of specialized characters who excel in specific areas. In Chapter 4, you have a great opportunity to recruit many strong characters to help you achieve your goals.

One character that stands out is Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7. Recruiting him is the highlight of the side story in this chapter, and he’s a valuable addition. While bringing him into your team can be challenging, it’s definitely worth the effort.

    How to Get Cloud

Getting Cloud requires completing all the side quests available in the game. These include:

    • Defeating the Monk in Kenjutsu Road
    • Defeating the Dancer at the Sal Ghidos Gate
    • Defeating the Mirage at the Abbey
    • Winning the Duel at the Jylland House
    • Clearing the Hidden Path at the Archades Expedition

After finishing these tasks, you can visit the Clockwork City of Goug for a cutscene where Cloud is summoned to the FFT world. However, he will run away immediately after appearing.

Next, go back to the Trade City of Sal Ghidos. If you’ve completed everything correctly, you will participate in a battle where your goal is to save Cloud from a group of brigands.

The fight is straightforward. Cloud will stay out of the enemy’s reach, keeping himself safe. You’ll start close enough to attack the brigands, making it easy to distract them from Cloud. It’s helpful to take along several healing characters—preferably ones with at least five movement, the Item skill, and Throw Items support—to keep everyone alive.

Unlike story battles, the enemies scale to your party’s average level. Because of this, it’s wise to bring your strongest units with high damage and durability to make sure the fight is quick and easy.

Once you’ve defeated the brigands, you’ll be able to recruit Cloud into your team.

How to Get the Materia Blade

Cloud begins the game with the Materia Blade, a sword necessary for using Cloud’s special SOLDIER abilities. In earlier versions of this game, players had to go to Mount Bervenia and search the volcano’s top with a Treasure Hunt skill to find it. Luckily, in this version, Cloud starts equipped with it right away.

Mount Bervenia is located southeast of Riovanes Castle. Don’t worry if you think you’ve missed something — this area doesn’t feature any story battles.

However, if you enter a random fight at Mount Bervenia and search the tile where the weapon was previously located, you will instead find the Materia Blade+, a stronger version of the original. This upgraded weapon has six extra attack points and increases Magic Attack by four points, making it one of the best weapons in the game for classes that rely on magic damage, including Cloud.

To find this, your Treasure Hunter must be able to Jump at least four times to reach the top corner of Mount Bervenia. The exact tile is at the mountain’s summit, in its northeastern corner.

  • Which Vault Hunter Should You Pick in Borderlands 4 for Completing and Solving?

Which Vault Hunter Should You Pick in Borderlands 4 for Completing and Solving?

Before diving into the world of Kairos and gathering a large number of Legendary items, you need to choose a Vault Hunter. Borderlands 4 features perhaps the most diverse roster yet, including many favorite playstyles from earlier games with a new twist. The game offers deep skill trees, skill enhancements, and multiple action skills, giving players a lot of flexibility for building their characters.

Choosing a class can be challenging because each skill tree varies greatly. This guide explains how each character works in Borderlands 4, summarizes their skill trees, and compares their abilities to previous Vault Hunters to help experienced players know what to expect.

    Vex, The Siren
Vex is the game’s Siren, a character with magical powers. In gameplay, she acts as a summoner and mage, capable of defeating enemies quickly with Eldritch Blasts and phantom minions. She has three skill trees dedicated to her Siren powers:

    • Phase Phamiliar: Summons a phantom minion to fight alongside you, focusing on minions and survivability.
    • Incarnate: Boosts Vex’s combat skills, improves movement speed, and grants access to Eldritch Blast. Emphasizes kinetic damage, healing from damage, and critical hits.
    • Dead Ringer: Creates ghostly clones of Vex that focus on elemental damage, melee attacks, and finishing enemies.

Players interested in gun builds should choose Incarnate, which supports bleed damage-over-time strategies and is used in some of the strongest endgame boss builds. During leveling, Dead Ringer offers high DPS with clones, while casual players may prefer Phase Phamiliar.

