Joy shared a story on her Instagram account, revealing that she had suffered a heart attack and showing herself lying in a hospital bed.

Assi is the son of Dalal Karam, who was married to Ziad Rahbani in the late 1970s. They tied the knot in 1979 after a romance that blossomed during their collaboration on the theatrical play “Mais Al-Reem.”

In a controversial development, Ziad Rahbani filed a lawsuit in 2004 to dispute Assi’s paternity, seeking evidence that the child was not his biological son. However, DNA testing ultimately confirmed that Assi was not Ziad’s biological son. Despite this, their relationship never completely ended; instead, they shared occasional moments of friendship.
