From initial Pink Slimes to the rare and hard-to-find late-game slimes, here’s everything you need to know about the best slimes to make money quickly so you can expand your ranch and turn Rainbow Island into your perfect home.
How to Get Pink Slimes and Pink Plorts
Pink Slimes are versatile and plentiful around Rainbow Island. They have the least valuable Plorts, but they become more valuable when merged into Largo Slimes. These slimes can eat anything, which makes them ideal for feeding other slimes that need resources you haven’t yet figured out how to obtain. Pink Slimes are great early-game options, helping you gather extra Plorts and feed difficult slimes like Flutter Slimes. They’re also useful for farming Largo Plorts for future Largos, serving as essential stepping stones in your ranching journey.
Pink Slimes can be found around Rainbow Island and are easy to gather.
How to Get Yolky Slimes and Yolky Plorts
Yolky Slimes are tricky to find—they don’t have a dedicated home region. Instead, they appear sporadically in nests across the map. When you spot a Yolky Slime, grab it immediately and bring it back to your ranch. You can keep Yolky Slimes in a simple coop—they don’t require special food or enclosures.
These slimes are valuable because they produce large eggs which hatch into chicks or provide Yolky Plorts, which have mid-range value. The eggs can be smashed to collect chicks and Yolky Plorts, aiding your farm’s development. Just remember that Yolky Slimes need space to produce eggs; overcrowding will prevent egg production. You can house multiple Yolky Slimes together initially, but managing their numbers is important to prevent an excess of hens and roosters.
Note: Unlike Fire and Puddle Slimes, Yolky Slimes cannot be turned into Largo Slimes.

How to Get Dervish Slimes and Dervish Plorts

Be cautious when collecting plorts; use a Plort Collector terminal to gather them automatically, reducing risk. Keep your distance from these Slimes during collection to avoid injury.
How to Get Boom Slimes and Boom Plorts
Boom Slimes are highly explosive and constantly on the verge of detonating, which can disorient nearby slimes and damage you. Their explosions are dangerous, so an automatic Plort Collector is essential. Their plorts have mid-range value and are required for many upgrades. To maximize efficiency, combine Boom Slimes with other types like Rock or Crystal Slimes to produce more plorts with less effort, avoiding the need to build multiple specialized corrals initially.
Warning: Avoid creating Boom Largo Slimes capable of flight, as they can be difficult to manage.
How to Get Flutter Slimes and Flutter Plorts
Flutter Slimes are difficult to feed because Nectar, their preferred food, can only be collected from the Starlight Strand at night. These gentle slimes can fly, which means you’ll need a cage or a corral with a roof to keep them contained. They tend to be peaceful and curious, often relating well with Hen Hens and Roosteros. If you lack space or resources, temporarily housing a couple of hens in a coop can help produce Flutter Plorts.
Creating Largo Slimes with Flutter Plorts is a sustainable way to farm for higher Plort yields.

How to Get Twin Slimes and Twin Plorts
Twin Slimes are common in the Grey Labyrinth and produce highly profitable plorts, sometimes fetching up to 50 units each. These lively slimes have vibrant colors, and their favorite foods are easy to farm, like Polaricherries. Setting up a farm nearby will ensure a steady supply of plorts that can help you make a significant profit.
How to Get Gold Slimes and Gold Plorts
Gold Slimes are the rarest and most valuable, with their plorts selling for hundreds of units. However, they can’t be housed as Largo Slimes or bred on your ranch. Instead, you’ll need a splash of luck to find them in the wild. When you spot a Gold Slime, feed it items from your inventory that it can eat. After snacking, it will produce gold plorts—highly prized for their worth. Keeping extras on hand is useful for crafting special decorations or upgrades.