    Action Skills for Vex:

    • Phase Phamiliar: Summons Trouble, a minion that respawns after death, and can teleport and deal area damage.
    • Incarnate: Creates a Phase Explosion, damaging nearby enemies and restoring Vex’s health, while boosting movement speed and Eldritch Blast.
    • Dead Ringer: Summons clones that taunt enemies and deal melee or gun damage, with three charges.

    Amon, The Forgeknight
Amon is a melee-focused juggernaut who destroys enemies with brutal attacks and elemental effects. He’s a mix of a berserker and a druid, with each skill tree designed around destructive power.

    • Onslaughter: Empowers fists with fire, allowing rocket punches. Focuses on melee, gun, and fire/shock damage.
    • Crucible: Wields two throwable combat axes, emphasizing mobility and status effects.
    • Scourge: Uses a shield that absorbs damage and provides damage resistance, with focus on survivability and cryo/incendiary effects.

The Onslaughter build turns gameplay into a fast-paced, Doom Eternal-style experience, with leaping punches and intense melee combos. The Scourge tree makes Amon a durable torch, disintegrating enemies with a Frostfire ring, while Crucible offers elemental chaos.

    Action Skills for Amon:

    • Onslaughter: Overloads fists with fire, increasing shield regeneration, damage, and movement speed; performs rocket punches.
    • Crucible: Equips axes to throw and retrieve, dealing elemental damage and priming enemies for detonation.
    • Scourge: Uses a shield to absorb damage, then unleashes a cryo explosion, with bonus damage if Vengeance is full.

    Rafa, The Exo-Soldier
Rafa is a run-and-gun character who uses a Tediore suit to enhance combat with special weapons. He plays like a blend of Zane and Wilhelm, but with options to mimic classic soldier classes from past Borderlands games like Roland, Axton, and Moze.

    • Peacebreaker Cannons: Deploy shoulder-mounted cannons that automatically fire at enemies.
    • Arc-Knives: Switch to melee blades mounted on his arms, marking enemies and increasing damage.
    • APOPHIS Lance: Use a powerful arm cannon that fires explosive, mark-enhanced beams.

Most players prefer Peacebreaker Cannons for their destructive output. Arc-Knives is great for close combat, and APOPHIS Lance offers a versatile ordnance-based attack.

    Action Skills for Rafa:

    • Peacebreaker Cannons: Fire automatically for a duration; holding to end early reduces cooldown.
    • Arc-Knives: Switch to blades, perform melee attacks, dash, or unleash a blade fury on marked enemies.
    • APOPHIS Lance: Firing explosive beams that mark enemies, dealing increased damage when charged.

    Harlowe, The Gravitar
Harlowe is a support-oriented character, similar to Maya from previous games, but with a focus on team buffs and crowd control. She uses experimental gear to emulate Siren powers, such as Phaselocking enemies and enhancing allies’ damage output. She’s a highly adaptable character, valuable in any squad.

    • CHROMA Accelerator: Launches an explosive projectile passing through enemies and dealing heavy Cryo and Radiation damage.
    • Flux Generator: Creates a shield bubble that damages enemies inside and heals allies’ shields.
    • Zero-Point: Puts enemies in stasis or slams them into the ground for crowd control and debuffs.

Zero-Point builds on Maya’s classic Phaselock, but with more customization through augments. CHROMA is ideal for dealing massive Cryo and Radiation damage, while Flux Generator boosts team survivability and weapon performance.

    Action Skills for Harlowe:

    • CHROMA Accelerator: Launches a damaging energy pocket, detonation deals area damage.
    • Flux Generator: Deploys an energy shield inside which enemies take damage and are entangled; can toss again.
    • Zero-Point: Freezes enemies in stasis, or slams them down to cause explosions.

This overview covers the core character types in Borderlands 4, emphasizing their playstyles, comparable characters, routes for builds, and their action skills.

  • Octopath Traveler 0 Pre-Order Guide: Prices, Editions, and More for Completing and Solving

Octopath Traveler 0 Pre-Order Guide: Prices, Editions, and More for Completing and Solving

The July Nintendo Direct was somewhat dull, but it did highlight a few key releases. One standout was Octopath Traveler 0, a prequel in the Octopath series that updates its mobile game and is set to launch on PC and consoles on December 4, 2025. Even though the announcement was during a Nintendo Direct, players with current or past-generation consoles or capable PCs will be able to play the game later this year.

If you’re eager for Octopath Traveler 0, pre-orders are already open. There are three editions available, each with different pre-order bonuses to consider depending on where you plan to play. The game is priced at $50 for the standard edition, making 2025 a year that features many $50 games, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Split Fiction.

Octopath Traveler 0 Editions and Pre-Order Options:

    Edition Contents Price
Standard Edition Base game + pre-order bonus (Travel Provisions) $49.99
Digital Deluxe Edition Base game + Deluxe Travel Provisions + HD-2D Art Book $59.99
Collector’s Edition Everything in the Deluxe plus physical items like a Ring of the Flamebringer, Traveler’s Cards, and other collectibles $229.99

If you just want the game, the standard edition offers it for about $50 digitally or physically, and it includes the pre-order bonus of in-game Travel Provisions—Healing Grapes, Inspiriting Plums, Revitalizing Jams, and Icewind Mastery. For digital buyers wanting more content, the Deluxe Edition provides additional provisions and a beautiful digital art book for an extra $10.

For those extremely excited, there’s also the collector’s edition priced at $229.99, which features physical collectibles like a Ring of the Flamebringer and Poker Set, perfect for dedicated fans wanting a keepsake.

On Nintendo Switch 2: Physical copies of Octopath Traveler 0 will be released as game-key cards, as the game’s size only needs about 5GB of storage. This is due to Nintendo’s hardware policy, which currently offers only a 64GB cartridge size for third-party developers. So, most Switch 2 titles will be digital or game-key cards, with exceptions like Cyberpunk 2077, which takes up most of the storage space.

    FAQs:

    • Which Octopath should I play first? Recommended to play Octopath Traveler 2 first, and if you enjoy it, then try the original.
    • How long to beat? Both games take roughly 60 hours to complete their main stories.
    • Are they connected? No, each game is standalone within the same series.
  • Baldur’s Gate 3: Players Discover Ethel’s Invisibility Isn’t Solved

    Baldur’s Gate 3: Players Discover Ethel’s Invisibility Isn’t Solved

Aunty Ethel is one of the most wicked characters you’ll find in Baldur’s Gate 3. When she isn’t spewing hate, she uses her flirtatious charm to draw you in. As a vile hag, she preys on people in their most vulnerable moments, and she can be a tough opponent when you choose to confront her.

The first encounter with Ethel can be particularly frustrating since she turns invisible. However, with some preparation, you can make this fight easier. Buying or pickpocketing her Potion of Invisibility from the Emerald Grove will prevent her from disappearing during your battle.

Can’t Go Invisible If You’ve Got No Potion

Despite her dark nature, Aunty Ethel, in her old lady form, can be found at the Emerald Grove selling potions and other items. Interestingly, whatever she has for sale can be used in battle against you. If you take her Potion of Invisibility before the fight, she’ll stay visible during combat.

It seems many assumed that her invisibility was just one of her powers. In reality, she drinks the potion. By stealing it, you make the fight much more manageable. Given how despised she is, reducing her advantages will feel quite rewarding.

This tactic can be useful against other characters too. One player mentioned, “This also works with Balthazar and his speed potion. If you swipe it from him before the fight, he can’t use it.” Balthazar is another annoying foe that can make battles tedious.

However, there are some downsides to this strategy. Another player pointed out, “She can also use anything you sell her.” Some even reported her throwing smokepowder bombs at them in battle. While it’s unclear why anyone would trade smokepowder bombs to her, I plan to buy out her entire stock on my next playthrough.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Enjoy Completing Level 12 Powers at Leisure

Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Enjoy Completing Level 12 Powers at Leisure

Leveling up in video games needs a careful balance. If you level up too quickly, you become too strong, and the game loses its challenge. On the other hand, if leveling up is too slow, it feels frustrating. Baldur’s Gate 3 has struck a great balance with its leveling system.

The game is designed so that players don’t breeze through levels and become unbeatable, nor do they grind endlessly just to access powerful abilities late in the game. Instead, you can reach level 12 while still having enough content left to enjoy being powerful.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Handles Leveling Up Perfectly

Fans have noticed this smart balancing act. Many appreciate that Larian took their time with the leveling system. One user, Grandkahoona01, commented on Reddit, “You hit max level (12) with plenty of game time left.”

They also pointed out that players can reach level 12 early in Act 3, allowing them to use the game’s strongest spells and abilities for about 10 additional hours.

One player mentioned, “I save the big fights for when I hit level 12. It’s so much fun to go all out with high damage against the tougher bosses in Act 3.” Another added, “The game does a good job of keeping your power in check. Some spells and hit points improve, but it doesn’t unleash all the top spells from the books.”

Even players familiar with tabletop RPGs felt that Larian did a good job. One noted, “As a DM in TTRPGs, I think the level cap is perfect. Going past level 12 in D&D gives you powers that would break the game.”

Of course, some players have used mods to go beyond the level cap for fun, but this is for those who want to experiment.

  • Dragon Quest 7 Remake Reportedly Completing Solving Tasks

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake and Upcoming Projects

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake is set to release on October 30 of this year. Meanwhile, Square Enix is also working on Dragon Quest 12, the next major game in the series. Recently, there are hints that there may be a third Dragon Quest game in the works.

This new game might be coming out soon.

Dragon Quest 7 May Get a Remake

According to MP1st, Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is reportedly being remade. An internal document suggests it could launch within this fiscal year or early next year.

This game first came out on the PlayStation 1 and later on the Nintendo 3DS. It’s considered one of the more underrated and lengthy entries in the series. MP1st believes the term “Remake” indicates that it might be more than just a visual update.

Besides the internal document, MP1st claims to have seen a short teaser featuring the game’s logo against a cloudy backdrop, which could be part of Square Enix’s marketing plan.

As with any rumor, especially those from Square Enix, it’s wise to approach this information cautiously. However, it does seem plausible, especially given Square’s recent efforts to revisit older games from the series. According to the report, we might not have to wait long to see if this rumor turns out to be true.

This debilitating status, inflicted by decayed mummies found in the Lower City sewers during Act 3, is particularly formidable. Not only does it lower your hit points, but it also prevents healing for an agonizing 20 turns.

In this guide, we’ll explore how to steer clear of this terrifying condition and the remedies available if you fall victim to it.

Understanding Mummy Rot in Baldur’s Gate 3

Mummy Rot is a debilitating condition that decreases the health of the afflicted character by 8 points every turn and lasts for a total of 20 turns. During this time, healing is completely off the table.

This ailment is one of the most dangerous in the game because it not only chips away at your health but also hinders any healing attempts for you and your allies. Even if a teammate brings you back after you’ve been incapacitated, the Mummy Rot status remains.

The enemy that delivers this attack employs a move called the Rotting Fist, making encounters with these mummies especially treacherous. You’ll encounter them primarily during your time in the Lower City, particularly during the Mystic Carrion quest, where you’ll battle a rotten mummy and its minions, who can continually inflict Mummy Rot.

    Ways to Cure Mummy Rot

This status effect, classified as a curse, can be removed using the Remove Curse spell. It’s a level 3 Abjuration spell that can be learned by Wizards, Clerics, and Warlocks at level 5.

The spell requires a level 3 spell slot or higher and effectively wipes away all Hexes and Curses from the target.

If you have Gale or Shadowheart in your party, there’s a good chance they have this spell available. Additionally, you might come across a scroll that allows you to cast it, but such scrolls are quite rare.

You can also cure Mummy Rot by taking a Long Rest at your campsite, providing another strategy to recover from this ailment.

Another option is using the Greater Restoration spell, a level 5 Abjuration spell available to Wizards, Clerics, and Druids at level 9. This spell can remove various curses, including Mummy Rot, along with charms and petrification effects.

In summary, to effectively deal with Mummy Rot, you should have a spellcaster in your party—preferably one that specializes in healing. If you lack access to these spells, consider fighting mummies from a distance to minimize the risk of contracting this distressing affliction in Baldur’s Gate 3.
